Lagos is a city of hustlers. If you're not sharp and streetwise, you might get taken advantage of but that's mainly in the areas where people have to work extra hard just to eat.
Nigerians are very peaceful people including the northern part of the country but politicians are using boko haram to terrorize the country at the northern part. Most of them are poor too but other parts of Nigeria is wonderful.
Yes apparently the Northern part of Nigeria is another world on its own. I didn't have the opportunity to visit yet, but I will at some point. I've watch other videos on the North though, the people there are peaceful but as you said, they are terrorist groups that try and cause chaos.
Nigerians respect African Americans and admire them. At the same time, the media paints a fearsome image of African Americans. Like the popular song "Scarface" by Geto boys or Menace to Society movie. It is like the image Nollywood created of Nigerians doing voodoo. If you visit the country, you will see the disparity between the media image and reality. I still love this rap so much! That’s a very graphic song lol. I heard it and yea that’s just media. Of course it’s based on SOME truth (sometimes people shoot people) but I can see how media paints an imagine in the minds of people- but it should t be expected of everyone.
