Linda Ronstadt should by all rights, be inducted into BOTH the Country Music Hall of Fame AND the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and Martina should sing THIS SONG at the induction ceremony!

I love Martina, she has arguably the greatest voice of any female country singer in history. I also love Linda Ronstadt. Just one problem. This is a Phil Everly song, and it was first sung by Phil and his brother Don. Proper credit really should have been given.
Jesus! Isn’t that just one of the greatest songs ever written? There could be a million songs written from now till whenever, but when some top level singer like Linda or Martina belts this out a hundred years from now, people will cheer and love it just like this crowd did.
Love Linda and Martina - nothing Linda couldn't sing - but this was an Everly Brothers song and I believe they should get some credit in the introduction. Linda did an amazing job covering it - and Martina did it more than justice.
Linda deserves all the praise in the world. Her influence is far more profound than the CMA/ACM acknowledges(Linda didn't hang with the Nashville Scene). Martina honors RONSTADT(best pipes ever)well.
Good Lord people, get real. Yes The Everly Brothers did the original and had a hit off it. Then Linda came along 20 some odd years later and had a frickin' SMASH hit with it. But give Martina her due....this is awesome! And it's a great tribute to a great lady who will never perform again.
Written by Phil Everly (1939-2014) the greatest harmony singer the world has ever seen. Recorded with his brother Don in 1960 as The Everly Brothers and solo in 1975.
Wow, the last chord of all of you singing it together was in perfect harmony.. chills down my spine! because I wonder when will I be loved.. I'm still waiting..
Love martina mcbride. No bs autotune these ladies have talent. The band is great too musicians doing what they do best. Martina is very easy on the eyes too.
Honestly I never heard of Linda Ronstadt before until I heard Martina mention how much of a fan she was of hers. I think this is a great tribute from a legend of Country music to a legend of Pop music. Martina is a class act.
I've seen Linda perform this live, believe me she was amazing. Martina, hearing you on CD's, or YT is a disservice. Feel the strength, warmth, & passion in person at her next concert, she'll also blow you away. Martina the torch has been passed. All my best to both ladies!

big hit from the original's...The Everly Brothers, Linda's version just as big of a great hit, Martina's follow up great...just proves, a great song is truly timeless...when covered by "top shelf" talent.
I am just now,age 62 working on the guitar solo I feel like this is a very positive vibe as opposed to the blues even a fast blues uses more minor notes here the challenge is, how positive and how much fun can you demonstrate in a 30 sec solo I love it
Awesome version of the Linda Rondstadt cover of this classic song.. Just like Rondstadt covered the Rolling Stones classic " Tumbling Dice" and made it her own she has put her own mark on covers and this is just one of them.. Martina McBride did an incredible version of Linda's country rock version cover of the Everly Brothers classic.
When I hear other artist cover songs from the previous or past artists, it makes me realize just how special gals like Linda Ronstadt, Donna Summer etc were... although these artist do nice covers or tributes. It always seems to pale in comparison to the sensational talents that they were...and it also seems that they were taken for granted, and don't get the recognition they so richly deserve.
@countrygirl countrymusiclover DIANA SUMMER???? WHO IS DIANA SUMMER???? You whole life clearly a joke saying this. Donna Summer is the level of queen music BIGGER than MARTINA. Martina is Big but she is BIGGER case closed
Linda's cover versions of songs are so good that as good as the original versions are she overshadows them Blue Bayou is a perfect example she owns that song
A favorite of mine over 50 years but sung by the Everly Bros, then I heard and liked this sung by Linda Ronstadt, and now by the latest sensation in female singers. Still the same song. Great!
no joke this freaking made my night. First time I heard this song was on According to Jim of all things and was looking for a good version and I find Martina McBride
Good song, written by Phil Everly and done by the Everly brothers. Linda Ronstadt covered it & did a great version. Martina's version is very good also!
@@lindalealphamale .. I would not say the best song in the history of music. That maybe your opinion. There's a lot of great singing artists out there. I don't think she would make it to the top 10.
Thank you for noting that. I love Linda's version, too - but credit where credit is due. Such a great tune that still sounds great 50+ years after it was written!

I think Linda would approve.

Props to a great band that helped make this performance possible.

I totally agree!
I love Martina but what about Patsy Cline ? Let's not forget Reba

That harmony at the end…. Wow
Love Linda and Martina - nothing Linda couldn't sing - but this was an Everly Brothers song and I believe they should get some credit in the introduction. Linda did an amazing job covering it - and Martina did it more than justice.
Phil Everly song
Martina McBride has a strong, beautiful voice. She's beautiful, as well.
Martina McBride has, in my opinion, the best voice in country music.
Elegance personified, Martina is the best, full of charm and humility. Adorable personality.
Harmony is perfection 🙌
Linda deserves all the praise in the world. Her influence is far more profound than the CMA/ACM acknowledges(Linda didn't hang with the Nashville Scene). Martina honors RONSTADT(best pipes ever)well.
If Martina is not in the Country music Hall Of Fame get her in there
The best rendition of this Linda Ronstadt song I have heard: Amazing job.
Other than Linda, yes. Honestly Linda Ronstadt was untouchable in the early to mid 70s. My dream woman! Martina is an awesome singer too.
I love Martina, she’s got crazy talent!
Right up there with Susanna Hoffa different drum
is it not an Everly Brothers song
@@andrewjohnston2850 that's what I thought too. Linda is still the best to cover though imo
Another great song from the Everly Brothers. Love both Linda and Martina's covers.
Well done Martina, the guitar solo was spot on! only a les Paul can sing like that!

Love Martina's rendition of this Universal song, that each and every one of us at some point on our lives, have felt as though it was dedicated to us.
Great version but The Everly Brothers is what i think of when i hear this song and always will! 💚💚
One of the best singers!!!
Martina blows the roof, yet still stays in control, talent
What a great version of this song!
Great cover of a fantastic song. Absolutely nailed it.
A great singer paying tribute to a great singer. Nicely done. Love you, Linda.

Linda Ronstadt and her arrangers did such a great job with classic songs that they become known as hers.
Yes. Actually an Everly Brothers song ...
Hard to cover the Queen of covers, but Martina never disappoints! Great rendition girl!
Martina is so talented and gorgeous, sings with all her heart, always a classy Lady.

this was voted best country song of all time and was written by the late great Phil Everly
hi
Phil Everly?! How interesting! It sure sounds like Everly material!
Very solid and a good use of progressions from verse to bridge.
Interesting and true ! And Phil wrote it as a ballad, if you can believe that !!!
No words will suffice to appreciate Martina's performance with her great team. Well done.
She is a great talent !

What an incredible vocalist Martina is and she can belt it out like Linda did with this song.
I downloaded this song when I heard this and I like this version better...
If I had never heard Linda Ronstadt this would be a good song.
But LR's voice is just so powerful......
True. I’ve heard both but I’m kinda liking Martina singing it better tbh.
The Woman was born to sing🔥
She's a very good singer, but this just proves what an utterly explosive voice Linda had.
Wonderful song
Oh yeahhh!!👍👍 Brought a tear to my eye. Great job on hitting Linda's high note at the end of the last verse. A lot of us can relate to this song.
The movie Cocktail brought me here..thank you
