Hi, glad to hear the girls are OK. Our last Cavalier (Snickers) needed surgery on both legs when she was a young dog. She made complete recoveries and lived a happy life!
My 4 y/o cav Uno was diagnosed with a luxating patella on his right knee just recently. The vet did not seem concerned at all, I will just make a point to have him checked regularly! So glad to hear Herkey and Milton are both doing well! ❤️ Lots of love from Sweden!
My cav went into surgery for one leg 2 weeks ago. We decided to go into surgery now while he’s young and has good health to go into surgery. He’s doing very well with the recovery ❤️
I take a turmeric supplement everyday for my knees so it makes sense that it could help with fur babies. Thanks so much for the update. So glad the ladies are doing well.
My 2 year old Cav has a grade 3 luxating patella for a year no but he has no pain! It’s comforting to see other Cavs have this issue and how they manage it.
Thank you so much for putting these videos together. I have a wee cavy too with a grade 1 locating patella in both knees and learn so much from watching your videos. I also love watching your two adorable dogs and am very glad to hear they are both doing OK.
Our cavalier had to get surgery for this as a puppy, however afterwards, she was great for the rest of her life - she passed in the summer of 2019 at the age of 19 years
Thanks for the update! My cav is doing good too w her luxating patella. Right leg only, not surgery for the moment. We are giving her the fera pet joint daily supplement thanks to your reccommendation. I would recommend the product too!
My ruby guys has a Grade 1 LP in his one leg and I suspect my tri now has one as well. Our vet wasn’t too concerned yet but said it’s best to keep their weights at “normal” range and to keep them from heavy jumping off stairs/furniture etc.
Hi Mai! It's us!! ❤ Yuzu was born with luxating patella in both knees grade 2 and 3. Surgery was suggested from 3 vets until we met our holistic vet who highly discouraged surgery, and instead try prolotherapy. It is basically sugar water injected into the joint to encourage rebuilding of the cartilage. It is often done is humans as well. Not invasive at all and no down time. Yuzu's knee was popping out every time she played and ran around causing pain and limping. After 2 sessions of prolotherapy 3 years ago, she hasn't had any incidents causing pain/limping since. It's really amazing. Some dogs needs repeated sessions every year or two, but Yuzu has been doing well for over 3 years!! Please look into it and a holistic vet usually performs this.
Hello, I came across your video searching for luxating patella. I saw that you opted for non surgery. Could you please tell me which grade the girls are currently at? My pup just got diagnosed with grade 2. We want to watch and monitor but not sure how fast this condition degenerates. Thank you so much and hope to hear from you!
Hi 👋 I have been on a waiting list for Cavalier (from a reputable breeder) for months and they just told me they have one available but she is the runt of the litter and they are running tests to see if she’s a healthy puppy. Now my question is: would you get the runt or wait for the next litter? Thank you ☺️ 💕
My Yorkie had a knee surgery last year, it was necessary for her to be able to continue to walk :( all is well now, she recovered in a few weeks as expected, but now we can't use the stairs nor jump. She's almost 10 now.
Hey! How's your dog doing now. Hopefully that limp never came back. That's how mine started limp then boom needs surgery. So expensive seeing a specialist next week.

Aww thanks for watching :) glad our videos can help you out. We love our community and love sharing what we learn along the way!
My pup was dignosed with this too. Thanks for the info.
I'm glad to hear that the girls are healthy and that the patella issues have not gotten any worse. Keep feeding them with fresh foods and supplements😊
It seems like you've been very fortunate so far if minor patella issues is all you've had with Herky and Milton! So glad to hear they're healthy!!
Omg. So lucky! Can’t believe Herky is 7 and heart clear! ❤️❤️❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Hey :) I had a Cavvie with luxating patella - gave him collagen supplements with his food every day and he never had to have surgery :)
That’s amazingggg to hear!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I heard that chiropractics on the vertebrae works wonders.
My first Cavalier had a luxating patella. He had the surgery and he was fine very soon after.
Yes surgery is a good option for some pups and the results are always great!

The pups loove those supplements too! Tastes good probably :)

Do they really learn to walk to compensate for it? I feel like mine might.
I feel like Milton did!
Mine is 0/0 luckily. But a few days back she had a limping episode- hope it was just a pulled muscle
