I love that Sabalenka and iga are proving why they are the top 2 !!
but they are not...Screamolenka is not a top 2 player in the world...She's not a top player. She just screams and hits the ball hard...there is a bunch of other top 30 players that are actually better than her, but because of injuries they just don't have the points...WTA rankings don't mean anything, just like the ATP rankings...

It shows how well the top players are doing now and there's less randomness and inconsistency like there was from about 2016 through ~ 2021.
Excuse me! When did Sabalenka discover the drop shot. I’ve been talking about how Gauff’s game is growing in this tournament but I am just as impressed how Sabalenka is using more in her arsenal compared to the US Open. I look forward to seeing her in this Final and RG.
I am liking this version of Sabalenka with the drop shot - makes her game more interesting and could give her the edge over Swiatek in the final.

Collins, with her high intensity and high power game, is used to having opponents on the run, Saba gave her a taste of her own medicine.
Not a huge fan of the Belarusian, but her level of play and the intensity she brings every point is phenomenal. If anyone can beat Iga on clay, it's Sabalenka.
Rybakina beat Iga on clay at stuttgart; indoor tournament and Roland garros can be hot at times, but Ryba can definitely do it too!

I would never say Collins is better than Saba. Saba has 2 Grand Slams, and Collins most likely never will have one. I wanted Collins to win today, but Saba proved why she is on top.

I don’t like the screaming but love that Sabalenka’s game has evolved. I always love players who try to improve themselves and not just rely on their strengths. We all know Sabalenka has power but learning dropshots and trying to play at net is refreshing.

I would however add that she needs to change the game plan : the hard & low drives are not bothering Aryna enough .. I would try to go with more looping, heavy topspin shots and the low deep slices to make sure the rythm changes more. But Sabalenka is certainly not an easy challenge to solve.

Another fine match between Sabalenka & Collins. This is to be expected- the better player should win. But credit to Collins for another stellar performance this year. Congrats to Sabalenjka, now on to the final. I have to go Swiatek, though. She's the better player, on her best surface, and she's played like the favorite this tournament. Hoping for another classic.
Iga is definitely my auto reaction too, but their previous final was very close so....I don't know. I would love Saba to win! And yes, Collins has been on a tear.

Men's ball has a higher RPM so it needs a higher resolution.
Was really looking forward to this match, because DC has been in great form (19/1 coming into this I believe). Interesting to see how Aryna played; she's really adding the short game to her bag of tricks. Hitting such HEAVY ground strokes, opens up for the drop shot, and she's really exploiting that well. Solid tactics against DC.
I do wonder how that will go against Iga though. This will be another match I'm looking forward to. May the best player win!
If she does those drop shots continuously in the final she will win

Sabalenka will have to produce something extra special to beat Iga…something more than those new drop shot tactics (loving it btw) cause Iga is so fast around the court, she’ll need to get inside Iga’s mind

Impressive that Collins managed to only lose the first set 7-5 despite apparently not winning a point until the final game of the set. Terrible highlights again.
The reason behind here is Saba has been her top nemesis (6-0). Hope in the next match DL will break this record, finding the way to win against Saba.

The courts in Rome look super fast, as if they have very less clay on the surface. Looks fast as in Madrid and a lot faster than Monte Carlo, Barcelona and Estoril. The courts beeing that fast leads to Sabalenka having a good chance vs. Swiatek. Swiatek still the favorite, but its maybe a 60:40. Since Paris is usually a lot slower, Sabalenka will have more problems having same sucess as in Madrid and Rome.

The screaming is still going on when her opponent hits. It is verbal hindrance and it's just WRONG. Her tennis is amazing. You beat Danielle Collins and you are beating top five, regardless of whether the ranking has caught up.
Despite that back injury Sabalenka is on 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 What a player she is. She truly is proving why she belongs amongst the worlds best players. To play like this despite debilitating back injury is simply phenomenal. Aryna Sabalenka truly is one of the best players on tour right now. Nothing seems to stop her from winning matches. She is amazing player.
With the impeccable way Danielle Collins has been playing since she won the Miami Open, I believe it's only Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina can beat her. Not even Coco Gauff.
Now that Sabalenka has beaten Collins twice in Madrid and Rome masters on clay in the span of two weeks, her chances of winning her first Grand Slam title at Roland Garros before her impending retirement at the end of the year looks herculean.
I'm rooting for the 30-year-old American in Paris.
