That a Ingersoll Rand QX battery tool and we can make 2 stage tightening
STEP1) TO Tightening the bolt to desired torque
Step 2 ) will be auto reverse the tool to 2 to 3 degree to loosen and release the tension so that you don't have to press reverse manually ...if u get ok in step 1 we get step 2

I understand what the tool is doing, but I guess I’m not understand the “why” of it, the purpose. Why isn’t a big nut being used on the stud, like the one on the bottom?

Great question! Superbolt multi-jackbolt tensioners take high preload requirements and break them down into manageable torques using the jackbolts threaded through the nut body. Instead of dealing with a large torque requirement often associated with standard/large hex nuts, Superbolt only requires a much smaller torque. This means that simple and safe hand tools are the only tools required. As bolting applications get bigger and have numerous Superbolts of the same size, the Superbolt Tool is a further enhancement to the tightening experience since it offers simultaneous tightening of the jackbolts.

@@NordLockGroup, thanks for the reply. I understand. So, during design phase, do the engineers need to know or specify in advance your superbolt? Is the torque previously required for the fastener changed? Is there a standard conversion for an existing application that converts to your superbolt from a standard bolt? Is it done by measuring the stretch of the bolt regardless. And a rather dumb question, why is it called a superbolt when it’s actually a nut?

@@GNX157 We often work with engineers and OEMs in design phase with their applications and bolted connections. We can assist in the optimization of the size, type and number of boltings. The tightening requirements are mostly supplied by the customers and whether supplied with hex torque, preload, stress, or stretch value, we provide the corresponding jackbolt torque to achieve their requirements. T=KFD is the common conversion used between hex torque and preload. It is true, we supply more "nut"-style Superbolts than bolt-style Superbolts. Users have called them Supernuts and Superbolts interchangeably.
