Yeah I think that is right amount of oak for the kitchen, my old employer used to want everything solid and I found it such a waste!
The edge bander seemed a lot more efficient than I thought it was going to be. Its good to be under a bit of pressure with repetitive tasks like that, keeps you switched on.
Just a thought for future content, you mentioned the work which you oversaw on that house with the kitchen. I would be interested to know how you price for a job like that, not the amounts as such but more how you price jobs which have multiple aspects and moving parts. Example, with all those different jobs, did you give an individual price for every single job before hand or did you agree on a day rate.
    Thanks

Yeah the edgebander is efficient as you are taking the product to the tool rather than having to clamp each board etc.
Appreciate the suggestion for future content. Usually I price each aspect with a brief summary. If it deviates I explain the complications of repricing mid flow so we normally agree on dayrate with rough estimations and updates along the way. It’s a really good idea and when that job is finished I will do a little talk on the costings.

That makes sense with the pricing, thanks for the feedback. A brief talking point to possibly cover during your fit this week would be about the feet on the wardrobes. If the room has thick carpet are you happy to still sit the wardrobes on top of that carpet or do you insist on removing the carpet from that area? With such large wardrobes they could be unstable and possibly move if just sat on the carpet. Interested to know your thoughts.

I can cover it but it won’t be brief😂
Basically I cut the carpet back for all my built in furniture. I will do a little talk for Thursday and Fridays install!
      Cheers❤

Pretty sure the very first piece you did was the one that was slightly off. Maybe it had something to do with how the banding was loaded when you first started. I noticed it at about the 1 minute 10 second mark of your timelapse. 🤷‍♂️

Ha ha. Just checked it! You’re right😊 I don’t have a prize tho!
It was probably me not being in a rhythm of pushing the tape through. It’s not always there sometimes it’s just that the guides get to clogged or the tape gets too hot and sags and then it comes off track. Tbh as long as you watch you can adjust but I obviously was not watching! Probably looking to make sure the camera light was on😂
      Thanks for watching
