Hi Myriam! I loved your tutorial. You are very funny, cheerful! I am discovering the painting with alcohol at the age of 64. I'm in love. Thank you for your tutorial. Gratitude.
Oh my gosh you need to teach basic drawing classes!! I have never been able to draw anything that you can hardly even tell what it is. I don't have the concept of something behind something in my mind. When you drew the first Wing closest to us I wanted to make that the furthest one in my mind and draw one somehow shooting straight off the paper out of the body. My mind just doesn't grasp certain art Concepts. But today following your elongated s and instructions, I actually Drew something that you could tell was a hummingbird. Not a great hummingbird, but you knew it wasn't an elephant, which is how a hummingbird might come out looking like before following what you said to do. 🤔 okay now that I've babbled on about what I did, oh my gosh look at what you did that is so so pretty. That Feathering technique with the micro brushes on the throat was awesome. And definitely the bigger brush that really worked for the body. I've been wanting to try something like this for a long time and so now I really got to get some alcohol ink paper and I'm actually going to try to do this. Oh and tell your mama she's got it going on purple and green is my favorite color combination. My absolute favorite color in the world is purple secondary is copper fortunately they look really good together. I figure purple is the only real color, blues are purple in training, and all other colors are simply purple wannabes. 😂
Thank you so so much for this remarkably kind and fun comment to read. It was a lovely way for me to end a long day. I am just delighted that drawing a bird was a good experience (though elephants are nice too 😉😁). You made me giggle quite a bit and, for what it’s worth, my first birds probably looked like frogs… or slugs maybe. Drawing is more a practice thing then anything else... do it a little every day and you will amaze yourself, I promise. Now about purple… I couldn’t agree with you more! I just loved your take on it. I can’t wait to share it with my mom… She will undoubtedly love it too. Thank you again for your kindness and wonderful humor. Happy art-ing! 😊😘💕
OH how I sooooo enjoyed watching you create this beauty! ! 💗 Humming Birds are very special to me, my late father adored these little guys, had feeders All over his yards and literally hundreds were attracted to his place. He'd get attached and was somehow able to tell them all apart 💗 I miss him so much and want to say thank you... I feel him here with me watching 💗 much love to you my friend 💗
This layering solution is certainly a game changer, you're converting us by the 1,000! It allows such fine detail that would otherwise be lost. I don't think I dare to start figurative painting with alcohol inks without it but I DO dare now to start getting a lot more experimental due to your teaching, thank you so much!
WOW - and I thought the flowers were gorgeous on their own ! Just look how stunning it is now !!! I just wish it was as easy to do as you make it seem . lol Thank you . Kind regards - Judi - Australia
Myriam, you are an inspiration to an old retired guy. I am an aspiring folk artist looking to explore the possibilities. I was confused about alcohol inks until I came across your videos. Now I think I will plunge in there and try some of your techniques. Hugs to you!
My life you are so clever ..... Considering I can't even paint a black stick..... I think your brill ... And you crack me up with your laughing ... Just fab xxx
How cute is he. Wow this really helps to give it a 3 d look. I love it I will be watching a few more times. You read my mind I was hoping you could show how you draw. Loved this!
You’re right, Myriam: drawing the eye early sorts of give individuality and life to the little creature and helps one connect with it. I love those bright colors and ...well, you make it appear so easy to paint! Thank you for the encouragement to really dare attempt painting or creating, regardless of the number of mistakes one is likely to make over and over again, at first..LOVE YOU, Myriam !
That was so much fun to watch, it was awesome! Thank you....and PS.....when I paint an animal , I also paint in the eyes first,That way I can see into its soul and he can supervise how I'm doing! :) Thank you so much!
Hey Myraim! Oh my goodness!! Your hummingbird is totally gorgeous! You did a wonderful job painting him!! Btw...I’ve googled pictures of hummingbirds there are so many colors of them. Purple is my favorite color! Thank you for sharing, thank you for the inspiration and thank you for being you! 💜💜💜
