About Emeroy:

He has danced with international organizations like Culture Shock, Hit The Floor Productions, GEC Entertainment, and performed for the Los Angeles Rose Parade, international artist Jonalyn Viray, and competed internationally at Hip Hop International and is a two time City of Alhambra B-boy Champion.
As a health coach, he's been coaching for several years and was featured on Time Warner's Get Fit. He's helped hundreds of individuals not only burn fat and build muscle, but also create a healthy active lifestyle so that people no longer have to yo-yo.
He's recognized for his zen style leadership. Combine that with his passionate vision of guiding others to become their best selves, gives him an authority when it comes to personal transformation. Whether it be through dance or fitness classes, he coaches individuals to gain the confidence they seek and get they results they never thought was possible.

What I really like about this choreo is that they took full advantage from the fact that it was not going to be stages with audience (due to Covid) so they had more freedom to switch where the formation is facing. If they had a fixed front stage I don't know how they would do it... Maybe we'll see if he perform this again now that things are getting better
It wasn't meant to be a formal release, he just released it as a "mixtape", he gave the song out for free and shot a music video but Carats loved it so much they decided to film that choreo video with Studio Choom and perform it once here: ruclips.net/video/P0aOQRZbtQA/видео.html If he ever performs it again it'll probably be at a concert, otherwise this is all we'll get for Spider
Well in fact that was not why he decided on the formation... It was because wanted to be different and the space 3 dimensional thats why he did all like a passing throgh each stage of the room
@@yasnagonzalezsanchez that's true but i don't think him saying that conflicts with op's point, if he was doing a music show stage with a live audience he wouldn't be able to explore the space like that. it could be possible at a concert though if the stage is surrounded by fans on multiple sides
“It’s almost like he’s trying to break through the spider web.”
That’s what the song is about, funnily enough. Whenever Hoshi choreographs, he tends to make sure the choreo matches the song itself, so it’s usually very lyrical and/or conceptual with him. With Spider, the song is about being with someone and the lyrics compare that to a prey being stuck in a spider web. The choreography reflects that; that’s why there are several moments where it seems like Hoshi is “trapped” and he’s trying to escape. But the song is also contradictory because while he tries to escape, he’s also liking being trapped. In the final verse, he sings: I want to remain in this place together with you / So that we, who are entangled, cannot escape, i.e. in the end, he surrenders, and in the choreography, he falls down on his knees and the female dancers form a spider web behind him, signifying that he’s “trapped” with the person forever (and it’s not necessarily something he dislikes, despite his attempts to abscond, as he sings in the chorus: Even when I act like I don’t like it, baby, I like it, baby).
In short, stockholm syndrome?
Fun fact: Hoshi was voted as the 2nd best dancer in Kpop industry by junior idols. He is looked up by many ppl I’m so proud of him!
This song lacked promotion when it was released months ago, but it’s actually one of the best performance/choreography/music production in 2021. It’s so unique. Spider deserves more attention!

it wasn't that the song lacked promotion actually. it's a mixtape and was released for free~ it's on gdrive and dropbox 😂 and in an interview, hoshi mentioned that spider allowed him to be the most freely expressive as an artist bc he didn't have to be concerned about charting. it is purely his passion and art; showing what he is capable of at this point in his life and career as Hoshi the artist. i have so much respect for him (he's also my ult). that said, spider does deserve more attention. it's unfortunate that bc it's a mixtape, it isn't available on the korean streaming sites like melon and genie...also to everyone who sees this comment, seventeen will be coming back in october, please support hoshi and seventeen 😊
Seventeen have the most interactive choreo I've ever seen and the main reason behind is Hoshi!
Hoshi's chemistry with Team Same always produces amazing work he's basically part of the crew ahaha He's very lyrical so there's bits that really pop out if you listen to the lyrics but even without knowing Korean you picked up on what it meant and that's so cool that what he wanted to say comes across so clearly in the choreography.

Hoshi always tries to translate the lyrics through his choreo hence a lot of "cob webs" choreo. In Dont Wanna Cry he involved a blickering light section to translate the sadness and emotion. In Thanks, they incorporated the sign language of thank you to their choreo. Many many more, it's as if they're telling a story everytime that they're nickname is the Theatre Kids of KPOP ❤
The intro where he hung on the pole took so long to practice for Hoshi that you can see actual blisters on the palms of his hands. It took soooo much core strength and control. Any wrong move can end up with him falling or feeling dizzy

Hoshi is really one of the great performer in K-pop. And because he is the leader of the performance unit in their group, he wants to show what he is capable of.
Seventeen in general has probably the best choreography, very much so thanks to Hoshi and his team

Thank you for reacting to Hoshi. Hoshi really is a great artist, dancing and singing wise. As the performance leader, he has helped choreograph almost all of Seventeen's choreo and it never fails to translate everytime he gets a solo stage. Hoshi needs to be appreciated more, so is Seventeen, their art never fails to impress me as a Carat and even their juniors

I also wanna say that I’m pretty sure Hoshi did choreograph this himself. I also think i remember that he was also credited for composing and writing the lyrics too. (correct me if I’m wrong tho lol)

Team Same (who usually helps SVT with their choreographies too) choreographed this with Hoshi!! He wrote the lyrics but it was composed by Woozi and Bumzu!!!!

yeah, back then, hoshi was more prominent in choreographing but over time, it has become an increasingly collaborative experience (creating a 13 member choreography takes a lot of time and seventeen is so busy, it's not possible to do it all alone anymore). even though he and seventeen performance team members are not credited (who knows why exactly), they do participate in the choreo.

5:49 i have to agree and i'm very proud to be a seventeen fan bcs they are really clever in using props! it's not only Hoshi, very early song of them is Pretty U and they already used sofa in a very musical-ish way and very entertaining imo :)
I hope you get to see the MV I Love this studio choom version but every version he did was a masterpiece I can-t decided if the mv or the MNET performance is my fave but I hope you get to see the other customs for the MV. I love them because they are so genderless (?) and misterious that it really gives me chills the aura of spiderness
Loved this reaction and analysis, very intheresting to watch! I think it's one of the best solo choreo in k-pop I've ever seen. Also I don't know why, but I really loved how expressive and dramatic his fingers were. You can see them better in music video. And those thick black rings just draw more attention to fingers.

When you were recording this video.. did you know that he was the main dancer and the one who helps in making(?) of the choreographies of seventeen ?
23:49 ok, but also there’s asthma, allergies, and several autoimmune diseases that cause shortness of breath. People can be perfectly fit, and as healthy as they’ve ever been but struggle to breathe dancing in a mask. I hate that it makes breathing harder, but to work up my lung strength for dance I wear the mask on the treadmill most days. Just saying, we’re trying
