I made one of these about a month ago before Easter at a craft class and I rubbed my glass ornament (round one) back and forth in my hands like I was warming my hands up from a cold day..and it totally warmed up the ink and made it even in the bulb, turned out fantastic I used two colors teal and pink and then I added some glitter / gave it a solar look/ I had some fishing line about 4 4inch pieces that I put hot glue on and manipulated the glue to look like small orbits and stars and dropped a glob of glue to the bottom of the bulb and added the separated fishing lines and let me tell you it turned out beautiful..I hung them on some spring rods and put them in my grandsons bedroom window and he loves them and hey so do I and his parents. we are on to something good now.
Thank you so much for commenting. I’m thinking of even more things to do with these ornaments now. Do you mean the ornaments themselves? Someone gave them to me, and they were old. I haven’t been able to find any more in those shapes. But I’ll be on the lookout and share if I come across any!
Wrap a piece of paper into a cone shape and tape it. Also, get a little squeeze bottle with a pointed tip, fill it with alcohol and just squeeze dots of alcohol over the dark spots and it will disperse the ink and you'll get more interesting designs without the dark drips. It will also help move the glitter.
Thank you so much for the helpful tips. I had been wondering about alcohol on one of those long cotton swabs. In other alcohol ink projects, I have used felt squares too. But now I’m tempted to get some more ornaments and try your suggestions!😀
@@CreativeSolaceStudios Good luck! I hope you get better results. And the cone with your desired hole size at the bottom will get the glitter into the ornament and not just stuck on the side and without a mess. 🙂

I appreciate your comments so much. They were given to me, not in packaging, but they did have tiny tags on them . . . that I have discarded. Let me do a little investigating and see what I can find out. I especially love the tear drop shaped ones.😀
The tiny tags said “Holiday” on it, and they were not purchased this year, so it’s possible that they’re not made any more, but I’m still doing some investigating.

I love the idea of rolling it back and forth like warming your hands. And fascinating techniques with the fishing line. Thanks for sharing!😀

I tried some, and I didn’t get the right amount because it took too much color away. Will have to try this project again!😀
