Coming here after banging out the Off Season…love that album but I really miss Cole when he was out proving to the game that he needs to be respected, truly one of the elites
I grew up listening to This nigga. It excites me bcoz, i done heard more advices from j cole than my whole Family. Not comparing, but, this Niga plays a very important role on my life. África Mozambique
I remember when this came out. I revisit it periodically and always feel a sense of nostalgia when I hear the first 2 tracks. Absolutely incredible. This mixtape definitely holds a special place in my heart ❤
I'm proud as hell to say he did the majority of his growing up in Fayetteville in my home state of NC. We used to only really be able to shout out Little Brother but now we can be proud as fuck to say the best of this era and probably one of the greatest ever, mentioned in the same breath as Nas, along with Cordae also who is dope while from here as well!
@@dsfsdfdsfsdf-rs6qq Actually he was a millionaire when this dropped. That's why he shout out his forthcoming album "Born Sinner". Prior to this he already released what was supposed to be his debut album "Friday Night Lights" but label didn't think he had amassed enough momentum so it was released as a free download. It contains hits like "In The Morning" and "Home For The Holidays". Then after he dropped Cole World: The Sideline Story, which had a couple of hits like Work Out and Nobody's Perfect. These were sessions btwn CW: TSLS and Born Sinner.
Sitting in the ville right now and the fact that this ep still under the radar to most cole fans is crazy. kenny loften and 3 wish are two of his most underrated gems
"Kenny Lofton" feat. Jeezy is a classic that should be up there with "Let Nas Down", "Role Modelz", "Love Yourz", "Middle Child", "False Prophets", "FYEO", "3 Wish", "Javari", "95 South", "Pi" feat. Ab-Soul & Daylyt and all the features he's been killing people on like "Johnny P's Caddy" by Benny the Butcher feat. Cole for example!
Coming back to this brings me back to 2013 when I first heard Cole on Kenny Lofton. Jamming out omw to the basketball courts on my bike to meet up with my friends during summer vacation. Staying out way later than I’m supposed to be while it’s still warm out at night bullshittin. Such a beautiful time to be alive. Damn, time flies. This mixtape is like a time capsule for me, bringing back fond memories. Love it.
When it's all over I think Nas and Cole are gonna be looked at as the GOATs! I think Pac, Rakim, Big Pun, Prodigy, Eminem and Biggie will be the others that people will argue about which ones belong on the Hip Hop Mount Rushmore. I could be wrong but think Nas is already there with his catalog and Cole just keeps on climbing to the top! They should make the doubters and haters listen to "Kenny Lofton" off here because it gets lost as one of his classic joints in my opinion!
Sittin brand new Hand on hand Understand too Chance no chance Fold the dude Band gone jam and bam gone bam too Damn old man Keep on standing on his manhood Passing a backwood Only speak facts and attack when a man should I’m past and the man to it

@@folasona Facts. I always think bout this... Cole had the skills of an all time great rapper since the mid 00s. imagine sitting on all that talent and not having the world show you the love you deserve... created that GRIND mentality and he made some of his best music from 2007-2012,
Can anyone think of another song like in 3 wishes where the artist reminisces on a time where they were a child and they recall feeling powerless to a family member being abused and wanting to scare/shoot the abuser with a gun, driving me crazy, don't know if i just heard this song a while back or if someone like kendrick or q has a song like it
Man J Cole pulled me through so many situations during my late teens early 20s.. I’m 33 and still listening to all his old classics
I'm in my mid 20s more relatable in this era because IM a late bloomer

It blows my mind how severely underrated and unknown this ep is even a decade later.
