Hallo. Es gibt mittlerweile von Fat-Alfie (David Pemberton) eine sehr schöne Version der Strecke für Assetto Corsa: www.racedepartment.com/downloads/deutschlandring.25977/

Superb! It's fascinating to see how you have interpreted the track. With so little information available about how it might have looked in the past, it's very interesting to see that you recreated it in a fairly similar way to me (for Assetto Corsa). Your elevation changes look much more fun to drive than mine though :)

The changes in pitch in that first, ultra-high-speed sector do look more dramatic in this version, but the great detail in surroundings and all those extra little wiggle-waggles in your iteration make the track, especially in the second, forest sector, seem decidedly narrower and more challenging. They also bring out the smaller undulations more. And at least 3 of those hairpins in the third, hillclimb sector appear tighter in your recreation of the circuit.
Certainly, for someone who's more casual about it, this reproduction could be seen to have a better flow in some ways, and be more fun. This version is probably also significantly easier to race on. That said, on balance, and no disrespect to the creators of this one, I think I prefer your mod for AC.

    Looks amazing.
Should come to GPL one day :) Probably comes with the 30s mod?

That would be great but it is technically not possible to convert a track from GTL to GPL.
From GPL to GTL is possible, but sadly not the other way round.
That`s why we see many conversion from Grand Prix Legends to GTL, GTR2, rFactor, ... but no conversion from modern sims to GPL.

I want to modify a car from Gtl using blender or similar 3D modeling program. How is this possible? Are there any tutorials for what I want to do? Please help!

And sorry for being ignorant - is this a fictional track or a historic track?

    • @Villoresi

It was a real proposal for a track, but it was never built. It's kind of like the Lime Rock Mountain Circuit.

Oh, thanks for info! So, Lime Rock Mountain Circuit was an actual proposal as well? Interesting, and quite ambitious. Simracing certainly learns you a lot about motorsport history :-)

You are wrong. It was built.
From 1926 to 1933 the Hohenstein Hillclimb race was held 5 times on the last third part of the Deutschlandring track.
After six years of construction (1933-1939) the Deutschlandring was finished.
Finally even the "Big Loop" was integrated to get the demanded track length of 10 kilometers. The government wanted to replace the Nürburgring with the Deutschlandring.
Manfred von Brauchitsch did the most test laps.
At the opening of the track on April 1939 a show race of 3 laps was done, while the trackside buildings that where planned where not yet built.
After the 2nd World War a motorcylce race was held but was stopped because of a fatal accident. This was the last race on the Deutschlandring.
The German Democratic Republic (DDR) dismantled many parts of the track.

You can take the edge off there.
If you have knowledge of a more comprehensive racing circuit database, by all means, share it.
Of the four worldwide circuit databases I check somewhat regularly, two list it as a proposal and nothing more. One indicates it was built, but basically has no information, and the fourth is rather newer and still quite light on old, out-of-use tracks, so it doesn't even have the Deutschlandring yet.

The route is very good, but the height ratio is not real ;)

    • @GPLWORLD
      @GPLWORLD  6 лет назад

A KML file with the correct height data would be much appreciated by the track maker.
Is there anyone who can provide the correct height data?
