I recently bought a DSLR and decided to test out the video recording feature to see how it would compare to my phone videos in terms of quality. It’s had its ups and downs the first time round as seen in this video (i.e. poor focus/quality, audio recording level too high) however after exploring the settings, I’m pretty sure I can rectify these issues for future videos. One thing I prefer with the DSLR is that it shoots wider-angle videos compared to my phone, making the ride seem less sluggish. These videos are more of a hassle to import and edit than the phone videos however I personally think that the overall quality is better; another thing to note is that I’ve become more engaged in photography and less obsessed with videography so a camcorder isn’t worth buying for me at the moment.
