Having lost my hair a few times to chemo, I highly recommend everyone do this at least once in their lifetime. It’s so incredibly empowering! You don’t have to have “a certain face” or perfect bone structure. All you need is the will to allow yourself to not GAF! I hope everyone here tries once.
I was thinking the same thing. I was told after my first chemo that my hair would start falling out at about two weeks. I had my husband shave my head before it did. I agree with you: it is empowering! The hair on your head doesn’t make you YOU. It’s your spirit, your smile, and your strength.
Fresh off the boat so to speak! My new buzz cut is so liberating and I felt so light after I had it done (Friday last) Now I decided to spend a bit more time on playing with doing my make up ❤️ in a way it forces me to make a bigger effort to be more feminine in other ways. She looks stunning. Watching her on the couch before and after...She looks ten years younger👌
I did this haircut at the start of the pandemic. I was already grown out gray but was showing significant hair loss due to thyroid disease. Hands down, the best decision I have ever made! So easy to maintain and I love how playing with makeup is so much more fun. Be bold ladies, take the plunge!
I did it at home 10+ years ago after disgust with coloring and scalp issues. I LOVED IT. Many thought I had lost it but I truly enjoyed it. I'm considering doing it again! Bravo to all who do it!
I love when she's slowly petting her hair when you stepped away for a minute. I know how amazing that feels. I still do that all the time and I've had a buzz since September. She has a look of euphoria on her face when you're working your magic. She looks stunning and will definitely turn heads.
I've been buzzing my gray hair for the past two years because of chemo/radiation therapy for thyroid carcinoma. This is by far the VERY BEST buzz cut I have seen in that time. I'm getting my hair buzzed tomorrow and this is THE cut I am getting. It is absolutely gorgeous and the barber is one of the most skilled I have ever seen. If I could go to see him, I most definitely would.
I actually did this 2 years ago after getting bloody tired of paying a fortune to color my hair. I asked my hairdresser how short I could go to lessen the pain of growing out the grey. She didn’t give me a total buzz but it was almost as short. I loved it from day 1. Total freedom and silver grey.
Don't get me wrong, but what I do not understand is, who forced you to dye your hair? And why do you not feel the need to color your hair since it is short? I really don't get it, just as I never understood when women act as if someone would acutally force them to do it. I know women who always and rightfully said 'To hell with everyone having a problem with that!' and who look beautiful with grey or white hair. I am especially thinking of a woman I knew who started to turn grey in her mid-30s, never gave a crap and looked amazing.
I want to get the nerve up to do this! I'm sick of coloring my white hair med/dark brown. It would be so easy to care for and no growing out my color. Is it hard to grow out?
No matter how many times I grow my hair out a little, I always do back to short. I feel far sexier and more like myself with short hair. For anyone thinking about it, I'd say go for it.
Best day of hair freedom for me was deciding to buzz my mid length curly hair at length 2 - my salt and pepper greys and thinning hair suddenly looked great and omg the freedom of not having to fuss with it anymore!!! This was three years ago ❤️ She looks fantastic! Modern and beautiful.
This woman is beautiful, with or without super short hair. As a Hairdresser, my clients loved that I had the confidence to wear super short hair, and sometimes they left with the same haircut. I still wear my hair super short, and grey. "I am woman, hear me roar!" =)

It is so liberating! I went from down to my waist to short, not as short as shown but almost, but with more spikes left in front and on top. A woman gets to be age where needs to be more than her hair and more than the stereotype it puts her in. Well done her!

I went back to the beginning of the video for comparison, and she looks younger and sassier with the buzz cut. I love her widow's peak. You did a great and thorough job.
Cutting off all your hair when it's been damaged through bleaching allows the hair to grow healthily from the roots again. I did it myself last year and my hair has grown back somewhat thicker. :)
She looks great! I've always buzz cut my husband's hair, so at the start of pandemic last year I did my own and still do it, but not that short. I start with#8 and go #6 then #4 up the sides and back. Wouldn't have it any other way now 😁
I had my hair this short once when I was doing a lot of traveling and didn't want to carry a lot of hair care paraphernalia. Most liberating thing I've ever done. Am thinking of going back to it now!

I feel the same... Thought i could let my hair grow... but it is driving me crazy. I will have to cut it myself for the first time. I wish Rene was closer... like in Canada
I love these videos!! I also wanted such a cut and asked my hairdresser to cut my hair that short, but she refused!!! Can u believe it? She said, a woman should look like a woman!!! I was so disappointed and angry! I watched many tutorials on RUclips, bought a haircut machine und cut my hair myself with the lovely support of a good friend. The cut was no perfect, but very nice!! And I will carry on cutting my hair exactly the way I want!! 🤗
I LOVE your story. Thank you so much for writing it. I had almost the same experience. That old thinking and talking belongs in the 1950’s with arrogant and self-absorbed men.... Not now. Hair-length has nothing to do with femininity or masculinity. Period.
Great head. Beautiful gray hair! I buzzed my mom's hair because she was losing a lot and they weren't shiny and healthy anymore. Chimo. When I was done, I gave her my clipper and sat down so she can do mine. I loved it.
This is by far one of the most beautiful cuts you've ever done! Irmelin comes in looking a bit boring house wife-ish and finishes stylish, strong and sexy. Wow! And that smile? She just sparkles! Thank you Rene, for another beautiful transformation.
Loved the cheeky-sneaky little feel of the back!!!! 😉😍 Absolutely stunning! I can't help but notice how her beautiful giggly side came out when she admired the style on herself when all finished. It's that feeling of liberation & almost a child-like cuteness of being your innerself again before you started caring what other people thought. I was just the same! I had waist length hair until March 2023. Had it cut into a pixie on my 50th birthday. Now just this past weekend my son buzzed it for me & I love it 😃🥰 This video was also an eye opener for me. Seeing here all the grey underneath immediately. My hair is still so dark. I'm amazed I didn't end up grey like this lady! I guess I'm doing well & very lucky!! I'm now considering going even shorter! Well done to you both for making & sharing this wonderful transformation!!!! 🙏🏻🙌🏻🥰🤗
Love it. I had my silver/white hair buzzed two years ago, and have never looked back. My little grandson and I share the same "do! She looks wonderful.
Great haircut!!! Looks terrific on her! I am 2 weeks into my own buzz cut though I left just a little bang. Makeup 💄 has been fun to play with. Can finally wear those bold looks I have admired on others ❣️🥰
Awesome cut and gorgeous lady .. i took shoulder length hair to a buzz cut then shaved my head. Its so freeing and liberating. Good on ya lady xx well done young man xx
@@joebuehler - Love it, always worn it short & my hairdresser has always used scissors, but in our 1st lockdown l went for it & it looks just the same, so doing mine all the time.
I feel relaxed watching this video. I’d like to have my hair done like that. It’s so relaxing for me and feels like some of weights on my shoulders dropped. I’ve been thinking about having my hair buzzed like this one. I love it and she looks fab!
Well it seems to me that “true beauty” can be created in a beauty parlor if that’s what a woman wants to do. Jesus when did people get so damned judge-y on here? I’m so over this. “True Beauty” is anything a woman wants it to be. Dammit.
She looks so beautiful. She pulls this style so beautiful too. I love how she just said let’s do this. Her personality is perfect, she loves life and it shows. Amazing!!
Excellent decision by Irmelin, she is very pretty, extremely elegant and she chose the right cut for her hair, it is no coincidence that the video has almost reached a million views, I never tire of watching it, Blessings.
Every time I see these videos, I want to get a buzzcut again. The feeling is amazing, very freeing. She looks spectacular with her glorious short grey hair.
Thank you. That is exactly what I was looking for...a video about an older woman getting buzzed. I am 72 and really want to do it. I don't have hair, I have feathers. So now I am GOING to get buzzed. Thank that lovely woman for me❤😊
Love it!!! I just turned 50 and decided to get rid of all my bleach blonde and went to a very short pixie crop to go all natural! Tired of covering grays so decided to embrace them! She looks beautiful! Great job!!!
Beautiful! You did a fabulous job! I am nearing 60 and I have always wanted to do this. But I don't know if I can pull if off as well as Irmelin. She is beautiful and has stunning facial features.
I was just thinking about doing this! I thought if I was ever going to see my natural hair color I had better do it before I died! I am tired of highlighting my hair! If her hair grows as fast as mine she’ll see it soon! 💕
Love it! It takes courage to have a buzzcut. I have gone to my natural color. It took about 9 months. Wish I would have done the Buzzcut! It shows off your beautiful eyes.
Tend to agree (at approx 4.0 mins) hair in the nape of the neck does give it a far more feminine feel , women with short hair are extremely attractive (well done for such a bold move)
A couple times I felt like she was thinking what did I just do. Her face looked sad. But what a gorgeous woman. She had a good head shape and can wear any style
I thought her face looked sad before the cut. I felt like there was a " Start over" feeling for the cut. I could be wrong, but something just says she is going through some stuff. She beautiful, before and after, I hope she knows it.
I am 37 and had a Buzzcut 2 Weeks ago. Man, I am totally gray and I did not noticed it for 2 years (2 years ago I had my last buzzcut). I like it. I am ash blonde, the most ugly natural hair color in the world. Gray is way better than my original hair color 😂
@@AlexandraVioletta . Well done you. I can tell that you wear it well. I have grey hair in patches ...... but I'm not quite there with the buzz cut for now. Our lockdown in the UK eases next month. Hairdressers will be opened on 12 April and I have my hair apt for colour etc on April 14. It will be 6-months since my last apt!!!!!!
So many women hang onto their hair as an object of "femininity". And I actually think the opposite is true. A woman's features are no longer hidden by a mop of hair, and the buzz cut appears both delicate & fierce at the same time!!! The actress Ruby Rose is another example of someone who can rock a buzz cut, and as for us women of more "mature" years, look at Jamie Curtis. She may not have a buzz cut, but her hair is super short, and I think she looks more beautiful than she ever did with longer hair 🙂 I hope this enables more women to be bold. I buzzed mine 3 months ago (not the first time) and it's already long enough to set in curlers. Hair grows back. Go for it! Great job, and beautiful client ❤️

Thanks for sharing this Tesera! Switching between styles is awesome😀😀
I feel the same... Thought i could let my hair grow... but it is driving me crazy. I will have to cut it myself for the first time. I wish Rene was closer... like in Canada
Awesome!! It almost makes me want to shave off all of mine! 😁
Ahh what a shame they refused… Glad you did it yourself 😀
I LOVE your story. Thank you so much for writing it. I had almost the same experience. That old thinking and talking belongs in the 1950’s with arrogant and self-absorbed men.... Not now. Hair-length has nothing to do with femininity or masculinity. Period.
Great head. Beautiful gray hair! I buzzed my mom's hair because she was losing a lot and they weren't shiny and healthy anymore. Chimo. When I was done, I gave her my clipper and sat down so she can do mine. I loved it.
That’s so sweet of you, amazing gesture
She looks beautiful. I’ve had a buzzed haircut before and it is so freeing.
Cool!
I just buzzed my head last night and I love how it feels
A short pixie is the most freeing feeling! ❤️
@@AmericanIdolQueen84 I’d love to see it ☺️
This is by far one of the most beautiful cuts you've ever done! Irmelin comes in looking a bit boring house wife-ish and finishes stylish, strong and sexy. Wow! And that smile? She just sparkles! Thank you Rene, for another beautiful transformation.
Wauw, thanks Michael!
She has a beautiful face!! She looks amazing!! I love it!!
Thanks LuAnn!
Loved the cheeky-sneaky little feel of the back!!!! 😉😍
Absolutely stunning!
Now just this past weekend my son buzzed it for me & I love it 😃🥰
This video was also an eye opener for me.
Cool! Thanks for sharing your story😀😀
Great haircut!!! Looks terrific on her! I am 2 weeks into my own buzz cut though I left just a little bang. Makeup 💄 has been fun to play with. Can finally wear those bold looks I have admired on others ❣️🥰
Sound like a fun cut leaving a little bit of bangs!
Beautiful, much younger looking.
May have to do this.❤️
Go for it Linda, it’s just hair and grows back
Even the pattern in which her hair grows is beautiful.
It’s like she has chinchilla fur for her new ‘do. Great cut!
Haha a chinchilla😅
I had my hair buzzed about 3 years ago. I never went back to longer hair. Your client looks beautiful ❤️
Thnx!
Awesome cut and gorgeous lady .. i took shoulder length hair to a buzz cut then shaved my head. Its so freeing and liberating. Good on ya lady xx well done young man xx
Wauw, that’s sounds cool! Thanks for sharing your story Oryn!
Wow great day and night cut 💯.You got to rebook her again when all that marvelous silver grows out💕💕to see that👋👋
Already in the books! And on the tube soon
@@HFDZK cool can't wait to see 👍👍👍
First l thought eeek when you started at the front, but it looks great & really suits her. Shaved hair feels lovely!
That EEEK, was exactly how this video was meant:P
@@HFDZK - It worked !!!!
@@philiprogers2454 - Thank you ! I've just shaved it actually but not as short !
@@janicetaylor2486 how do you like it
@@joebuehler - Love it, always worn it short & my hairdresser has always used scissors, but in our 1st lockdown l went for it & it looks just the same, so doing mine all the time.
It is really sad that we place so much aesthetic value on hair. Hair doesn’t equal beauty.
That’s true, although it’s my job to sell haircuts😜
No it doesn't but I sure would love to have a headful of beautiful hair. 😂
Try telling that to all the shallow women who hate bald guys :)
Beautiful!! I did the same 3 years ago and it's still growing. So healthy and natural. Love it!
Cool! Thanks for sharing Alexandra
I feel relaxed watching this video. I’d like to have my hair done like that. It’s so relaxing for me and feels like some of weights on my shoulders dropped. I’ve been thinking about having my hair buzzed like this one. I love it and she looks fab!
I wish every female would do this once: so freeing. 🙌🏻🌟💡
Stunning and her easy Spirit shines through.
I love it . Its my turn next 🥰
I did it years ago....and going to do it very soon again.....im 67 years and just going for it....
I would shave also if I looked that lovely.
Not I! You have to have a great head shape to carry this off! Even the circus wouldn’t hire me if I did this!,
I did it 5 stays ago. I'm 72. I couldn't stand to see the transformation to off it went. Not sorry at all
Cool Josie!
Good for you. I’m 71 and my hair is thin, a buzz cut makes it look thicker, I’ll never let my hair grow long until I’m gone. LoL!
Woo-hoo! I'm 71 and have been shaving my head for more than 25 years!
Just turned 71 and I’m thinking of taking it ultra short.
@@gracielou4075 Do it because it feels great! 😊 Besides, its hair and it'll grow back if ya don't like it short! 🙂
She looks amazing and has the perfect head shape for this style.
Just confirming true beauty is not created in a parlour!
😀😀
Well it seems to me that “true beauty” can be created in a beauty parlor if that’s what a woman wants to do. Jesus when did people get so damned judge-y on here? I’m so over this. “True Beauty” is anything a woman wants it to be. Dammit.
Beautiful. I did the same thing 9 months ago...hair down to my waist to 1/2 inch. I have a round face and short neck but it feels wonderful!
Wow! That sounds like a huge change😅
She looks so beautiful. She pulls this style so beautiful too. I love how she just said let’s do this. Her personality is perfect, she loves life and it shows. Amazing!!
Cool Carmen!
She looks so elegant!
Beautiful work H!🌹
I agree! And thanks Daisy!
I’d love to see her saunter into a restaurant where her friends are waiting and then see her new cut!! Blown away. ☮️💟
Ohw that would have been cool to see indeed!
She's beautiful and the next do will be exciting with her new found courage
Looking forward to that as well!
❤❤❤❤ so pretty. You look so much younger and prettier
Excellent decision by Irmelin, she is very pretty, extremely elegant and she chose the right cut for her hair, it is no coincidence that the video has almost reached a million views, I never tire of watching it, Blessings.
Thanks a lot!
Every time I see these videos, I want to get a buzzcut again. The feeling is amazing, very freeing. She looks spectacular with her glorious short grey hair.
She ist made for this haircut😊👍 she looks like a real lady
That's exactly my thought when we were done, she looked so much more sophisticated!
So chic!!
@@Sandra_Jo You mean like the sissy men of today's world?!!!! I think she looks wonderful.
Love it! I did my own this spring at 60 years of age and although I loved it, I’ve decided to try the style this lady had before the cut!
Awesome Tammy! Keeping it or are you growing it out again?
Thank you. That is exactly what I was looking for...a video about an older woman getting buzzed. I am 72 and really want to do it. I don't have hair, I have feathers. So now I am GOING to get buzzed. Thank that lovely woman for me❤😊
Ahh that’s cool, let me know how it worked out😀😀
Looks good! No more of that icky bleached-blonde look. Great transformation!
I agree! Thanks Corrie
she's so beautiful. well done! (what's the music in the beginning before you are starting to trim?)
Thank you Birgit! The music is Paper Navy - Swan Song
The confidence is making the client even more beautiful! 👍
:D thnx Shen!
Great video and result. She looks very beautiful.
Thanks Mark!
Love it!!! I just turned 50 and decided to get rid of all my bleach blonde and went to a very short pixie crop to go all natural! Tired of covering grays so decided to embrace them! She looks beautiful! Great job!!!
Wooow thats sounds cool, now I’m curious!😜
Beautiful! You did a fabulous job! I am nearing 60 and I have always wanted to do this. But I don't know if I can pull if off as well as Irmelin. She is beautiful and has stunning facial features.
Go for it! It's just hair and grows back
I was just thinking about doing this! I thought if I was ever going to see my natural hair color I had better do it before I died!
I am tired of highlighting my hair! If her hair grows as fast as mine she’ll see it soon! 💕
That’s cool Connie!
Do it - you won’t regret it
I did it 3 years ago and mine in past my shoulders, would be longer but I have had some hair cuts 😁
she's gorgeous, and you did a great job.
:D:D
A beautiful woman like this lady looks good in any haircut. Going all grey is the way to do it.
Amei! Ela ficou mais jovem e livre! Eu tb penso fazer p mesmo😍🤗
Parabéns pelo corte.
Será que la permaneceu com os cabelos curtinhos?
No back to long
Love it! It takes courage to have a buzzcut. I have gone to my natural color. It took about 9 months. Wish I would have done the Buzzcut! It shows off your beautiful eyes.
Would be easier! But cool you embrace the greys😀😀
Looks great.
IMHO, I think it looked more feminine when it was first shaved all 1 length.
No need to fade it like a man's haircut.
Thanks for letting us know!
Who are you to determine what is feminine or not feminine?
@@jusssayin480 I said IMHO. I am a woman. Others are free to disagree with me.
Tend to agree (at approx 4.0 mins) hair in the nape of the neck does give it a far more feminine feel , women with short hair are extremely attractive (well done for such a bold move)
Love it!! She looks great! Very sophisticated and edgy!
That's exactly what I tought, sophisticated!
A couple times I felt like she was thinking what did I just do. Her face looked sad. But what a gorgeous woman. She had a good head shape and can wear any style
She was super happy in the end! I can imagine the shock when you see your blond locks fall down

I thought her face looked sad before the cut. I felt like there was a " Start over" feeling for the cut. I could be wrong, but something just says she is going through some stuff. She beautiful, before and after, I hope she knows it.
Shoulder length……I did it! I feel freedom. No regrets. I am 79 and am tired of blow drying/styling. Thank you for sharing. ❤️
Wauw, amazing!!!
Beautiful! I did this 3 years ago to embrace the grey, it’s very liberating ❤️
Cool!!!
UK: when I finally decide to embrace my grey hair, I will absolutely have a buzz cut. Your client looked really sophisticated in her new style!
Isabelle, embrace them; grey rocks!
She may not have a buzz cut, but her hair is super short, and I think she looks more beautiful than she ever did with longer hair 🙂
I hope this enables more women to be bold. I buzzed mine 3 months ago (not the first time) and it's already long enough to set in curlers. Hair grows back. Go for it!
Great job, and beautiful client ❤️
Well said! And thanks a lot for the compliments Susanna!
She is very pretty and with that new haircut she got even more pretty. Superb cut, superb clip.
Thanks Thomas!
She's one awesome lady to do it. I did it a year ago and I loved it. Especially when it was hot out. Never felt cooler with the haircut.
Great Linda, thanks for sharing!
