I miss the band I was 22 when I left the Army. Sorry I ever did the greatest days of my life. The spirit the comes from music is something never replaced
I couldn't agree more. Aged 14 I began playing for Army services in 1952. I loved the music, songs, marching adlib etc. I am now 85 and recently returned to play monthly at a local Service but it's not the same. No Officers, instead a Mission Officer who supervises 3 local cities. I recently visited Melbourne and caught up with another ex-S/Army Officer. She visited, donned my late sister's bonnet and we sang songs for over half an hour from the old Songbook. It was pure joy!
my cousins and brother are in the Melbourne Staff Band and international Staff Band John Collinson and David I Philpot. God bless you as he blessed me growing up in the salvos. Truly a peaceful world within a world of chaos crisis and sadness!

Back in the 60's, I belonged to THE BOSTON CRUSADERS DRUM AND BUGLE CORPS and we National CYO and WORLD OPEN CHAMPIONS and we played this glorious piece of music for our Color Presentation in our routine. This arrangement brought back some wonderful memories.

it was a standard Drum Corps piece in the 60s… NY Skyliners, and St Catherine's Queensmen to name just two of many.
