It's funny, because I've always considered you to be a very "chill" booktuber. You never get into the "X is the best book/series/author/character to ever exist, and if you don't agree, you're wrong!" kind of talk, which I find very refreshing! :) Anyway, great video! My holy trinity of Booktube are Elliot, Merphy and Daniel... I could listen to them for hours... that said this was a great video to learn about more very talented booktubers. I actually know some of them from Worldhoppers :) This video was such a cool idea!

I think people are sleeping on XCatherineReads. She is the most interesting booktuber out there. She's also super funny and creative. She reads Sanderson, Star Wars and other fantasy/sci-fi books, but she also does thing that I don't really see other booktubers doing. Like...recently for the reading rush she read the bible for 7 days, she did a tier ranking for all the Midnight Sun book covers, she dressed a few of her books up and took them to prom with her.

Great idea! 😁 How about an opposite idea? Like, if you _DON'T_ like these books/authors, check out these booktubers? For example, I'm so tired of people recommending Sanderson to me just because I like long fantasy stories, even though I don't really like his stories/characters. It's so hard finding the Booktubers which first fantasy recommendation isn't Sanderson/Jordan/Tolkien/Rothfuss. That's why I really appreciated Samantha from Sam's Nonsense channel (even if our tastes don't completely align), but she doesn't really post any more, sadly 😭
I'll definitely check out Liene's Library tho, since you mentioned she isn't too big of a Sanderson fan 😁

I think Captured in Words is the first Booktube channel I ever watched! I know it’s where I first heard of Brandon Sanderson (& Mistborn). I decided last summer I was going to start reading more and break out of my mystery/James Patterson rut. I decided to see what RUclips had to offer to help me decide what to read next , and I stumbled onto his channel. His videos are very entertaining!

Thank God! I have a hard time finding booktubers with the same taste as me. I keep getting recommended the same exact channels over and over again. There are some where I really like the person, but I am never going to read the books that they do. Or I get the opposite problem where someone does have the same taste but I am just not into their channel. So I feel like I watch a lot of booktube, but very few booktube channels which leaves me with less diverse reading recommendations. I am really looking for some good horror based booktubers and some sci-fi peps.
This is exactly why people love you, Ell. You're so kind and thoughtful of others and it really shines through. I normally watch only you and 1 or 2 other "booktubers" but you have piqued my interest, so I'll definitely check them out. Happy reading!

Thanks for the recommendations. I've done a few searches for scifi/fantasy booktubes, but I mostly find people who have quit making videos or whose focus is not actually scifi/fantasy. Your channel is awesome. I hope you keep up the good work. Don't hate on your rap battle. It was really funny, even though I haven't finished Oathbringer yet and I think it spoiled a small aspect of it for me. (Not that I really mind. I've owned the book since it was released a few years ago and just haven't mustered the willpower to slog through it.)

That was my hope, too. I’ve yet to find a BookTuber whose tastes match my own.
I follow a couple of the people in this list already, but I will check out the others. One more suggestion... call me after coffee. She reads a lot of different kinds of books, but I would say mostly middle grade and YA. She's super chill and does vlogs one in a while.

Thanks for the great video. What I find sad is that there's very little sci-fi representation on BookTube. Is it so unpopular in comparison to fantasy or other genres?
Rachel at the TheShadesofOrange has amazing sci-fi content as well as Tori Morrow and Literature Science Alliance! They are where I get a lot of my recommendations for sci-fi! 😄

@@BedtimeBookworm Thanks! I already subscribe to them. I would add Kalanadi, Hypeword SFF and Media Death Cult to the list. The last one in particular has tons of older and less known titles that went straight to my TBR. I wish more channels ventured outside of the new and popular, so many times it's the same same book being featured on multiple channels at the same time.
