This video was very encouraging! I’m still very young at age 23 but I’m thinking of moving abroad. My friends and family are not happy about my decisions as there are risks that comes along when starting your life from scratch. But in the end I choose what’s best for me and hopefully it will work out 😢
I share a similar path. Fortunately, back in 2016, it was possible to afford an excellent Msc for a very affordable price in Stuttgart. Nowadays non-EU no longer pays that same tuition fee as EU students. Also moved to the Netherlands after that for a Product Manager role :)
Not sure I agree with the point about going back. I see many people who come to my country, don't succeed as fast or as much as they think they would, and then they move back to where they came from. And maybe they even feel better now about their home country, who knows. I think when you make such big changes in your life, it really helps to know that there is a place to go back to (even if you don't want to actually do this). It takes some pressure off. When I moved to Israel, I told myself "in the worst case, i can always go back" (even though I was pretty sure I would never go back).
Of course, knowing that there is a place where your family family is and people that will support you are gives a feeling of safety. What I really meant is that you can go “back”, but most likely it’s not really going to be the same place you’ve left. I had the same thought as you did, in fact I was looking forward to spend some time home with my family, but that time it felt different ❤️
Maria, thank you very much for your video! It is very intresting and inspiring🥰 could you please share your experince and thoughts on your career journey in future videos, as a recent graduate I am very curious to hear it😊
