I really appreciate this follow up episode. I was really looking forward to hearing more about the Mark Morton Jackson. I enjoyed the story behind the LAMB guitar.

Damn I'm pretty early! Sick setup man. It's great how you make things to help out the efficiency of your work makes your room really unique. Been watching the show for a while now and love what you do.

I think in theory at least, if I was trying to mix single coil and humbucker pups that shared a volume pot, I'd go 250k, but add a 250k resistor between the humbucker and pot to bring the resistance up to 500k for that pup. It shouldn't affect the single coils, because the VAC from them would take the path of least resistance, which would be that 250k pot. I've only had one HSS guitar in almost 40 years. A Japanese Dinky. The humbucker in it was very dark sounding, which now makes me wonder how it was wired -- after hearing you talk about it.
P.S. I have a black mexi Strat with maple neck and vintage style bridge that I put a black pickguard on and did the Gilmour 7-way wiring. Pups were from an old YJM Strat. I decided I like Strats better when other people play them, so lent it to my nephew. I set up another MIJ Jackson DInky with EMGs in drop C tuning for him, because he is a big LOG fan too. A total pain in the butt to do. Dialing in the truss rod was easy enough, but the trem for that tuning was a case of adjust, tune, adjust, tune, over and over. In the end I got a Schaller trem stopper sent over the ditch from Aussie. He's also a big Gilmour fan, so he's chuffed to get his hands on the Strat.

@Lambchoppers, On that Jackson Adrian strat and all other strats that have the truss rod at the end of the neck you can make it MUCH EASIER to adjust the neck!
There is a trick that myself and others use where you fully slack the strings with the floyd bar then take the neck off while the string are limp, Then you adjust it , put the neck back on , let the floyd's bar back to normal tension and you are done! Not only is the neck adjusted but you will still be in tune! Been doing this method for over 20 years now so please no one try to tell me this cannot be done or is harmful to the guitar! I was a guitar tech for years and never had a single issue doing this.

That neck would end up getting chucked if it was mine.
      What an asinine design.

I do take the neck off with this one sorry, exactly the same as you described. It’s my Charvel that the pick guard comes off as the neck is shimmed and glued.

For years you have been nailing the American thrash tones and they all sound great, but is there any chance we could get some of the German thrash tones and early death metal tones. I would love to hear your take on some of the unique guitar tones like early Morbid Angel or even the awful guitar tone on Destruction's Eternal Devestation lol.
