Hi
A
you are the final boss of restoration channels! cleaning up the chamfering on a trashed nut with a dremel when a new would likely cost a dollar is true dedication.
Yyt😅😢
that neon green really pops....love the colour

No drama, just sand blast the rust items
At first i was worried that it will be just a boring black bike, but you introduced neon yellow. Personally i would go for bright red, but this also look cool. GJ man.
Este es un video motivaciónal que le mete un puñetazo a todos aquellos que dicen que una bici así no tiene rescate
Brother,YOU ARE "MAGIC MAN" from now on.
As a bicycle assembler myself, I found this fascinating!

Awesome video. Brought back great memories of my BMX days which were filled with days upon weeks of building and rebuilding my Redline. Circa 1980 to about 1985. 👊🏾👊🏾
man that bike came out so beautiful. love the color way

Wow always lay in my bed but now I'm motivate to find a stock bike to restore thank you for your videos
I tried to re-spray my bmx dirt bike in my late teens. Took everything apart, including the pedal gears and handle parts. BUT didnt have a clue how to restore AND put it back together. I was raised in a real estate maintenance dept (so I had the tool available as you show in your video), BUT didnt have a clue what I was doing. Your video shows me what I could have done.
Where's your bmx now ?
I used to paint my bikes, then I decided to save myself the trouble and get parts in the color I want.
it's amazing how many modern parts are on this "old" bmx 😂
@@MrBirdy-bf7rm wrong, a lot of them go through phases and you can date them accordingly if youre really into bmx. this bike is probably only 10 years old if that.
@@AverageCitizen333 I hope you know essentially just said what I said mate but put extra steps. That’s a bike from the 80 bro. I have almost an identical one
That isnt from the 80's at all. Look closer, or learn more about the topic. It has stuff that came out in the late 90's on it. Your a joke bro
@@MrBirdy-bf7rm not to mention all of the rust bright red, meaning its fresh. This dude beat the piss out of this bike and sanded paint off of it, just to let it sit outside for a month or two, so he could make this video. A bike from the 80's would be too collectable to ruin twice
@@MrBirdy-bf7rm you're making yourself look bad. You're def wrong bud. It's ok to not know about bikes.

Best restoration video I've ever seen.People who see the new bike won't believe it was a junk bike from the past.Great job congratulations
Literally the owner getting a brand new 🚴 🔥
Literally garbage. This knucklehead sandblasted a chain. A CHAIN!!! You absolutely cannot sandblast a chain because there is no way of getting all the gunk in the links out. There is no external access. The whole bike is still rusty on the inside. The entire frame needed to be dunked in evaporust.
Not even kinda, lmao
I guess I wasn't the only one that noticed the bottom bracket bearing being backwards and the lack of grease on the freewheel, good luck..

As we said back in the eighties, "radical". I wish I still had my California Special Goose I got back in '83. I can still remember, it cost 209 bucks at the bike shop. But, it was too nice to even ride to school - as it would have gotten stolen.
Wow. I remember my son. BMX. Good job guy. Amazing. 👍👍
That is what the old is BMX going back to the late 80s what a beautiful job only a master can do something like this
Outstanding job !!!
Nice job. I was interested in seeing the final restoration. Your hard work paid off.
Que genio voludo !!! 🇦🇷. Es un ídolo 🌟

Man those pegs brought back some pretty good memories of taking my little brothers for rides when they were barely learning to ride now we all got super sport bikes lol so cool keep up the good work man
Quite fascinating to watch; not least because I am a lover of vintage road bikes. I really appreciated watching the disassembly and cleaning operations. Would love to know what you use for paint stripper; I cannot find anything with half the strength of 30 years ago. I did not see where you were going with the color scheme, but I loved the surprise of the dayglow wheels!! Wonderful.
Jasco aircraft paint stripper. They come in gel form. Brush on then either wipe, scrape or wash off after 30 minutes.
Go for aircraft paint stripper but be careful, it's dangerous if improperly handled. It should bubble the paint right off
Nitromorse is a good paint stripper available in the UK, otherwise get an ex girlfriend and a bottle of brake fluid!
This is no where near a vintage road bike which I also love. This is ……. Something else.
It's a wonderful video I saw full without skipping any second
Amazing Transformation!
that was incredible, my friend. awesome work 🚲 👍🏼
Hola, muy lindos videos tendrías que poner subtítulos, saludos desde Argentina !!!
concuerdo con la desconocida
Yo quiero saber que es ese líquido negro que le pusona lo que sacó del Vinagre
I had to stop watching this video for a second because I was legit starting to get some slight PSD......Amazing job Brother. When I was 8......I'm now 40 and doing well but grew up extremely poor and had nothing. I literally put my life (at the time) into building and finding all of the original parts to a 81' Mongoose BMX just from a frame I had of the bike. Someone threw it out and I was like "I'm ganna make this happen no matter what happens in my life" this thing was so beat up but just like you did with every little part.....Up to the ball barrings in this video. I found all the original parts somehow. Including pegs from 81' and chromed this bike out by hand. Took me 6 years but when it was complete it was immaculate. As soon as it was rideable it was my pride possession and 2 weeks later some P.O.S stole it while I was in a dentist. Smh.....Brang back unbelievable memories. Beautiful job 🙁🙏
O cara fez tudo certinho tirando a economia de graxa daí nos 27:40 ele vai é me põe o rolamento ao contrário daí fica amigo mais fora isso aí ta top o trabalho de reforma

Very amazing work on the whole process.. You really gave that BMX bike a new style and upgrade, from what it use to look like. The black and yellow color combo really makes it pop and looks great!. I miss having a BMX bike. I use to have a really wicked midnight blue mongoose bike when I was in my teen years. However, I am 41 now and I doubt guys in their 40's still ride these bikes. Though, i don't know it matters what kind of bike you have, or so I hope lol.
Yo bros, me 41 too haha...!
When Im young I use to ride bike but not bmx, it's a 20" ATM in my memories...😁
wrong, all ages ride these bikes
@@grantkoeller8911 just checking lol
you should try riding mountain or road bikes. tony hawk is still riding a skateboard why put down your bmx bike.
@@ameraldas3641 this is true.. But the only problem is.. I use to own a Mongoose BMX many years ago, it was a very wicked midnight blue with electric lightning graphics on the frame. But as i got older and grew out of it, i gave it to my friend after high school. Thinking back on it, i do miss that bike. It was my very first mongoose bike
As a bicycle assembler myself, I found this fascinating
Those two colors work really well together.Good job.

Great job!! the spheres were inverted in 27:39
Pretty sure it's a GT Performer, or at least a copy of one. I found a genuine frame and fork at a garage sale...found an unused stem and 3pc GT cranks still in the box. I hope it turns out as good as yours.....AMAZING!
It’s a pacific cyclone 1996
@@chair2703 Is it a GT copy? Even the stem looks to be a GT knockoff. Either way, thank you for the information...very interesting.
It’s definitely some kind of knock off of the lmid to late 90’s gt performer
Love it!!!! Thank you for sharing

I like the colour of paint that I picked for rims absolutely gorgeous good job ☺️
Buen trabajo de restauración con un unico detalle: La pista de freno no se pinta, al menos de que la goma o la zapata tenga una buena adherencia.
Wow. What a lot of work. 👍

Superman called, he wants his sandpaper and file back!
I worked in bicycle shops in the 80s. In the early 80s BMX racing was blowing up. Around ‘82 guys were taking their racing bikes and riding ramps and doing trick shows on on them. By the mid eighties 20” bikes were being produced exclusively for doing tricks. They were heavier and had pegs, rotors, longer wheel bases and other stuff that was not built for racing. We called them freestyle bikes. Fast forward to now and freestyle bikes are called BMX bikes. Ot sure when that happened 😀
Sick! Great job
That's the first cold bluing liquid that actually turns steel blue.
Your working skills r Amazing... Good restoration... 👍
Te la rifaste!!!! Greetings from México!!!!
Don't know how I came across this but glad I did. Amazing job. Do more, love these type of videos. 👍 + Sub outstanding work.
Please, check out my latest vid.😉
There’s more restoration to see for you!😊
Nice. Look like the good old haro master frame.
I never wanted a old bike so bad in my life great job
I felt the same way. I guess we all took it for granted way back in the day, when these bikes were plentiful. Nowadays, you are lucky to find one.
I used to ride for Revcore BMX and Mongoose a LONG time ago, and tried to track down my old rides. No luck. Currently, I am restoring an '86 GT Performer for my son.
Amazing. Congratulations for that. 👏
1:27 that but looking in pretty darn good shape for such a rusted bike . Idk some of these rusted broke parts look intentional hope I’m wrong
That's a common theme with many on these "restoration" channels. The thing is; is it a restoration if it's intentionally trashed first?
I also wonder why he didn't ride it to show how effective of a job he did.
I like what he has done, the finished product looks great, but the bottom bracket bearings are the wrong way round and you lost me at taking apart the cheapest freewheel only to put it back together dry
here I am playing a les Paul and your name shows up....the best guitar player ever!!
Thats what i was goin to say!
There some part were I feel as a bike builder and restorer that this guy did wrong and I did not understand
Most of the parts were reused
You ain't kidding, this bike isn't much "better" than when he took it apart. Bike people cringe watching this.
Rebuilding a spoke wheel is an art that very few people can do now
In the beginning I thought I was going to hear.......ITS COOKING Then the Rock comes out 😂
Wow incredible. I love watching videos like this. It's amazing how you brought this bike back to life. I have 2 question . What kind of career is this? Do you create furniture from scratch ?
People work in bike repair shops all the time. People also serve as technicians for cyclists (such as Lance Armstrong) all the time.
mad respect, wow

Looks like a GT or a Mongoose. Great job!
looks like that bike sure went out with a bang, but it's now come back.
Good video, I love it when they restore something completely without buying all the spare parts, but it gives me a bit of disgust, that you do not take into account the rose and the force that is placed on a abjeto, they will use it for a week and it will be horrible but excellent video :3

Ah this vid take me back to my childhood when I used to modify my bike
Hands on a tidy and clean job
nice work, man!
Perfect work! Congratulations. What did you do with the broken wheel?
Nice work. I had one of those in chrome, back in the 80”s.
very creative junk items can be used like new again
The only thing that makes me question this particular video is the ease with which everything came apart. I have stripped and rebuilt a number of bikes, and seat posts and stems can develop galvanic corrosion which makes them impossible to remove without A LOT of work. Obviously not all rust equals galvanic corrosion, but given the state of the bike it didn't seem congruent.
Good work either way though. Pretty diligent cleaning.
Seemed a bit too east to me also ... plus the newer components on an "old" BMX ... this is a little shady LOL
WD40 works wonders
Most likely, he took an okay-condition bike, beat the shit out of the rims, painted it with rust forming “paint” and soaked it in mud to give the effect of it being old. People are very creative in what they do haha
@@lawrwncemitchell9955 Yea if you use about 50 gallons of it.

Back in the day when I went to the dump with my dad we always came back with more than we brought. Most of my bikes growing up as a kid were restored by my dad from the dump.
new look was dashing
Superficial rust (surface rusting) can easily be achieved by brushing salt on metals and putting it under the sun for days! :)
What is that green liquid and what exactly was it doing to the metal bc it looked sweet
It's bluing metal finish. Chemically reacts to the metal making it rust resitant and a cool black color.
