Hello, I really love BROMLEY for some unknown reason!!!! I am charmed with all of the amenities and fabulous public transport just what I need! I am charmed with Bromley College and impressed with their teacher training diploma course syllabus. What I like about this syllabus are the course module subjects. The course modules tackle the key issues affecting the teaching profession globally! I have learned from my supply teaching experience about subject shortages, school management issues, staffing shortages, community demographics, lack of school funding etc. I am thoroughly engaged and interested in all of these issues. I think Bromley is MARVELLOUS! Thank you for sharing the video and reaching out. I enjoy the connection even though I am lost in Bromley. Please stay in touch FRIENDS!! Regards.

I grew up in Bromley - Durham Road. I remember Henekeys (not mentioned in the video), the Railway Signal, Cater's Supermarket, etc., I went to Bromley Tech - I was known as 'Jonah.' I now live on an island in the Andaman Sea - thank God I had the sense to leave the place! 🤫🤭🤔

In 1963 at the age of six I fell through the (very thin!) ice in Prickend Pond, Chislehurst .. my brother dared me to cross to a small central island. I was rescued by a policeman who dashed from the nearby station (now closed) and came crashing through the ice in his hip-waders. Yuck, I can still conjure up the taste of duck-weed! Somehow I think I will end up back in Chislehurst, even though I have lived in Canada for 53 years! I really enjoyed seeing these sights, and so many of the place names are completely familiar to me .. thank you!

Having grown up in Beckenham in the 1950s, I remember a lot of the old buildings and views. I don't think Bromley has changed for the better, but then neither has Beckenham!

The prayers from Canterbury Cathedral are greatly appreciated with the divine garden and Tiger the kitty cat. I appreciate you reaching out! Thank you. Regards.

Born in Beckenham in 1949 I spent a lot of time in Bromley in the 50s being taken there to the shops and to visit my aunt by my mum, (on the 227 bus!) and most of the mid 1960s was spent walking up and down the high street between the Bromley north and south Wimpy bars! It was the days of mods and rockers and Bromley was very mod. I couldn’t afford a scooter but my mate was kind enough to ferry me around on his. Bromley was very much the centre of our universe then. Sadly now it, like Beckenham, have become faceless overpriced dumps. I could never go back. So sad

Thank you so much for this video! Very good quality and superior captions. I lived in Beckenham about 1948-63 as a child and young adult. Then immigrated to the U.S., but a lot of visits back. My parents moved to Shortlands, then my widowed mother to Bromley. I remember very well walking back from Bromley through the beautiful gardens accessible from the High Street by a passageway next to the library (if I remember correctly), then through the recreation grounds--running down the hill if I felt strong enough!--and then via a public footpath between houses into Shortlands. Loved shopping in Bromley, including the old department store, very cramped but well stocked. Bromley always seemed so much better than Beckenham, very boring for a teenager.

We may not have been able to stop tarmac and cars but we certainly could have stopped the huge concrete traffic islands, road markings, unnecessary blizzard of traffic lights, yellow bollards etc which have ruined the streets.

Oh yes - had forgotten the Co-op, and after it closed there were lots of small shops and businesses in that building. I remember Martin who had a shop with incense and candles and all those sort of "mystic" type things.
