Granted it’s prefaced with Fozzie Bear praising his finger, but the line:
“We’ll chase our dreams standing on our own, over the horizon to the great unknown” is legitimately badass.
No matter how old I get I will always consider Muppet Treasure Island the best Muppets movie ever made.

I would say it's one of the best. I like Muppets from space. I like Jeffrey tamborg in that movie. I like pretty much any Muppet movie.
my ship has made it a tradition to play this song every time we go underway and on deployment after we get int the open ocean of cource, it's pretty funny to hear this song playing in CIC or on the chaff decks.

yes on an actual naval ship, as long as we're in open ocean the captain can give the order to play it. so far I've heard it played twice when we went underway. We also play the "Pirates of the Caribbean" theme when we do fresh water wash-down. I bet other ships do that kind of thing too but I've only been stationed on one ship and this is probably going to be my only ship.

I love how in this movie more lines in the songs, and jokes open up to you as an adult. Such as “margaritas at the midnight buffet!” A lot of jokes in this movie were aimed at adults, which is great, and gives it its timelessness.
Jim Henson and Mel Blanc were great at that sort of thing.
Statler and Waldorf “Should have took a train” gets me every time😂

Someone may have mentioned this already, but Long John's solo heard here is clearly a different take from the movie.
Holy biscuits, you're right! 🤯 There's a definite gravel to his voice on the last word that is MISSING HERE.
I'm just gonna chock it up to proof that Tim Curry was DEFINITELY singing live on set instead of other actors out there in Hollywood who lip sync. 😆🥰

Best fairly direct adaptation of Treasure Island ever. I add that condition only so I don't have to choose between it and Treasure Planet.

He was created solely so Steve Whitmire could have a member of Electric Mayhem, but Whitmire couldn't find a personality he liked for him, and since the band functioned perfectly well without him, they dropped Lips from it. (He's made a couple of cameos since then, and was in the orchestra in The Muppets, but that's about it.)
