13 ISIS members disliked this video. Who in their right mind will dislike this video or that cool guy who's going through ruff time in his life. Keith, you're the best Drone Pilot keep it up.
+FPV Therapy That was very neat.. I have epilepsy and an AVM so I can not fly for real.. I now am starting fpv fixed wing after getting back into the hobby after 13 years. Never let any disabilities hold you back from your dreams. Technology is great..
+ıllıDiaboli Denıllı It's not too bad, especially with the wide availability of parts. Hobbyking comes to mind. However, the trick is whether you build one on your own or buy one prebuilt. You will pay a premium to purchase a ready to fly racer, as these things take some time and know how to build. However, with the right skills and tools (namely a soldering iron) you can build one on your own in the sub $200 range. But thats just for the drone - you also need gear to see the video transmission, and that is at the very least $100, with the most basic equipment. But the hobby in general is referred to as FPV (first person video) and there is a lot of good info online.
+ıllıDiaboli Denıllı +soulasasin jr. they are about 400-800 for everthing, but this is once you know what your doing, as a beginner your gunna wanna start with somthing like a hubsan x4 or syma, they are under 50 dollars, dont have the FPV but you should learn how to fly regular first.
A lot. FPV goggles you saw around 600 euro. Batteries times 15, another 200 euro min. Frame ranging from 60 to 110 euro. Motors, 20 euro a piece, usually you buy spares. A LOT OF PROPS 30 euro. Transmitter. 100-300 euro Receiver 80 euro. ESC: 20 euro per esc so around 120 euro. Camera, video tx, all the antennas another 150 euro. Lipo charger (cant charge these with regular chargers), 100-400 euro. Stacks up real fast, but a lot of this is for life. Only props have a short half-life, and the occasional motor, esc sometimes arm of the frame.
unless you are going for state of the art equiptment. those prices are nowhere Realistic. you can do it much Cheaper. and still get good quality parts. and if you are going for state of the art those prices you said are way too low. and someone looking to get in to the hobby can build a quard and have it flying for less then $200. Ther are no need to intimidate people trying or wanting to get in to this Wonderfull hobby.
They should get together and fly through Forrest where people goes missing and see what's thriving in the forest. Don't mind me, been watching alot of disappearance 411 lol
Ankush Girotra You just need an AR headset and some software. If a gimbals is too heavy then a camera is too heavy too. You are taking this too seriously, of course there will be movable cameras in the future that are light enough.
Ankush Girotra Well you seem to be a very sad individual. I'm sure little gimbals are going to come out for those little drones in the future. That technology did not exist 10 years ago, think about what will be engineered. You can take the other route too, make it bigger and put actual classic gimbals on it.
I've been flying a race quad for 6 months now and, I've gotta tell ya, as fun as it looks in these videos. It's even better than you think. It's the single most addictive and exhilarating thing I have ever done.
+Icey Muzek It's hard for me to say where you can start making money with this, but I know where to start when it comes to flying. Everyone who does this stuff universally recommends that you start with a small, cheap quad to learn the basics. I suggest buying a Blade NanoQX(which is what I did) because it's cheap, you can fly it in doors, and(most importantly) it can take numerous crashes. Get your bearings with that and, once you've mastered it, then you can move on to your first pair of fpv goggles and any one of many race quad options. You will quickly become skilled enough for a 250 size racer, but starting there is a mistake comparable to doing driver's ed in a Ferrari. I've taught several high schoolers to fly, and a NanoQX or Hubsan X4 or something comparable is far-and-away the best place to start.
buy a shitty toy drone for a tenner down the bargain bin, crash it till you are decent at flying it, then either buy an entry level drone or build one yourself
+care factor zero fu Not sure what you're trying to say, but your mind alters your reality. That's a fact. If you change your beliefs about yourself, your physiology actually changes. There's an interesting TED talk on it that I can link if you'd like. In a similar way, being happy actually changes your physiology. If you believe you are sick, then you may well be. That's part of the reason you see so many people online complaining about being sick for years. Their lives revolve around negativity and worry and so they don't get better. I have experience with this first hand as I have been sick, and worried myself even sicker until I decided to not care and focus on life and work, and I got better!
I was talking about the mental health, about the joy that you have when you do what you love. There are so many people that are 100% healthy... but without joy, without doing what they love... they are sick. And... I bet you've been there. We all been there.
We love this video and hobby so much! I can't imagine our world without RC awesomeness! We'd love to see this sport hit our area and witness a community grow like this one =^)
I think it would be cooler if the drones were bigger, like half the size of a compact car. It could probably help with marketing too, having fans take pictures next to them and such.
I'm happy taking mine up 400ft and looking around but this is awesome to watch. I don't think I could ever fly like that. I can't fly mine without looking at it.
+Soon Fung “Ivan” Wang Between race quads? Not really ideal, they're strong, usually made from carbon fiber, but not strong enough for a fight. The ASL actually does do drone fighting, it's called the "Game of Drones". They have custom quadrotors which are super strong, they have even been shot with a shot gun.
DSMerkonmyface That could be implemented into the programming of the drones, however, laser tag is directional, which means the drones would have to be facing the right way to hit each other, which only seems practical in an FPV sense. FliteTest did something likes this with Airsoft, you can check out the video on their channel.
Great job Keith with drone racing and wishing you a speedy recovery also. What size drones are you racing with ? are they 250s I'm looking into getting involved in drone racing just need to know the size to get.
go on amazon or ebay and buy a super cheap quad, crash it untill you master it then either buy a nice 250 racing quad or look for some video tutorials and build your own. have a look around on google and social media to see if there are any fpv communities in your area.
Good afternoon. Please tell me the list of components for the assembly of the quadrocopters. I am interested in the most optimum components. Thank you in advance.
I heard some star wars mentions, hopefully they'll eventually add on some offensive weaponry to the drone races in a few years time. nothing crazy, maybe some nerf missile launchers or something to that effect and in more extreme races firework type launchers. I'd pay to see that.
+robert jr you will find the phantom sitting in a corner and not being flown after you get some good days of flying with your racer. Also tough the cold to go flying I have flown in sub zero weather but a good tip is to fly from your car as well in the cold
+Cole Hansen haha the same happend to me, i was so happy with my phantom but then i build my first racer, haven't even flown once since then now it just sits in a corner collecting dust
Keith 😃 Ty for being brave an sharing Sorry ya got ill but, I'm glad you picked An activity it will serve you well this is 1of those stories illness found the Wrong guy to pick on 😆👍💪😜 Larry NASA & ISS Research Have aGr8 time out there Godspeed ☝️🌎
1-3 probably, being built mainly out of carbon fiber, they can take an astounding beating. a better question is how many propellers do they go through a year
i love this stuff. i have severa quadcopters, but i cant afford to race. i have camera drones and aerobatic quads, but racing usually has some really tight spaces and you need to make incredibly sharp turns while still flying fast, and that will lead to a lot of broken quadcopters, so id be unable to continue practicing after my first practice. theres little risk in camera drones and with aerobatics drones you have the whole sky. and the fpv transmission isnt cheap either. those fatshark goggles are several hundred dollars.
If you can make it to the DRL, they provide the drones for you based off a standard build they use, everything is provided at that point. I think I recall them saying they build 300 drones per race, if a racer crashed out, they just swap out a whole new drone for the next heat. That's a real penny saver for pilots who make it to that level! :)
Guys, could someone tell me what kind of drone are those??? can anyone buy one? i'm from Brazil and i am liking of that "sport". each one make your own drone with separate parts? Thanks for help now.

why would we dislike while your folks are giving better weapons to us ha?
ISIS member love the expert in drone.. maybe they can recruit them to fly a drone for them...
Best of luck to you, Keith!! Wish you much success and a full recovery!!
+Smiles2U4Ever Thank you :)
+keith.fpv best of luck to you on your recovery by the way I'm Irish so you get extra luck of the Irish :)
yeah, keep it up man, you can do it!
cash prizes go up to $1,000,000 now (there's a competition in Dubai)
It's crazy how much this hobby has advanced since this video was made.
I can't wait to hear from people that said playing video games is useless.
playing pc games is useless (controller not included) :D
LoganBerry ...says the Mario Bros. mushroom.
Hermes Mercury lol
PC Games = Flying Simulator
Starfox was my first fpv emulator
What a great piece on Drone Racing. It also subtly points out it is a sport that nearly anyone can do regardless of disabilities.
That is the coolest goddamn thing I've ever seen.
+chattigre im facinated myself. found a super cheap one on amazon called a Hubson x4 should be here tommorrow!
+chattigre Definitely going to be the new toy of the year once cost comes down.
+Shane Youngblood (Shamus727) how did you enjoy your hubsan? i have a couple and they are a blast!
Glad to see some coverage in the media for those with disabilities flying! That is the basis for our organization!
+FPV Therapy That was very neat.. I have epilepsy and an AVM so I can not fly for real.. I now am starting fpv fixed wing after getting back into the hobby after 13 years. Never let any disabilities hold you back from your dreams. Technology is great..

Augmented reality might be interesting to introduce for the drone pilots.
Why would augmented reality be to heavy?
Ankush Girotra

1 year later and it hasn't yet rivaled the X games.

SO happy to see FPV in headlines
Doing what you love makes you healthy. Nice!
I don't get the point you're trying to make... but let's leave it that way :)

yes but not too much sitting
crazy to see how flying styles and drone capabilities have changed since this was released.
Definitely nice to see a positive viewpoint on drones.
Great story. I hope the hobby/sport continues to grow.
CR Lamb p
Awesome video, really showing how exiting this great hobby really is ! :)
We love this video and hobby so much! I can't imagine our world without RC awesomeness! We'd love to see this sport hit our area and witness a community grow like this one =^)
best of luck to all of you and great video showing a huge positive side to multirotors.
I can see this being the future of racing sports but on a much larger scale
Reality is so 20th century :) VR, parallel universes, multiple realities, bi-location are all in. Get with the program!! :)
This is the sports future!
Great mini-documentary!!!
Charpu is a bonafide Alien :-)
I think it would be cooler if the drones were bigger, like half the size of a compact car. It could probably help with marketing too, having fans take pictures next to them and such.
good for you keith we all need something to bounce off.been flying all my life fpv is still really tricky for me.
I didn't know this existed.... I want one now!!
cool thanks man happy flying
A race trough the woods will be legendary. 🐧🌈
Hi Keith 👋
Your channel has great promise. I also am looking forward to racing but have not yet decided on which drone.
Drone Race ... THE MOVIE!!! ... maybe someday...
2020: FAA hold my beer lets stop this
What is this aerobatics for drones! They should call it Dronobatics!! :)
Happy body happy mind. Got hooked on FPV early last year myself.
Gives you a flying bugs eye view for sure.
This is cool!!
Beautiful!!! I have the same feeling ! :D Just Fly and enjoy!
sports wonder, great video.
awesome vid. Its gonna be so much easier to show people what the hell i'm on about now I can point them to this vid.
Great vid, glad I found this 👍
its the future. we can't stop this even if we tried.
I'm happy taking mine up 400ft and looking around but this is awesome to watch. I don't think I could ever fly like that. I can't fly mine without looking at it.
kcward73 you will!
Great Story... Wishing you continued success!
auto pilot the drone so it follows you and use the vr and boom you got gta irl xD
it's crazy how people 3 years ago thought about things like this and now it has actually happened
Great mini documentary.
Amazing video!!!!
Now this is pod racing
Keep that spirit man =)
i love the sport of fpv racing it brings ppl together
people this is the future stop hateing
I'm sure it will be awesome when it gets to that point for sure
awesome video!
I LOVE FPV!!!
Awesome video and story.
AHHHHH the good old days of the naze 32
Well Done Keith
Get well soon Keith!
When can we see a dogfight? That's going to be awesome.
+Ivan Wang Once they become cheaper, a decent build is around 150-200$ at least.
+MadRussian258 lumineer blast. 200 bucks and has a built in high speed nerf disc shooter on it.
+Michael Delaney what if we did a laser tag system for dog fighting ?
that'd be cool
DSMerkonmyface That could be implemented into the programming of the drones, however, laser tag is directional, which means the drones would have to be facing the right way to hit each other, which only seems practical in an FPV sense. +Donnell Thigpen quite a few racing communities will only allow 250 size (or there abouts) so go for a 250
This is brilliant! How do I get started? I've never flown anything RC before :(
go on amazon or ebay and buy a super cheap quad, crash it untill you master it then either buy a nice 250 racing quad or look for some video tutorials and build your own. have a look around on google and social media to see if there are any fpv communities in your area.
Which drone do you recommend me for VR+drone? not too expensive, but good VR with no delays.
Good afternoon. Please tell me the list of components for the assembly of the quadrocopters. I am interested in the most optimum components. Thank you in advance.
The cool thing about his headset is you cant tell there on his head.
great story - I got the bug also..been doing research on building my own.
the part over the rocks is in Simi valley up Flanagan
I heard some star wars mentions, hopefully they'll eventually add on some offensive weaponry to the drone races in a few years time.
nothing crazy, maybe some nerf missile launchers or something to that effect and in more extreme races firework type launchers.
I'd pay to see that.
Kalaniwolf they already started
it will probably be more like laser tag, as the tech is simple to integrate and saves weight.
this is the future of gaming :D
Dude .. inspiring. Hope all is well ....
your story is I spirational. I'd just like to have a FPV drone that's slow and easy to fly for sightseeing
Good Video like !!
rly nice idea!!!
yep, this feels more like video games
wonder if there is a way to melt the bad propeller and make new ones out of them
Great story.... best wishes.
I FPV on my Phantom and its great I just built my first racer garage tested waiting on the warmer weather good video...
Loveeee, Great Story !
Think of the possibilities for space travel with these little things
+Ghost Dog Space is a vacuum, it wouldn't be able to travel without air
Can we make these larger, and add lasers and make for dog fights? battle situations would be awesome
Looks so freakin fun

I wonder how many Drones they go through a year.

guy random probably plenty lol video drones go through a lot so I knots racing drones do

thats pretty nice, but id still probably crash quite a bit before id get there. :P
the military potential for this is just overwhelming me.
Look at those little sticks they use to control them. I think I would prefer something like arcade joy sticks.
+holdmybeer they have to be that small, otherwise you could not react fast enough - and you have to be fast!! :D
Guys, could someone tell me what kind of drone are those??? can anyone buy one? i'm from Brazil and i am liking of that "sport". each one make your own drone with separate parts? Thanks for help now.
멋진비행입니다 😍😍😍
2 years later and still not rivaling the X-games
The limits are endless
Jaw-dropping...
why are there no tricopter classes?
That's a nice story :)
How can I buy one like that
super fantastic
Where do you buy racing drone
Nice piece, but super hate that "drone" is becoming standard nomenclature. It's a multirotor, or a quadcopter.
gymkhanadog i finally made peace with it. but still hate when the topic turns to an RC place with appropriately equivalent features, it's then called a remote controlled plane.
multirotors aren't even the shape of proper drones 😥
what kind of drone are they using
