I might add, how do players of this caliber shoot THAT bad. their 3's are not even close. worst shooting team for Gonzaga in the last 30 years. those guards should be shooting 500 3's per night in practice

Watson
Hickman
Nembhard
Said this five weeks ago on your channel…Watson is versatile enough to guard the 3, and Huff/Gregg provide so much more spacing (shooters) than Ike/Stromer.
It’s not coincidental that Nembhard had his best game (due to this spacing) and the Zags went on a big second half run once we finally saw extended minutes of this lineup.
Unfortunately, lineup issues have been evident for over a year now…last year we watched a highly inefficient Hickman start over Sallis/Smith…so the question remains, will Few actually adjust?

NONE. If players like Malachi Smith and Hunter Sallis got peanuts even when Hickman was playing terrible last year, NO WAY Luka will see time.

Starting lineup has 3 Jrs and a 5th year Sr... 1st off bench is a Jr. And a redshirt freshman...other than Dusty they're not young.
Yeah but Dusty is starting right now and Nembhard and Ike are both new to the team.
Being young isnt the problem being selfish is. Too many times Ryan won't pass the ball and just drives and take a low percentage shot. And Ike more often than not won't give up the ball if the double comes and ends up taking a fall away 8-10 footer. Few is using pretty much the same offense as last year even though we don't have anyone close to Drew and none of the guards can hit 3's with any constancy.

They need:
1: 2 more high level guards who can shoot. Dusty has shown hes just not that good yet

Andy maybe I misunderstood you, but I think it was the year before when Perkins got kicked in the face and had his jaw broken. Also, Wiltjer was on that 2015/2016 team and I think that was the year Karnowski missed most of the season due to his back.
with this tactic, you are not helping anyone, neither those who are playing nor those who are on the bench
1. More Huff/Gregg and less Ike, especially against taller and more skilled bigs
2. Hickman and Stromer should never be on the court at the same time. In my dream world Hickman would be benched for Stromer until he finds his confidence again
3. More of Anton playing aggressively on offense
4. Must get Yeo to come off the bench and at least play good defense for a few minutes a night

I just can't agree with you. huff comes in the game and turns it around and Few Benches him for Ike , playing timid with 4 fouls. Ike is good, but not good against other Bigs. he and Gregg and Huff need to start, rotate Stromer and Nembhard (along with Hickman if you must). I don't understand Hickman's minutes when he has been struggling for 2 years.
Character is. Important but, they still need to put the damn bowl in the basket lol.
using your logic, just how much does Hickman have to struggle to make a change? he dribbles to much, makes extremely poor decisions, yet plays 40 minutes a game. makes no sense.
I think Few wants nice, compliant players....if you're compliant he loves you....Few loves the photo op of him hugging his players after they lose a big game in the Ncaa...
That’s a long rope Few have given Hickman. Don’t understand Few’s abject stubbornness in playing a guy who adds very little other than an occasional good game against lower tier schools.
I think there is a disconnect between the current lineup. In that 1 point loss to Santa Clara, after the missed FT by Nembhard and many times during the game, some of the lineup were dragging a** getting to the other end. It happened in that last 20 seconds of the game when Santa Clara makes a layup and gets fouled. How can you fix lazy? I think it's a team mind set. Some how the starting lineup looks like they've never played ball before. There is enough talent, but it's working as individual islands, instead of a cohesive team. That's a big problem
It's not laziness. Nembhard and Hickman have noone to relieve them.
I think it's fatigue and not laziness. You could see Watson walking down the court at the end. He ended up cramping up right after the game as the court was being stormed
They need to take care of the ball, play more physical defense and offense, score off of turnovers, make shots, rebound on both ends.😂
If only 2 of the current starters could do those things so our bench wouldn’t feel cheated in playing time watching subpar starters.
Is it time for Few to retire? Recruiting classes haven't been good, losing to Santa Clara...
get Luka healthy and play him....do people forget how great he was early on, passing off the ball and creating assists?.....and play Stromer even if it takes a while for him to catch on...he'll get there....stop criticizing players openly ....play Ben and Huff alot more....and stop making stupid mistakes like calling your final timeout when down one point before the opposition takes its final free throw.
This zags team though will most likely win the conference, I have 0 confidence in this team. They have no quad 1 wins. One they play a team that has a winning record they struggle bad. They barely beat ucla who has been bad this year. And they have lost to three unranked teams. This team has to figure it out because this team is ruining mark fews legacy as a whole right now
Starters should be nemhard, Watson, Gregg, Huffman and stromer.
I think they'll need Anton to assert himself offensively from here on out...would like to see him averaging 20 a game. Please no more 2 for 20 from 3 😂
