Good day, Great video, I'm converting my DMF to a single mass on a Ssangyong Korando 2011 Diesel SUV 2.0 e-XDi - must I change the clutch plate to one with springs or leave the clutch also solid?
Hell very helpful information. Thanks so much. I have a sachs (spings) replacement clutch configuration, so you confirmed now that I can get rid of the dual mass FW for my 986 Boxster
A diesel (high torque at low revs) requires the springs/damping to be on the flywheel (as opposed to the clutch disc), if you put a solid mass flywheel the crankshaft may very well break.
@@jzxtrd337 that was so before with yestertimes diesels, but todays turbo direct injection engines can put so much more torques at low revs that a damper is now a necessity.
Thanks for the info & sharing. Does that single work in the DSG(?) Automatic? Will it work in my 2006 1.9tdi? What brand/s did you say? Does LuC sell it? - thanks man
Would you put this in a 01 TDI with ALH? I am using a Jetta TDI 1.9 ALH in a Vanagon Camper using a 4 speed with a LSD/Locker. Many say that the gas clutch wont hold and swear by the DMF setup. The word was that TDIs have a pulse, or vibration that can transmit more through a SMF setup. I dunno.. I'm new to the whole thing.. Thanks for the walk through! T
Same question here...except mine is an 01 New Beetle TDI with the ALH engine and the 5sp manual. I think my DMF is getting ready to fail...it only has 312,000 ,miles on it!
Hi I have a question. I have an 03 g35. I bought a clutch kit (EXEDY NSK1000 OE) and a solid mass flywheel. When I took it to the mechanic he said the solid flywheel isn't compatible with my clutch and that I needed a "dual" mass flywheel. The person I bought the solid flywheel from said that it was OK to install solid mass flywheel on the clutch regardless of compatibility. I don't know whether to return the solid mass flywheel and get a dual mass (which is 3x the price) or install the solid mass flywheel on the clutch anyway? Thanks in advance! Appreciate your response since you seem to have tried the solid mass flywheel.
The single explanation for this dual mass flyweel is to protect the crankshaft and put you to consider clutch as wearing part only good to be changed every year if possible, to make this shit selling department producer happy.

If you go single does it make a lot of noise when idle on a Manual???
I have a Question,, it's ok if I changed dual mass flywheel to my grand starex 2011 model to single mass flywheel?

Hello, is it good to put on my bmw e46 318D.116KS single mass flywheel?
Dual mass type fly wheel is very expensive. Low cost, if we use the clutch disc with damper spring combine fly wheel single mass.
Advantage is its lighter... (grunts while picking up =)=)

Any shatter after the conversion install?
Shame i can't have a single mass flywheel on my VW 6speed DSG.
I have a question. ¿can i use a clutch disc without springs and a solid fly wheel together?
No you can not

my diesel is 25 years into its original clutch, so I'm not convinced I need a DM flywheel/clutch assy, I think it's a money making con-trick
