I have this system in the gas model and have had it since 2008. It is the best investment I have made in my yard landscaping equipment. Not cheap starting out but used it for the last 13 yrs no issues and I have beat the crap out of it, string trimmer, hedge trimmer used at least 1-2 times a week for hedges and keeping brush back from a electric fence. 👍👍👍 I also have a 4ft extension bar to get those high to reach branches.
Iv used the Stihl kombi system in my lawn care business as well as for maintaining the trail system on our hunting property for the past 10 years or so. One of the best equipment investments that I have made. Thanks for sharing!
The Stihl Kombi system is awesome. I have the pole saw and hedge trimmer they work fantastic. Life hack: The pole saw works great for clearing overgrown fence lines. I call it the Chain Saw on a Stick.
yeah its sures better then having bunch of power units to look after wich is nice i used mine with a 16 inch bar on it and my kombi blocked up 4 cords of wood plus used it for buildig my deck wich great construction tool as well
I use my Stihl HL94K hedge trimmer as a weed eater, it doesn't throw the clippings all over the place like a string trimmer will and it's a lot more powerful for cutting briars and ivy. Hi Hunter!!
Man, that Kombi system would make a great Father's day present, (hint, hint...). Mainly because with the battery powered unit, I could get my wife to do some of the manual yard work and I could ride the mower around. That way I could stay out of trouble for weed wacking her flowers that look like weeds to me.
Impressive eah David! Soon his diesel will be electric. Motor made the comment he never thought he would see the day that electric would take over his tools. Maybe Motor Mike will send you and me a complimentary system like this. 🤔🍩
yeah me too plus eay to service too wich attachments comes off and just the engine sits on the bench and doesnt take all the room on the bench with attachment on wich why i allways buy kombi system im looking into getting a km131r
Hello. I purchased the KMA 135r and have used it for one month. Awesome tool. I also purchased the 3000 battery pack and with the battery on my back, the KMA 135r is lightweight. My only gripe is the belt as Stihl put the clip on left side so latching and I latching the belt is pain. I did not know there is a blower for the KMA 135r and will have to check it out at the hardware store. I highly recommend this system. No more frustration trying to start something.
Last year after fighting getting the 2 stroke equipment started, I purchased the Milwaukee Quick-Loc system. They don't have a blower that attaches to the power head, but the do have an edger and an extension pole. Also, Milwaukee has a large button to press after you unscrew the pinch bolt. What does the drive shaft look like on the Stihl? It would be nice to mix and match the Combi system to chose the best from each manufacturer. What you'll love about the swivel head on the hedge trimmer attachment is you can rotate the head to the point that it can be used a a sickle. For heavy brush, it works fantastic. After going electric for this application, it's just a matter of time before a zero turn mower provides some acreage. Cub Cadet is the only all electric lawn tractor I've seen, but it's only 42 inches wide, and is supposed to cut 2 acres per charge, and no one can tell me what the replacement batter is going to cost.
I have same Stihl combo but gas powered. When using the extension it's a back breaker on my old bones but works great. Bar oil leaks out of saw but other than that very happy with the Stihl.
I have the Milwaukee M18 version of the combination system. Powerhead, polesaw, and string trimmer. Love it for ease of use. Only drawback was that I had to buy it, Milwaukee didn’t lend it to me. Great video as usual. Have a day Morgan gang.
Bought the Stihl gas hedge trimmer on a pole made quick work of waist high weeds along the creek....Yesterday bought the Ex Mark Quest mower .... you’re becoming quite an influence.... Have a great day
I purchased the STIHL KM94R last month, just the pole trimmer and I love it! I was jus looking for the pole trimmer, but when I saw the system it was a no brained. One engine to service for multiple tools. When the 10 year old Echo trimmer dies I will buy the trimmer and edger. This fall buying the cultivator to do some touch ups in the yard and flower beds for next spring.
I am glad you mad the comment about the bar oil, being the only oil you use. Electric equipment is great if you have smaller place, and its basically maintenance free.
I have had the stihl gas kombi system for 5 years and love it. I have almost every attachment they make for it. You'll also want to get the extension piece for increased reach with the pole saw
kombi is the best 1 power tool to maintain instead 50 different power equipment wich ive been allways useing stihl kombi system wich ive been useing long time 1 power unit to look after instead of having all bunch different units wich kombis saves the time
Looks awesome Mike! I picked up the Milwaukee version of this kit with pole saw, hedge trimmer and edger last week. I used all three this weekend and don't know how I lived without them!
Phil here from NE Indiana. I already have the Stihl battery powered blower, string trimmer and chainsaw. I got them mainly for the wife cause she could never start the gas engine ones. But I'm using them more and more. Love the MSA 200C chainsaw. Looking to buy the pole saw next. I am impressed with the Stihl battery life. These battery powered tools are no toys. They are the real deal for me. With my JD zero turn mower I have no need for a battery powered lawn mower but I wouldn't mind seeing how one of those work. These Stihl tools are loaners but it's great watching someone actually use them in an everyday situation. I do watch and think that maybe I need one of those. Like an excavator...
I’ve been using the Kombi system (Gas) for about 6 years now. I run a string trimmer, pole saw with the extension, the blower, lawn edger, and cultivator. I might be adding the battery power head to the arsenal.
I had the same I have the same setup with gas but I don't have the hedge trimmer I don't have the pool saw but I but I love the gas power but I love the attachment
Good morning Mike, so far I am sold on Stihl Battery operated products. I purchased the MSA140C chainsaw and love it. Plus it's always in the truck box on our side x side very handy when trail riding.
When using any hedge trimmer spray the blades with WD 40 to keep them from gaming up. Tip was by a still rep. You can only put 1 3 ft. Extension on the pole saw. My dealer told me 3 but another dealer told me only one. If you look at the pole saw it will tell you only one extension. I think a gas head will work with all the attachments.
Good demonstration. I could have used this when I owned my home. In practical terms Mike would have used the mower to trim the driveway edge but for demonstration sakes hewed wacked.
Mike I got the Stihl Kombi also but in gas. Love it . Have pole saw(with the extension)blower and string trimmer and use it all the time. Gonna get the paddle for moving rocks out of grass. 👍
Very impressed with the Stihl powerhead and attachments. Need to replace e what I have which is gas powered. Will look at the Stihl. I will need and edger attachment to go along with what you have. I've got about 350 feet of driveway as well as about 140 feet of sidewalks. St Augustine grass it to tough to edge with string trimmer and would take to long. Y'all stay safe. It is pouring rain here from remnants of storm that came onshore on Gulfof Mexico yesterday.
I'm looking at going cordless for my weed eater, cultivator attachments. Right now I have the 25cc 2 stroke Troy Bilt power head, but Dewalt has come out with a Flexvolt power head so I may switch, as the attachments I have now from MTD will work with the Dewalt Flexvolt 60V power head....I'm tired of messing with gas powered equipment where I don't need it...I have to keep my lawn tractor because the electric ones don't have a PTO provision for my 42" Snow Blower attachment.
Thanks for the demo. Nice little gadget. Keep the videos coming. Missing Kate and Levi's Thai-d up with the Morgans, understandable with having a new baby. Hope all is well.
After the housing crash in '08 my business partner and I liquidated and re-invested in landscape equipment. We had a similar Stihl unit with a gas power head. For heavy mowing that would require a brush hog we would articulate the head on the hedger and use it like a scythe. Worked like a champ.
What does it weigh with the different heads on it .I have a bad back and my big Husqvarna string trimmer gets the best of me and I have a lot to trim around. I really enjoy your videos. May God bless you and your family and channel.
Good job on the review!, I have a fl90 weed eater it's great, but I need a smaller trimmer in tight places and a pole saw for the driveway!. That set up would be perfect!. Morgans have a day!.
Do you have the Stihl FS 90, which is the FS91 now? Reason I ask is...I have a FS90R, and all the 2 cycle Kombi attachments work on my FS90...well the adjustable hedge trimmer(so it can be used like a sickle), and the pole saw chain saw do for sure. I need to look into a few more of the attachments as well.
I have the large gas Kombi power head. I was surprised how well the blower worked. I have cut 6 inch limbs with saw and carbon fiber extension. I need to confirm the attachments I have are compatible with electric head. I use the FH-KM 145° Adjustable Power Scythe in place of the string trimmer most of the time.
I bought the gas kombi system 8 years ago. Most people would buy each of the 4 units you used and then have to maintain 4 engines. Most of the time they would not get used enough and then bad gas issues. I have one engine and 8 attachments. If it dies in the next 10 plus years I will go electric. Been wanting to see the electric one in action.
This, and of all the equipment that Stihl has/makes, the one that I just bought is one that really impresses me. Here's a good ( if not, great ) small'ish cordless trimmer that will impress you. Check one out, look at ALL of it's features, it's the model FSA 45. You WILL be surprised!
I have a Stihl gas hedge trimmer I've used for years, but not for hedges! It's angled like a hockey stick, and it's my default "string" trimmer (but no string). Besides not having a string to break, it's an extremely wide cut, and just laughs at those woody- or thick-stemmed weeds that destroy a string. I find I need to take the head apart and sharpen the blades after about two years of use. Oh, and you can use it on hedges, too! 🤣 Try it before you send the loaners back.
Mike, I have the Kombi setup and love it. Last year I purchased the KMA 131R, but regret the purchase because of the battery setup (belt, backpack & etc.). The KMA 135R would have been ideal for my property. I like that the 135R has the batter attached to the unit. Wished I would have waited a year for the 135R to come out. Started the battery powered journey due to a bad shoulder. Nice review Mike!
Stihl is one of the few that make quality equipment. Of course, you do pay for it. I kinda wish you would have given us an idea of how much we should expect to pay (MSRP) for the whole group of tools you demonstrated Mike… Marcus from Chesapeake VA.
Mike I have the same thing just in gas power was afraid the battery wouldn't hold up long enough for me! Best investment I ever made especially the 145degree hedge trimmer.
Have u used the extension with the hedge trimmer on the battery power unit?? I am debating vs buying the gas 131 and the battery 135r. But I need to use extensions in both hedge trimmer and pole saw, and don’t know if the 135r will have enough power for this?? Anyone have any experience with this and can give advice?!
Mike, next time you go to blow the grass and debris off of the driveway, utilize the 4 wheeler by driving slow and holding the blower off to the side! 👍
Have you looked at the AP1000 back pack battery should be able to go all day with it. When I weed wack our driveway it usually takes 2 tanks so the equal would be 2 or more of the AP300 batteries. The AP1000 takes something over an hour to recharge. There is a carbon fibre saw tube avail. With the pole saw, cultivator and strimmer Kombi head and AP 1000 c/w quick charger I was quoted around CDN~~$1300 There is also a UK study on heavy gas strimmers and retinal detachment in over 50 guys- so thats why I am following closely.
Mike, do you know if we already have the kombi system with the gas engine head. Can we use the attachments we have if we just buy the new electric power head? ThAt would be really sweet if we can. I think I own most of the attachments for the kombi system it would be a shame if they didn’t work with the electric head.

I prefer the bush hog with the air conditioning and drink holder attachment just saying 😁🤔👍
Nice tools - modern battery technology making it easier.
Stihl tools are great - pricey but worth it. Thanks for video.
I use the hedge trimmer to cut grass & weeds. Works better in some ways than the string trimmer.
They also have a backpack battery and a harness.
All my Stihl gear is now Battery operated for the last year or so. Very good product. Fast charger is great too!

There is also a UK study on heavy gas strimmers and retinal detachment in over 50 guys- so thats why I am following closely.
Love my Kombi system! Great versatility, and the interchanging is so fast. What was the total time on the battery?
What’s the power like compared to your gas 91R? I’m thinking about buying one to replace my KM91R

Always take care of Mom. Your kids will see that example.
Mike, do you know if we already have the kombi system with the gas engine head. Can we use the attachments we have if we just buy the new electric power head? ThAt would be really sweet if we can. I think I own most of the attachments for the kombi system it would be a shame if they didn’t work with the electric head.
Yes, they all work together.
