Great teacher to involve as many kids as possible. Love the energy the backing singers brought to this too. Congrats to St Andrew's College music department.
Great comment. We take pride in making sure the ‘ensembles’ in our shows are performing just as hard as those in the lead roles. It really adds to the energy on stage.
Brilliant performance. They should all be very proud. Mia just nailed that solo! Looking forward to seeing more of her in future! So much feel for someone so young too. Wow! 🎶💚
For what it's worth and from an old school muso, this was a great production so much so I've sent a link of it to Jimmy Page. I sincerely hope he watches it to see what he's inspired. Well done to everyone involved.
wowie im 125.5 years old and ive heard hundreds of covers of stairway to heaven but this one was the most bone ratteling one of them all in fact it blew the last remaining years of my life right out of me! im righting this from heaven!!!🔥🔥🌽
As a 1960s teenager, I feel that, with young people like this, the future is in good hands. Be they rock musicians, folk musicians or just part-time musicians. A good group of young people.
awesome performance by everyone but that solo was goosebumpy she nailed it. but the swag she had playing that solo and the feel was like yeah boy . loved it
That was really an incredible performance, the Heart rendition for the Hall of Fame induction for Led Zeppelin has to be one of the best out there! What a great showing from St Andrew’s!!
Yes,the Heart performance of this song is quite astonishingly good!! And Jimmy Page and Robert and John watching it is extremely moving,I was in tears too!!
Everyone involved is obviously awesome but Mia, OMG she just sort of eases her way to the front, in such an unassuming way, proceeds to rock the roof off of the place, then sort of eases back into the group like "gee I hope that was OK". Well it was a lot more than just OK. 🤯
Mia Absolutely nailed That Solo, As Did Everyone Else....Kudos To You All I Watched That Video So Many Times it is Just Amazing...Long May You All Run.
I'm hoping the 2024 prize giving sequel is Led Zepplins Immigrant song.... (I'm a STAC old boy from the mid 1970's and we used to play the just released Stairway to Heaven at the parties we had back then)
Why not get an interviewer who had actually watched the performance instead of asking inane questions of the two students like “what did you do “…. Pretty basic I would have thought. NZ media……🙈
So they went from “not sure we’d film it” to using at least 13 camera angles? This is a promo video for a mega rich school. That’s not a problem, but don’t pretend it’s something it’s not.
The wide angle camera had its footage corrupted, so they asked attendees for any footage they filmed and edited it together along with the schools close up shots. Lots of schools film their productions these days, it's good experience for the students studying Film and T.V. too
Yeah. I got it lost a little in translation there. We have our school media team there with cameras for the live screen that is usually there but we've never recorded the audio properly before. I only plugged the laptop into the sound desk at the last minute and even then we didn't have time to set it up properly so most of the choir mics didn't get recorded. I never make these videos for promotion, I just do it for our kids and their parents so they can see how it was. The fact it's gotten all this exposure is a surprise to me and certainly wasn't planned for

Thanks tvnz. Really appreciate the support. The kids are buzzing and the whole StAC community is feeling humbled but proud.
Absolutely outstanding performance. Well done to all!
Amazing. Congratulations! And a special thanks to all the music teachers who are clearly doing wonderful work with these talented young people.
Brilliant performance. They should all be very proud. Mia just nailed that solo! Looking forward to seeing more of her in future! So much feel for someone so young too. Wow! 🎶💚
She played it well, but wasn't the whole solo

Doesn’t matter it was still brilliant!

I really hope Jimmy Page gets back to you with his thoughts on this wonderful rendition of this rock song. Please keep us informed!
lol pee wee herman wrote the song send him the link if he's still alive

Can't fault it. Fantastic. A school band and from New Zealand. Watched it many times on RUclips. A must watch. Keep the good work up...
Wow! As a 1980s teenager I really hope that this is the future of heavy metal performers. ROCK!!!

Watching from Australia, all of you should be so proud of yourselves, what a sensational work of art you have created.
G'day :)
New Zealand should and must be very proud of this production. I loved the whole experience, thankyou to all concerned
the entire country!?
@@avocadostan22 You better believe it!
I live in the US, it's gone nuts over here with people sharing it left, right and centre.
Somewhere Plant, Page, Jones and Bonham are very proud and wiping another tear. Great job!

Just one word " EXCELLENT " congratulations to these young talented musicians and I'm sure we'll see more of them in the near future.🎤🎤🎼🎼🎤🎤🎼🎼♨♨💯💯
What a performance from you all !!!! Grace , you were brilliant
What a fantastic performance for a school playing one of the best songs ever. It’s was my favourite song in the 80’s and still is today ✨✨🎸👍
Everyone involved is obviously awesome but Mia, OMG she just sort of eases her way to the front, in such an unassuming way, proceeds to rock the roof off of the place, then sort of eases back into the group like "gee I hope that was OK". Well it was a lot more than just OK. 🤯
It was a really good polished production, Mia definitely killed the solo, loved watching her just walk up and let fly
Fantastic performance, well done everybody involved!
Outstanding teaching and star performance!
Totally enjoyed that performance. You’ll were very brave to tackle that classic track. Well done.
This was an amazing project snd tribute to Led Zeppelin-this blew me away!
Modesty & humility wins every time . Magic
Great item. Wonderful to see this encouraged and celebrated.
Just awesome! I expect that LedZep will have a comment as well ❤
Two words describe this performance "BLOODY FANTASTIC"
AWESOMENESS

Absolutely awsome. My go to version of stairway t heaven.thankyou.
Bravo to you guys, watching and listening from Nelson
Wow, just wow
Awesome job. Thanks
Mia and James played outstanding!
As they say this is my favourite song, and my neighbours too, regardless if they like it or not…
How unoriginal,we`ve all heard people say than about a million times.
@@mjh5437 what a miserable thing to say. Your comment was totally unnecessary.
This song never tires.
Simply amazin'
Mia, what a fantastic job, hope Jimmy Page gets to see your amazing performance, actually I put it on parr to Hearts version. Love them both.
I'm hoping the 2024 prize giving sequel is Led Zepplins Immigrant song.... (I'm a STAC old boy from the mid 1970's and we used to play the just released Stairway to Heaven at the parties we had back then)
That would be pretty cool! I love that song - but I only learned much later that I was getting the lyrics completely wrong🙃
Mia had the toughest job and nailed it perfectly.
Top efforts!!! 🎶 🎸🎤❣
All i can say is wow
Fab experience… well done you lot!
Why is the man and those 2 kids the main photo? Where are the girls who did all the hard yards?
haha, the girl on the right is the guitarist. The other one wasn't able to be there.
Where can we watch this
Why not get an interviewer who had actually watched the performance instead of asking inane questions of the two students like
“what did you do “…. Pretty basic I would have thought. NZ media……🙈
I think Anna Burns knew what they did, she just allowed the students the ability to introduce themselves
Go StAC! - Just Fabulous!
It was ................impressive.
Do you think the TV presenter knows that “ All Will Be Revealed” is from Kashmir another Led Zeppelin classic- perhaps that should be next years song
👏👏👏
Actually sounded like Robert Plant
Don`t be ridiculous,Nobody on this planet sounds like Robert Plant at his peak in 1969-1973!!
@@mjh5437 except for that girl
I want to know why in New Zealand the boys wear such long socks to school, and why they even wear them that high?
It gets cold in the South Island....
Next year - Something by Pink Floyd
Better than Hearts version especially the lead
Nowhere NEAR as good as the Heart version!!!
Amazing theatre space, I am guessing this is a wealthy private school?
No,most NZ schools look like this.
shush! No they dont
Very wealthy Christchurch School, but one amongst many. Kudos to them for an outstanding performance, especially Grace and Mia. 👌
This was at the Wolfbrook arena in Christchurch. No school has an assembly hall that large in NZ lol
Not to bad. Solo was very average.
Grace did a lovely Perfoy

Surely, they could have found a better singer than that girl!
Grace did great. We are super proud of her. No need to be negative.
@@learningideas She did very well , put the song across brilliantly and most importantly , sang in her own accent!!
