I lived there for two years, really enjoyed the apartment. But the amenities are essentially just a selling feature. In the 2 years the pool never opened for use. The in-unit laundry cost extra, the greenway between the buildings was never finished and there is an entire sub-level of artists amenities (metal and wood working shops) that were also never finished.

This is called Denizen Bushwick. Between the $150 amenity fee for unfinished amenities plus and extra fee for each game in the game room per game, and the $75 extra for in-unit laundry this is just not worth it to me. Plus the management team Smart Management is slow with repairs and shady with over charging your accounts. Rent at your own risk.

But I think it's necessary to have all those activities there because looking at the neighborhood, I don't think I'd want to go out after dark. I'm guessing that there are fees for many of the building's perks.
There are no bargains for NYC apartments. There are always compromises, and when apartments this nice in a building this nice seem to have almost-reasonable rents, there has to be a hitch. Hmm... interesting and eclectic neighborhood. The studio at $2250/month is the steal, IMHO. Especially, when you consider all of the amenities of the building. I liked the 2bed/2bath apartment too. But, at $4100/month... I just wasn't feeling it because I felt that there should have been a terrace of some sort--that's just me. Overall though, they're nice units (no complaints about the bathrooms) and a beautiful building.

Agree with everything you said. In addition I have no real desire to live in NYC, was nice to visit the times I've been, but don't feel like living there. Now if that building was in Boston, or down in Denver (closer to where I'm currently living btw) with the price adjusted for the local area ( I believe it would be a bit cheaper in either city) and I could relocate my position nearby, I would then consider trying to get one of the two bedroom units, especially if it was a unit that was 2Br, 1Ba but of the same size as the 2 Br, 2 Ba place.

Compared to pre-pandemic, $2k/mo you get a 10x10 room with 2 other roommates and share 1 bathroom in a rundown apartment. But with jobs going remote, I'm already booking it to Thailand. Condos at $500/mo with extremely lux amenities (all included) that make this one look like the budget version.
