Oh sorry, but usually when it scans to say like 50%, you cancel and Check through the scanned files before continuing. Coz reason is that it deep scans everything, that's why your storage got full

Hi Flavia, unfortunately so sorry this won't help if you restored the phone to factory settings since doing so erases all the file traces.
How long it takes? Mine scanned 7k+ and still counting
You just pause at some point when you realize it has scanned to the photos u need
