Thank you so much for this footage. The footage between 1:00 and 1:07 shows a large grey house which our family lived in between 1965 and 1969. I of course was only a nipper in primary school at the time. It's the only image/footage I have been able to find of the house in Stanley Street, South Brisbane viewed from the river. Directly behind our house (or in front of it from the Stanley Street perspective) is the old Salvation Army Men's Home. At the time, the house was split into two separate homes in a duplex style arrangement. Of course, pretty much everything in the scene is gone now, as GOMA, The State Library of Queensland and the Queensland Museum now stand along that part of Stanley Street and that reach of the Brisbane River. Again, thank you so much for sharing. 👍😊
The poor old Bellevue, little did it or we know what was coming! Trittons, every newly married couple bought their first furniture from Trittons. Great film, many memories
The Bellevue Hotel was an example of unique Victorian period architecture but hotels and theatres take up a heap of room in a confined CBD area such as this.
I absolutely love ❤ how minimalistic and decluttered from numerous ads and poster this old Brissy is, my heart skips a bit ❤ just love it
Just the lack of traffic is mind blowing. The city looks deserted LoL

Awesome. Hard to recognise most of it in modern days though isn’t it. Only a few of the shots I could tell it was Queen st etc…
Good on you, Mr Marshall for recording this for the future

Be nice if there was a narrative behind this. Wonderful piece of history. Thx
the Deen bros would have some good photos of the Bellevue
Wouldn't it be lovely if it still like that now, progress hasn't been kind
👍
What's the difference between, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Canberra, Hobart, Perth and Darwin............Only Brisbane City has flooded.
Those cities towns are poo towns everyday. A flood every decade or so no problems . Plus my part of Brisbane doesn't flood.
