Orients are too much overpriced in india,even their sister company Seiko although priced little bit higher than international market is priced better than them.

Orient doesn't use Seiko movement .. and it's definitely value for money.. Not a chronometer but highly accurate.. The Kamasu is a killer Gem.. especially the red burst
Unfortunately the diver rating is not ISO certified.. but to a normal person( no lt professional diver), it's absolutely a good rating.
Technically yes, it is their own in-house movement, but a lot of underlying processes and parts are common between seiko and orient. And yes, the kamasu red dial is 🔥

The best part about Orient is that they make their own in-house movement instead of borrowing from Seiko. All the brands under the Seiko -Epson umbrella have their unique distinct identity.

Seiko SRPD59k1 is priced at 21k on Amazon currently whereas Orient Mako II is at around 25k. Do you think the price difference is justified if I am to use it as a daily driver (and not for diving)?
Also, is Orient Ray II similar to Mako II (as that variant has orange dial option so was considering that)?

Rolex is still far far more expensive than its sister tudor. Orient and Seiko don't have that 10x price difference
The thing with Tudor is you spend 3 lacs on a watch and then every single day regret not buying/ saving up for a rolex. No matter how much people hate up on Rolex these days due to the availability factor, the fact is that everyone's darkest desire is to get one.

Hey I have the same Seiko model. I have a question. When the watch stops after not using it for sometime. How many rotations of hand winding do you use to start it.ine doesn't start using only hand winding so might be some issue.
Many winding watches start working only after a little shake.Its not a fault as such .The spring action needs to start functioning which sometimes needs a boost.

Bro 1 thing I would like to point out is that u said for a proper diver watch they can't give a see through case back as the case back will break. This is completely wrong and a misconception.
Omega Seamaster and Blancpain 50 fathoms have see through case backs and they are diver watches. Tissot also give see through case back in their diver watches.
And if they are giving a sapphire glass as the case back there is no way it can break. Honestly the water pressure required to break a sapphire case back is more than a diver can endure. So humans in their diver suit can't dive to the depths of the water that can break a sapphire glass. The diver will die first before the watch case breaks.
Also think about it - If there is a glass display on top of the watch and this is not breaking, then why the glass case back will break? Many diver watches of 200 m has mineral crystal display and if they upper mineral glass isn't breaking during dives, there is no way the glass case back will break. So even a affordable 200m diver watch can have a see through case back with mineral glass, sapphire case back is not required for affordable 200m diver wathes and still it won't break during diving.
The reason behind not giving a see through case back in a diver watch is different. Diver watches are considered as tool watches and they are meant for diving puporse, not for showcasing the beauty of the movement inside. See through case backs has no other function other than aesthetics. Since a diver watch is a tool watch, traditionally it is not considered right to give a see through case back in a diver as tool watches are meant for their operational purpose, not for their beuty. So diver watches don't come with a see through case back because of tradition but there are some exceptions too.

Orient is a subsidiary company of the Seiko Time Corporation .So whether it uses a Seiko movement or an in- house Orient movement, it 's all the same.Seiko movements are also built in-house by the same company.I dont understand your logic.
