I want to express concern over your knuckle soreness. You MUST rest your hands for several days at least. There is inflammation. They are screaming at you complaining of abuse. This will escalate to a permanent condition if you don’t pay attention. I speak from experience and regret.
I care about you and want you to be able to knit pain free in future. Free all your RUclips friends from worry - back off for a while to allow healing. 🥰
Hi Jane Thanks for your concern, I realised afterwards that I should have gone to bed earlier but at the time I wanted to know that what was left to knit in the morning would be manageable. I did not knit for the next few days as I was working and video editing. I think the issue was compounded by the weight of the garment and the fact that I was not using my usual style due to the big needles and bulky yarn. You will be pleased to know that today I had a little knit and was totally comfortable, I will discuss this in my next video because I don't want to encourage anybody else to be as silly. Congratulations on doing the vest! It is beautiful and Kitty looked great in it! If you don't mind my saying, if you held your needles and yarn a little differently, you'd be able to knit much quicker! I know, habits are hard to break. Everyone needs to do what makes them comfortable. LOL.
Hi, Yes I was knitting it very slowly because of the the yarn and needles being so thick, also the weight, all of which I think caused the pain I was getting at the end of the day, but I couldn't hold it normally, It was horrible. Thanks Gary

Thank you Jo x. Knitting hours aught to figure into that 24 hour time period, too. Gary did that in even less knitting hours than 24-hour clock hours. Deducting the pattern creating time, sleep time, eating time and video instructional and posting time shows even more effective speed knitting. It was extremely fun to watch. That’s was bloody great Gary. 👏👏👏Laughed a lot. I’ll try this and see if I can do it. You looked buggered at one stage I felt for Mrs Smith you should buy her a stand ( a Fone holder thing )they come with a remote. So she could set you up and go to bed. $20.

Thanks Grant, Glad you enjoyed it. Yes I was absolutely knackered by 12 at night, but I got 6 hours sleep and pushed on at 6 in the morning, even though Jo was in bed and didn't film it. It was a fun challenge, you should try it, now Kitty has decided she wants me to knit a sleeping bag, I will have to prepare well for that one. Cheers Gary

What a challenge Gary! You did great. I love the pullover a lot. Kitty looks so great in it. It does look like an expressionist painting a bit, doesn`t it, Kitty is right. Jo, you are always the moral and practical support in out Knitting Man`s endevours, lol. You deserve a medal as well.
By the way: I do have the DVD Howard`s End in my collection as well. I love those kind of movies. An other good one is "The Remains of the Day", which is currently playing on Netflix too. And if you like the older movies with Helana Bonhem Carter in it, I can recommend "A Room with a View" or "Wings of the Dove". She is also an excellent Ophelia in the 1990 Hamlet, produced by Franco Zefirelli. Mel Gibson plays an awesome Hamlet. The best one in my opinion!. There is also Glen Close as Hamlet`s mother and Alan Bates as Claudius and Ian Holm as Polonius. :-)
I also love the movies with Kate Winslet or Emma Thompson. I do have quiet a collection of historical movies. Lately I have been re watching The Hobbit and all of the Lord of the Rings. Good stuff when working on knitting projects, lol. I have been embroidering too and mending things while watching. :-)

Hi Christina, A Room with a View is Jo's favourite film. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Doris typed the crosses, yes they are all great films. I doubt I will get to watch so much in a day for weeks to come unless I do another knit in a day challenge. Which may happen Kitty is talking about a top down knitted in the round short sleeved jumper. Try size 15 needle s. Thicker yarn.
Takes half the time 😅
In the future the needles will be so big you'll be able to knit a jumper with jusy one stitch
