3-4 gigabytes for a vanilla server if you are just playing with a few friends, if you use mods use 5-6 GBs. If you have a heavily modded server with say more than 250 mods you should probably use 8+ gigabytes. And if you plan on owning a server with more than 20 active players and running it 24/7 you will probably need to find a server provider unless you are very experienced and have the needed hardware.

Good stuff ThioJoe and love you software Videos, I'm a 51 year old PC gamer (from 486 on up) and have found that the main reason I need a new PC is the processor is to weak for the new games that come out. The easiest thing for beginner PC gamers is to find the highest end game on the market (2018/2019 for now) and get a PC that matches the recommended requirements or better. Just did my first build and would like to share some tips that I have found out. 1) due to copyright protect you can't play Blueray or DvD through HDMI cable. 2) optical disk drives are good for mix song CD's you can play in your car, if it gets damaged or lost you can burn a new one. 3) if you want to watch movies you can only download to the drive that the OS is on, you can't put them on storage devices (SD cards, external storage, ect..), for laptop or tablet I would recommend a device that has a large amount of device storage. 4) buy at you own risk from basement builders, main problem is if the OS is copied it will my not be recognized by Microsoft and you will have to buy the OS which could run you an extra $100.

Graphics Card/Gpu Graphics Processing Unit: When the cpu generates the world the Gpu generates the Graphics. I hope my Minecraft explanations cleared everything up
problem is, no warranty, no tech support, usually not cheaper, and there's a good chance that it won't perform as hoped for. why waste time building when you could be using.
BuzzCola 3 Bro, I live in another country, and buying parts is just expensive, I might end up paying 400 dollars for a 6th gen i5, and building a computer is not worth it; because I am switching from a ps4 to a pc, and the prices, combined with the lack of variety of parts in the country I currently live on, makes it hard to switch from one another... I am gonna end up buying a pre-built pc and save money to buy parts to upgrade it on the future, but man, do you think it's fair I have to pay nearly a thousand US dollars to buy a 1070ti?
Nitro Express dude that exactly whts going through my head I have $1000 to buy a pc right now and my head is fucking spinning and I dont know wht to do
a person can get advice on building your own computer, but what happens if it doesn't perform or maybe even work? then it's oops and you're in deep water. if you want to save money, checkout the Dell factory store for refurbished models. you get a warranty and support. the single thing that sold me on Dell was their online testing. using their support assistant, the whole computer is tested. it may take 15 to 30 minutes to test, but hard drives, ram, cpu and everything is tested. in my case, the test showed me that a lockup was caused by a bad stick of ram. EBay has some good deals, but stay with offerings by brick and mortar stores that offer a warranty. good luck.
@weatherdynamics: that's because hard-drives are designed the same [way] as those old vinyl-record players (except that instead of the disc being vinyl or whatever it is, it's copper) --- they don't like being jostled-around-or-moved-around while the disc is spinning --- so it's NOT a good-idea to be moving-around the laptop while the hard-drive--activity-light is running / while the hard-drive is in the middle of doing something.

Ram Random Access Memory: Rams go along with the Hard Drive, Rams help with accessing that storage Rams also can store memory but very little memory so you have to have both for everything to run nice and smooth, let's say you're in Minecraft and you see your inventory, the inventory will be the Hard Drive and the Hotbar with be the Ram, You want to use a certain item in your inventory so you put it to your hotbar so that you can access it.
Cpu Central Processing Unit: so lets say you want to generate a world in minecraft but first you have to get through the loading screen that's the cpu trying to process the hard drive to the ram.
Graphics Card/Gpu Graphics Processing Unit: When the cpu generates the world the Gpu generates the Graphics.
I hope my Minecraft explanations cleared everything up
NOT BUY, BUILD ONE!!!
problem is, no warranty, no tech support, usually not cheaper, and there's a good chance that it won't perform as hoped for. why waste time building when you could be using.
EBay has some good deals, but stay with offerings by brick and mortar stores that offer a warranty. good luck.
Cotton Chops Seartch Tech deals 1000$ gaming pc THANK me later Promise (BUILD IT) It takes 1 Hour to build And you save probably 300$
Excellent instructions for a beginner, like me. Clear and concise, too. Thank you

Great point on SSDs for laptops. I've had several mechanical hard drives die on laptops, and hardly any on desktops.
@weatherdynamics:
that's because hard-drives are designed the same [way] as those old vinyl-record players (except that instead of the disc being vinyl or whatever it is, it's copper) --- they don't like being jostled-around-or-moved-around while the disc is spinning --- so it's NOT a good-idea to be moving-around the laptop while the hard-drive--activity-light is running / while the hard-drive is in the middle of doing something.
Y'know, for having 1'000'000+ subs, you don't really get that many views...
Video released 1 minute ago
ThioJoe 4 minutes ago. You oughta get at least 1k in the first 5 minutes if you have 1mil subs.
Cringe Control i think most of his subs are inactive or he bought the acc
Cringe Control because he has a tech channel and most people don't watch tech videos unless they need help with tech related stuff
And for only having 3 views you talk out your ass to a successful RUclipsr who provides daily information to hundreds of thousands of viewers. It’s funny how you try to calculate how many views he should get in a specific time frame when you don’t even make videos. Get your goofy ass outta here
Thanks, helped a lot!
2:20 buy only 1GB RAM and then download 32GB RAM. :P
Modern problems need modern solution

O hell yeah, it's far better than trying to get good or true information from a best buy sales tec.
@@jeffinman7606 what's wrong with bes buy employee? Do they lie?
I surely can't say that about all them in general. But a couple I've ask questions or they just offered up opinions was not all correct. Not all the people working in the computer department are always well experienced and full of facts. Some tend to bullshit like a car salesman to help close a deal to put it nicely. Fake it till they make it. So if you've done your homework before going to the store you'll be just fine.
THIO JOE- thank you for another excellent video, just proofing that you know what are you talking about it 👍🖥💻👍. Big Thanks from your Big Fan.
