They were smart. Waited until after the show to spend money on things they can do themselves. If you can style your own wigs, and well, why spend extra money in that department when there’s SO much more to spend money on, right? They’re really busy now and likely didn’t have the time to design a wig for the finale, so spend that money on QUALITY, especially because since they know how to do it, it has to be made better than they’d be able to do, if they’re gonna spend the big bucks on it.

It does not have to be when you do your own sewing, wigs, and accessories. No shade to the queens that don't, but when you can't you will then be paying not only for materials but years/decades of skilled trade experience that someone else took the time and expense to learn.

Sugar and Spice were also saying that whatever synthetic wigs they did have, were styled by themselves, which is why they only paid for the cost of the wig from Amazon (but probably actually more for the styling products, plus some were likely double stacked). Also the expensive human hair wig is paid for with post-season coin, and they likely had only synthetic wigs while on Drag Race

I use to have cancer and wigs for one to look natural you can’t just get it off Amazon my wig I got was around 3,890 which you can definitely get ones for cheaper but I wanted to have one that looked like my hair before the cut the color and it was real hair. Ofc this is a completely different situation but I am just saying wigs can get very pricey 😂
