Alan Wake II is a survival horror game developed by Remedy Entertainment and published by Epic Games Publishing. A sequel to Alan Wake, the story follows best-selling thriller novelist Alan Wake, who has been trapped in an alternate dimension for 13 years, as he attempts to escape by writing a horror story involving an FBI agent named Saga Anderson. The game is available for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on October 27, 2023.

You don't remember Ahti? He was in Control he works at the FBC Control is set in the same Universe as Alan Wake in fact the first Alan Wake game is referened to a Altered World Event incident in the game and the Player Character actually is a fan of Alan Wake's Books

@@palashkesh025 The word etymology of the word janitor includes "doorkeeper", and is tied to Janus, the god of gates, portals, and doors. I realized this when first playing Control and talking about Ahti with someone and on a whim looked it up.
37:02 Omg, Ahti!!! I So love all the over flow from Control that’s in this game and how so many things tie together. It’s like every little thing I see from that game here, the art style, lore and imagery excites me. Control is one of my Favorite story line games and this is quickly becoming my second. Woo! They are both part of Remedy's Connected Universe so many things you'll find common in those games, also if you have played the Control's
DLC AWE , you'll know it was crossover event for both alan wake and control hence connecting both games.

Well of course that book by Dr. Casper Darling is there for a reason! Casper Darling is one of the characters in Control! He tells the player about his experiments on the Astral Plane and his encounters in Slidescape-36! He is played by Matthew Porretta, who also voices Alan Wake.
I went back and binged watched your game series of Alan Wake from 12 years ago .. Now I can watch this series and know what's going on lol .. Thank you Brad 😊

There is a portrait of Dr. Casper Darling in control, I think he is a researcher for the Federal Bureau of Control!! Wow!! I love that they seem to be building a universe here!!! I love the X-Files vibes that this game and control give off Remedy should really stick with this genre cause if they do, we are in for some really cool games!!!
This game is awesome, the story is so interesting 39:02 but this really captured me. The simplicity of just a characters mouth moving but they captured it SO well. This game is so good… I love the realistic scenes too where they actually play their parts on the TV show interview!

If you like the first game you'll love this. So much better. I'm not saying the first game isn't good, it's one of my favourites. But AW2 is just on a totally different level 👌

With the Many Worlds book from the scientist from Control, Max Payne and Alex Casey are just different universe versions of the same person. I don't care what anyone else says.
When Door is asking Alan how he feels about Sam Lake playing Alex Casey, he makes the famously memed face from Max Payne's low-poly original character model. I was dying, he still looks exactly like that 15+ year old jpeg when he makes the "gotta poop real bad" face.
This is a great series so far I’m excited to see more. It feels like I’m watching a real Netflix series 😂🤍

Oh my god, I love the cut scene with Mr. Door. It was so awesome to see the Poets of the Fall members as the fictional band and the other actors in person. Also loved the Oh Deer mug and that the writer of the game played the Alex Casey character. This was so brilliant and I absolutely love it. Everything about this game is so awesome so far as well as your gameplay. There is also a music video that goes a long with this called Harald of Darkness by Old Gods of Asgard. I highly recommend it.
I have a voice acting background and Matthew Porretta's voice fits so well in this game. If you guys have a minute, listen to the 'Departure' manuscripts from the first game. Speaking of Porretta, he's been recently hurt pretty bad in a bar fight, let's send him some positive vibes.

Uhh he was in a bar fight, but that happened like in I think 2016 lol. He actually had to have an emergency eye surgery, almost lost his vision in one of his eyes, assuming glass got in his eye from a mug slammed to his face by a drunk guy. Thankfully he ended up alright.

I love how there are two clues to the door code. The Darlings book, to make players recall him say the code in Controll and the code in The Old Gods Of Asgard room which is exactly what Darling said.
As I was writing that last part, I started to think. Darling with the help of Hedron "assended" and gained the ability to travel between dimentions. Perhaps he actually put those clues for Alan to find?

This game has the feel of the first Max Payne game, the same narration style, similar soundtrack. Amazing. I heard they're remastering all the Max Payne parts, that would be great if they actually do it.

Am I the only one that can’t unsee Agent Casey as Max Payne?? I know Brad mentioned this in part 2.. but I can’t unsee it!!!
Nope. It is because that is Sam Lake! He is the creative director, co-writer and director of AW 2 as well as AW 1 and Control. He also did Max Payne and provided his likeness. That’s actually Sam Lake in the live action sequence in this video helping to play out an already very meta scenario.

I love the way that it's showing that "same universe" as Control. Previously they felt similar but the easter eggs seemed more like the same developer rather than because they were the same universe, but as some as I heard the humming I knew we were gonna get to see Ahti. Made it so good!

Oh Brad, if you’d played Control you’d know who Dr. Darling is. You’d know why the letters “AWE” are spray painted everywhere. You’d have so much more context to this story, like the janitor Ahti. You missed a huge part of the lore from not finishing control. Terrific game
