Some musical backing would’ve been great because Neil was spot on with his pitch at first, and Jason kept changing the key, so Neil had to try to change with him to make it fit.

I love how Jason is laughing, but then immediately gets into character, but it's no surprise. That's a good actor for you. What pros! I love the HIMYM cast so much.
josh's little punch in time to their singing at 1:26 is so cute, he clearly has heard them do this so often that he knows exactly the beat where their singing starts to pick up intensity
They got farther on the Actors Studio version - also, Jason kept the right key in that one - However, this is still still still so freaking awesome... Almost 8 years ago when HIMYM was still in it's 'infancy' - Who'd have thunk it would've had a glorious 9 year run? (Well, except for that ending part, but HEY, you can write your own!!)
I randomly started to sing Confrontation in the middle of my Drama lesson, and I was surprised to hear someone join in singing Valjean's part. I looked up and saw it was my Drama teacher. We sang it all. Best lesson ever? Yes.
Gotta say, this is the kinda "confidence" of singing I wanted in the Les Mis film. Don't get me wrong, on the most part, I think Russell Crowe and Hugh Jackman did well. But there were some times, especially when they weren't in musical number but moreso just "sing-talking" or when they first begin to get into a musical number, they kinda sounded...off. Like those people at karaoke who are a bit nervous or not used to singing with full force right off the cuff.
Agreed, this is more musical theater type performing and the movie was…well, more Hollywood movie type singing and who knows what it would have been like that they used theater actors
@@SCharlesDennicon Russel Crowe is an amazing actor but has a limited vocal range. If only they had Philip Quast as Javert in the movie and it would've been nearly perfect (Hugh Jackman, although with a wider vocal range and more experience, does have his issues as well).
During the face off between Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe I was seeing those two doing that scene. I'd completely forgotten that this is a Les Mis song and was waaaay too excited when I recognized it in the cinema... what can I say? Awesome song, awesome dudes.
I have seen this musical live and i think that this is one of the best songs and I think that How I Met My Mother is a great show. The best from two worlds!
I saw Company at the NYPhilharmonic on Friday and the whole time NPH was signing, I thought "He'd be amazing in Les Mis!" Low and behold, I stumble across this! Freaking brilliant!

wow, that was awesome! especially the last part when they both sing at the same time. they should do that on an episode :) (best musical i've ever seen, btw...)
I will never get over Josh in the background. He enjoys his life so much omg.
he is just happy and surprised that he is on tv
can I ask if you are jewish?
No I am not, full on African American here! #SpaceJam
Space jam? @@marca8052
I wish they could have worked this into the show somehow. Like Ted drags them to Les Miserables and they ended up living it and memorized it
haha maybe when barney's doing his 'play' from season 2 - this aired just before they would have started working on the episode!
Probably too much money to license the song or something
I want to see them perform a full version of this sooooo badly
Some musical backing would’ve been great because Neil was spot on with his pitch at first, and Jason kept changing the key, so Neil had to try to change with him to make it fit.
I love how every time someone starts the confrontation they immediately start singing it in an English accent.
The characters have English accents and American accents ruin it.
@@TheCosmerenaut1 um the plays set in France so they should have French accent

0:29 that exchange of looks omg
Excellent. Neither one ever cracked a smile. They stayed totally in character. Brilliant on-the-spot a cappella performance.

the cast is just like, "You should see them doing all the other scenes. When Neil does Fantine's death we all get really emotional"
I really wanted to hear Jason go "I AM WARNING YOU JAVERT!!!" I like how he defaulted to the Colm Wilkinson impersonation.
14 years later, I must say I found my favourite video ever, thank you. Just thank you.
I love how I always come back to this after 15 years
This clip seriously never gets old.
This is the best thing I've ever seen. Jason Segel & NPH are amazing.

17 years later its still the best video ever
And I thought I had seen every presentation of "LesMiz"; one of the best!

Hahaha yessss
I can't believe Tammy 2 made Barney Stinson and Marshall Erikson sing Les Mis

I think that Russell was amazing as Javert! I loved his voice
I have seen this musical live and i think that this is one of the best songs and I think that How I Met My Mother is a great show. The best from two worlds!
I found myself yelling "shut up!" at the audience. I wanted them to finish
That was amazing! I am so happy right now, I couldn't stop smiling. I could watch those men singing 'til my dying day.
This is EPIC!!! It inspired us to post our own Confrontation video (a parody though). NPH is the real deal baby!
The first and only time i tuned into megan mullaly's show, and This is what I saw.
What great timing!
I love how Josh reaches for Jason's high five and she grabs his hand instead
This is AWESOME! Les Miserables and How I Met Your Mother! That Combination is Legand... Wait for it... Dary! Legendary!
Why dont we all just admit that we watched this with our phones , holding it with one hand...
Yes. Just... Yes. Just, everything about this video was amazing!!!!
The bro fist at the end made it xD
I would love to see them do this seriously. NPH's voice is surprisingly deep enough to perform this part.
People don’t realize how hard this song is to sing
Just saw Les Mis, I finally get this! And I love it even more.
I wanted to hear Jason Segel to sing "I AM WARNING YOU, JAVERT!"

There is literally nothing better than hearing Neil Patrick Harris do an impression of Inspector Javert.
My dream parks and rec and HIMYM crossover... kinda
This is by far the greatest thing I have seen in my life.
forget Crowe and Jackman, show me Les Mis staring these 2
I hope they still do this
