It may just be difficult to get fat or curvy with an economic downturn. So they're making the effects of hunger look good.

It has less to do with that. we have beaten the privileged over the head only to wake up that we want privilege ourselves. Thinness is a privilege. It’s also white adjacent. Two in one.

But it also only took a whole slew of fat acceptance creators dying for people to also realize that being morbidly obese isn’t healthy. We just need moderation people, moderation .

Thanks for your insights, Brittany. 💖☺️ I concur that neither extreme thinness nor morbid obesity is healthy! Moderation definitely is key here.

Thinness has always been in and it always will be. Society as a whole celebrates Thinness. Why do you think when a celebrity who is know for being overweight suddenly loses the weigth. Everybody and thier mother congrats them. People say to them oh wow your so pretty now and you look amazing ect I have read stories and watched vidoes on RUclips about people who have been on both sides of the spectrum and how they were treated Before and After weigth loss. more often then not they say when skinny they get more attention and respect just in gerneral treated like a normal person and also people are just Nicer to them. Verse when they were fat they was seen as lazy incompetent unhygienic or just flat out igorned. Thier is a level of Discrimination and bias against people who happen to be Overweigth I believe it.

Thanks for commenting again Joel! 🩵 That’s a good point. I have also seen some celebrities being treated differently after their weight loss. Thin does seem to always be in. I saw one such comment on Adele’s Instagram post after she lost weight saying maybe she would have kept her husband had she lost weight sooner. I think it’s more so people just treating people they personally don’t find attractive with disrespect.

Skinny was always in. Americans were just living in their delusion. Other countries were having "skinny" challenge meanwhile and laughed at "fat" Americans. That is the truth. Whole country was living in their tiny bubble thinking that beauty standard have changed.

Body positivity was progression in many ways. Women felt much better for having stretch marks and cellulite. You are right in that it was not 100% honest, in the fact that we all knew that we need to stay skinny in order to be at our most "respected" based on how we look by society. I always thought silently that some people took it too far and did not realise anymore that no matter what they do for society they wll still be "ugly" they will just be less ugly and more respected for it, but still they won't be the ideal.
And that is because we live in a deeply SEXIST, image focused society and if you are a woman and you are not thin you are not even a person. That is why everyone is praying that their daughter will lose weight, while they leave their HUGE son alone to focus on running the family business.
Body positivity highlighted even more for me the importance of being of a certain shape and size. But overal it was positive, because we all have flawss, or will someday, and the more we accept them and feel great the better. The problem is with society, not "body positivity", the issue runs deeper and nobody adressed it.... for some reason. Oh wait I know, women STILL shouldn't complain about EVERYTHING.

Curves were always in style, they will never go out of style. But it is great that people are not obsessed anymore and that the slim body type is again in style too. As a curvy woman, slim thick, I always knew that men like my body, to the point of being CREEPY and OFFENSIVE! Disgusting honestly. The celebration of slim thick was not always great for me, because it meant that people were obsessed wth my shape. Now I hope that they will find something else... not another woman! It is over with men overly sexualizing women! Or at least it will be. ;) Trust me.
