- Welcome on board the Qatar Airways Boeing 787-9 in Economy Class from Chennai to Doha, thanks for joining!
I visited the Dubai Airshow 2023 this week and there Qatar Airways was proudly displaying a B787-9 and it reminded me how I had recently filmed an experience on it yet not published it, so I quickly published it now in between video’s.
I like the Business Class on this aircraft and have never had the chance to try the Economy Class before. I managed to book one of the two best seats in the house which allowed me to get in and out anytime I wanted. This was very useful as the B787 seats are known to be narrower vs the competitors..

Hi, Good to see your content from Chennai which is my homebase. They have opened new terminal in August which is modern & clean.
Also good to content which is mix of Economy Class (90% of the population) fly on this segment & Business Class.

This was interesting to watch! I sadly didn't know Dubai airshow was going to happen and I left Dubai right before Dubai Airshow 2023. I'd love to see an Airshow someday.

Qatar provides the best connectivity to Chennai from second tier US cities because of their codeshare with American airlines. The only think I dislike is the arrival and departure time in Chennai. Wish they have multiple flights like Emirates.
I fully agree.. That sole flight has such a terrible timing, I was so tired 😴
The other flight is operated by IndiGo.. So a quality drop. Maybe there will be more flights soon!
It's the same thing for Bangalore-Doha route....if iam not wrong, the bilateral agreement is outdated and the Indian aviation ministry doesn't want to give more slots and seats to GCC carriers so they can Bank on Indigo and Air India mega new fleet and multi hub models...so possibly we may see more flights on this route but from Indian carriers

Qatar Airways 787-9 Economy Class is a product that hasn’t received a whole lot of coverage here on RUclips, so thanks for this review! I’ve never flown on QR, but from what I’ve seen these seats look a lot better than those on the 788.
Also, I love the Dreamliner’s weird sounds!

Your details of every aircraft on the apron is simply mind boggling. You being served a cold meal cannot be an exception. I am sure other passengers were also served a cold meal. Maybe a glitch in the meal warming equipment. As again, a wonderful report. Cheers!

20:13, Wow, 2 Qatar Airways, Airbus A320 in the 1 world livery, never seen that before. United Airlines has 3 to 4 Star alliance livery on the Boeing 777-200ER.
Qatar has quite a few planes in special liveries and many I saw on this day 😊
I flew on one of the United Star Alliance liveries, so nice!

Chennai airport looks to me a little bit outdated,hopefully it will get renovated.. QR's B789 looks good, I think I will give them another chance, after they changed CEO and what they did to me..😅

TK keeps changing the aircraft they operate on routes, and I believe from AUH it’s a late night departure.. I try to avoid those.. But I’m flying tomorrow from AUH so a video is coming up!

love your Hamad ramp footage. Still not clear why the food containers were put in the cargo hold, are they the empty ones?? Was your aircraft pilot that was inspecting the engine or the Barcelona bound pilot?
Yes probably empty ones from the previous flight.
I thought the Captain was admiring the engine but he was just looking in what stage the crew bag offloading procedure was 😛

14:18 depends. I have a very sensitive stomach. But as long as it was not cold for a long time or kept in a fridge it is fine. And even if, most of the issues can be handled by our immune system. Otherwise I simple talk with the crew and usually they offer you a warm meal again.

@@TheLayoverAviation I also prefer the -10, It’s just I haven’t been on the Midsize -9 Variant, ive only been on a United/BA 787-10 and Air India/ANA 787-8. I booked a Etihad 787-9 Flight for 2024 so hopefully it doesn’t change to a A350-1000 or a B777
I thought all international operations have moved to the new Chennai terminal and the old one will be closed or used for domestic operations... Am i missing something here??

I like Qatar Airways, but in my opinion they are way too overrated to be considered “world’s best”.
The food in Economy class that i’ve had is always bad on Qatar.
Maybe their business class is one of the best? But definitely not their economy class 😂

Imagine you do EWR-SIN on Singapore A350 business class 18 hours 😂
Somehow I really try to avoid those kind of flight, I rather have a break in between and take a shower. I feel so nasty after such a long flight, unless it’s in EK First.. But that cost$ a lot 😅
@@TheLayoverAviation I agree, whenever I travel to to Singapore from New York, I always try to avoid the non-stop flight even if it’s on a A350 or B777. I always get a layover at FRA so I can shower there and feel fresh on the next flight. I did this flight in 2022 and it was so BAD. I would prefer flying on a A380 to FRA and a B777 to SIN 🥲

Meal served cold is just outright unacceptable for an airline that calls itself the best in the world. If you raised it with the crew and they didn't heat it for you or give a replacement.... I woukd be concerned as I am flying with them in 2 months😂
Maybe I was amongst the last to be served and it got cold.. You never know. But it’s ok this time as I wasn’t hungry at all. But yes, I hope the meal was hot for others otherwise it’s not cool.

Never thought you liked Indian food. If you have a long layover in Dallas, do you go out and try impressive Indian food along with great TexMex cuisine.
I was in Dallas just a few months ago but always go for Tex mex or BBQ as Indian food I have great ones in Dubai! But perhaps next time I’ll consider 😉
