My son and I went up the shard Sunday 8/10/23 his birthday present from me. It was amazing. He’s favourite singer is George Ezra.

Great video Shawn, this is exactly we expected when we've been there a few weeks ago. The views are awesome but don't eat up here folks, it's a tourist's trap... They charged a lot for the quality of the foods ( example: 12 pounds for 4 small pieces of breads and 12 pounds for tap water )

The London Shard's highest 72nd-floor observatory gets you up to 801 ft above the ground. If I ever visited the Shard, the only negative thing on my mind would be that I pay less here in the Chicago area to go to 1,029 ~ 1,050 ft (94th, 95th, and 96th floors) at the John Hancock Center observatory and cocktail lounge. And 1,353 ft observatory at the Sears Tower here. (floor 103) A total 552 ft higher than the London Shard observatory can get you. Even if you put the London Eye on top of the Shards 72nd-floor observatory the Sears Tower observatory would still be higher.
But then again, the 780 ~ 801 ft view from the Shard of London is fantastic. So it would still be worth it to me. And height isn't always everything. I had a fantastic view from just 230 ft in the Milwaukee WI area that I really liked. 🙂
Hi shawn, another great London landmark. But once up the burj Khalifa everything else seems so short lol, that other building you mentioned going up will be 978 foot when finished, about 40 foot shorter than the shard. You done all those sights in one day ,nice full day.i took the family up the shard a week before we went to Dubai, break them in.lol

We visited The Shard one 2018 and loved it. Just going through other people's videos to remind myself how we got there and what happens haha.
This is the best viewing tower in the world in my opinion due to what you can actually see. London has got a lot more to see compared to Dubai and New York.... Might be a bit of bias coming from a Londoner but it really is the best city in the world
I went up there last week,made a trip to London just to visit the Shard.Excellent views,but I did notice another building other side of the river is a lot higher.

That other tall skyscraper opposite the shard is 22 Bishopsgate but it is 32 metres shorter then the shard. Shard is 310 tall and 22 bishopsgate is 278m tall. Shard is 1016ft high and 22 bishopsgate is 912ft high
My partner and I will be going the day after tomorrow. For our 12th anniversary. I am petrified but really excited at the same time. But mostly petrified lol
22 Bishopsgate is a beast in the square mile but will look great when finished

I'm planning a visit in July and I'll probably do the "all included" entry as they say there's no queue on arrival.
You made me feel a little calmer by the information you gave as to possible seating as I'm not good with height but keen to see the spectacular views.
Can I ask what camera you use as rhe zoom was incredible.
It made such a difference to see the landmarks in close up.

Was only having a laugh btw, love the videos, am taking my daughter to twin lakes in a couple of weeks, she liked the look of the park from your video.
That's a cool lift. It already looks like you're in a tall building with all the mirrors in it, though it would be funny if there was just a massive spiral staircase like in the monument.
Definitely need to do this next time we're in London. Don't like heights but it looks like an amazing experience

What a fantastic view of London..... still not so sure about the ultra modern architecture.... but the Shard is warming up to me. Have you thought about doing a DaVinci Code location video? The Templar Church and A deep tour of Westminster Abby would be super cool for me. Looks like the Queen was at home, as the flag was flying over Buckingham Palace! Should have stopped in for tea! I can't WAIT for more London. Even though I have never been there, I could easily call London home.

We did it last year . It's really good . We did the ADAM lookout in Amsterdam a few weeks ago that was good to .
The Shard imposes on every other view in London and you cannot view proper detail from it either. If it is good for storing cauliflowers for the Irish market then ask Auntie if the west coast want it! Belgium say they will buy it too! However, one other person wants the Shard 'on the front'. O God, please no!

once again a superb video, i went up the shard 5 years ago and found it VERY expensive, also altough its the same height as the eiffel tower , you can only go 800ft up with the shard but the eiffel tower you can go up almost 1000ft, plus the eiffel tower is half the price and there is much much more to see and do, with the shard its just up to the top and thats it, there wernt even any toilets at the top so they just wanted to get you up and down as quickly as possible sorry but i thought is was a RIP OFF
The Eiffel Tower's top observatory is 905 ft. And I hear you. It's cheaper for me to go to the top of the John Hancock Center here in Chicago (Based on the same footprint as the Eiffel Tower, though just taller.) and go up to the 94th-floor observatory at 1,029 ft or 1,050 ft (95th and 96 the floors) for quite a bit less. Or even the Sears Tower (WillisTower) also in Chicago at 1,353 ft to its 103rd floor. The Sears Tower and John Hancock Center offer glass floors, historical facts, and interactive entertainment. The Sears and Hancock also offer full bathrooms, gift shops/bars, and restaurants. 🙂
But still, the London Shard is the only other high vantage point you can get in the city of London besides the 443 ft London Eye.

I get a great view of The Shard from my office (I work in the Walkie Talkie) and most of London. It's a beautiful building but I do prefer the Gherkin and the Cheesegrater 😀 1 Undershaft looks like it'll be good from the renders, just hurry up and start building it. For other good (free) views try 22 Fenchurch Street (Walkie Talkie) and Fen Court Garden.

Definitely! Around 2 hours is great for a visit!
An interesting city. Nice views. When I was there, none of the new, modern buildings had even been thought of. It so different now. And construction is crazy!
