Finally a very organized compilation of Lakota 🎉 I am not Lakota but we all need to support the preservation of indigenous languages around the world ❤
Haú tȟaŋháŋši, líla taŋyáŋ waŋčhíyanke lo. I really enjoyed this lesson of yours and truly look foreword to more. I would like to respectfully add for those who may like to know, that southern Lakȟota people such as Oglála and Sičháŋǧu will use Kaká for grandfather. All 3 are good and understood. Tȟuŋkášila is more formal then Lalá and Kaká, so it will depend on how familiar you are with the male elder you are speaking to/of. Phílamayayelo, tókša akhé
I have native blood aswell it’s awesome to learn Lakota I hope to learn multiple indigenous dialects. I’m starting with Lakota thank you so much Wóyawašte
This is good for me. I was born in Wyoming. I have Native blood in me. I am not sure how much because I lost my mother and father while I was young but this helps me know my birth language.
I'm going to use these phrases with my cousin (whose really like a sister.) She's Lakota but hasn't spoken her language and told me she's been forgetting it. So I'm learning Lakhótiyapi so I can learn and she can remember. Pílamaya 💜🙏🏻
I’m Cheyenne River Lakota, I’m a lost bird, I was adopted out when I was a kid, and never learned the language very much, or the culture. I wish I knew.
Wopilo tanka I’m trying and wanting to learn my native ancestral language and learn about the culture and more of our history and heritage. You are a very great teacher and I can’t wait to learn more from you.
Oh yeah, he's really great. And he has a very good sense of humor. I've been learning from different ones for a few weeks, but Mr. Little Elk is the best.
I'm running around saying this 2 ppl in my area... Hahaha...they think I'm crazy...its ok I have never felt I fit in w any of these ppl or there idea of "normal" anyways..😉👍💕💕
I need someone 2 speak and talk with on a daily basis... it is hard to learn a language when you have no one else speaking it daily. I downloaded a tribal Council app for learning Lakota for simple words....like verbs ..phrases..animals ext..
I am Lakota and am very much wanting to speak with others learning as well. All I know right now is colors lol. I want to create a online group where people could do exactly what your saying.
It means in English thank you for this. If the subject is understood, then it is fine by it's self, but if the subject is unknown or ambiguous, it is best to explain what you mean. (example) You are eating and and you want to thank them for the food as they are giving it, it would be fine to say Phílamayaye (Thank you for this) Lets say you have been eating for a wile maybe some other things have been said, it would be best to make clear what you are thanking for. Niwóyute líla phílamayaye (Thank you really allot for your meal). Note.. if you are male it is traditional to add "lo" on the end. Male (Phílamayayelo)
You may identify as whatever you choose. Others may or may not respect it. If you be who you are, others will reflect it, and they will be reminded of who they are too. In this way, the new becomes old and old becomes new.

Can I identify as a Native American? I'm sick of New Amerika.

Too much commentary to learn to speak
