Mike ! I have refrained from saying this over the last couple of episodes, but I’m sorry I have to say it now “ I’m so jealous “ there I’ve said it. 😉😂. Ray🇬🇧
3 things: how comfortable you look on an unfamiliar bike, the lack of human activity on a Friday night in a small town, and how much the road from Heppner to Condon reminds me of the Mountain Course on the Isle of Man! Another fantastic video, Mike!
Thank you, George, it was amazing in that respect. Hardly any traffic on the roads and it felt like a private circuit! It was so much fun. I hope all is well. Best wishes.
Many thanks! I really appreciate it. Glad you enjoyed the videos. It was a little different from the usual workshop videos, but normal service should resume shortly😉😉
I'm the new Owner of a 1971 Norton Commando 750 thanks to your channel. Made me fall in love with the bikes. I'm Located in Bend, OR btw! hope to make it to some meets in portland
Many thanks Benny and congratulations on your Commando. Hope we can see you and your bike one of these days. Please feel free to write to me at “themightygarage@iCloud.com“ and I can add you to our club email distribution list, just in case you’d like to join any of our Oregon Norton Enthusiasts events. Best wishes, Mike.
Very interesting to see the different geographical features across the state. It was quite unexpected even though Oregon is (slightly) larger than the UK 🇬🇧
Hi Terry, hope all is well. Yes, that was a wonderful lookout. It is apparently a very popular ride destination for motorcyclists and I’m so glad that we had good weather. Best wishes, Mike
I did 35 years of corporate travel, and it was fascinating blasting off into the stratosphere and hauling ass at Mach 0.8. But now I much prefer "crawling" across the land on a motorcycle and experiencing the geography.
Coming from the Seattle area Condon was our dropping off point for touring Eastern Oregon. I would suggest including a run up into the NE corner and visit the Snake River Canyon. I encourage you to finish the sixth video. I'd like to see how it ends.
Thanks, Jim. Here’s a link to the final and sixth video. Cheers Eastern Oregon Motorcycle Ride - Part 6 of 6 on a 2001 VTR1000 Honda Super Hawk ruclips.net/video/ltz1cwzV4j0/видео.html
Great video. I really must find a way to get back out there and ride again. One question: I seem to recall the Super Hawk having a rather small fuel tank. Any range issues riding along with your group and those other more touring oriented sport bikes and their larger capacity fuel tanks? Gas stations can get a bit sparce in eastern Oregon, as I remember.
Yes, you are absolutely right. It’s one of the reasons why Geoff moved over to the Ducati ST3, because the fuel tank was so small on the superhawk. We didn’t have any issues at all during the trip as Bruce planned the route with gas stops in mind. Pam’s Triumph also had a relatively small tank, so I wasn’t the only one who needed to stop :-) cheers, Mike
Fantastic, really interesting to see East Oregon, thanks Mike
Thank you Kevin! Glad you enjoyed it
What a beautiful ride that looks like, great scenery

Amazing what a 'little' elevation does to ones perception of beauty.
Great 'bike riding' country, thanks for sharing Mike. atvb t .. 🏍

So true! It’s so great to ride these country roads with the smells and the sites and the wonderful feeling. Best wishes, Mike
Owyhee area is interesting, probably need more of an off road type bike for it, though.
Thank you for the tip William. Cheers, Mike
