  • Hygger Gravel GUN Vacuum Setup & Review. I saw that this product was a top seller in the aquarium niche and I had to test it out because it looks super interesting. The hygger gravel vacuum is a cool tool to have in your Arsenal. I go over my review of this product and talk about some of its features.

    More Added Fish Tanks:
Need some advice in upgrading my Betta's setup. I am planning to transferring him from a 5 Gallon with gravel substrate to a 10 Gallon with sand and gravel substrate. My question is, how do I go about this? How long would it take to cycle the 10 Gallon and have it set up well? Below is a pic of my guy in his current 5 Gallon aquarium.
Beautiful! I’d recommend you look up doing a dirted tank with sand cap if you are wanting lots of live plants (mine are thriving in my dirted tank) and i used the fishless fuel to cycle my tank and it took about 3.5 weeks to be ready for stock to be added and plants and fish are now thriving in the tank I have setup that way.
My betta, Peach seems to have a cloudy eye. How should I treat him? Meds are no longer available in Canada. I have Methylene blue, but not sure if its a fungaI infection. I could treat him with aquarium salt. Let me know you've treated your betta with cloudy eye. Thanks in advanced.
So I lost my beautiful double tail Spirit...and we got this boy Apollo a couple weeks ago. My concern is my first Spirit was a double tail and ended up with a swim bladder issue. So his main food source became betta bug bites and daphnia. And I fed him sparingly. Apollo is not a double tail so not prone to swim bladder, but I think I may be under feeding him. The foods shown are what I feed him and I alternate them daily and once a week he gets daphnia. I only feed him one vibra peice broken up, or a couple small pieces of betta bug bites, or a small piece of flake. My question is..can I feed him that twice a day without issue? I rather have a skinny fish than one with a swim bladder issue but also don't want him to lose his beautiful fat body. Thank you in advance for advice. Apollo and I appreciate it.
Yeah the tips of his fins look black. Not sure if thats his normal color, but from the research I've done I heard that could be fin rot. Even if your parameters are perfect (ours were too) they can still acquire fin rot. I would do a mild dose of aquarium salt and if that doesn't help I'd use seachem paraguard and something like stress coat.
Not exactly though I’ve had the tank running for a year and a couple months.. I’ve have no issues so far.. could just mean the tanks doing really well and the biological filter is doing a good enough job.. I mean I have a baffled 20g filter in a 5g tank and tons of plants and I feed only a smig heavier than I should.. just the fact of how long I’ve had it running indicates that it might just be really healthy and established but I’m going to track weekly well see the results if it stays at zero for the next couple of weeks I’ll assume the tanks just healthy.
Hello all! I just recently got a betta and i bought a desktop 2 gallon tank for him. After reading that they should have a bigger tank i went ahead and bought a marineland 5 gallon tank. As being a new owner should i stick to fake plants at the moment or just go ahead and use some real plants?
Real plants will help filter out nitrates but I would wait until your bacteria is established as the plants will melt. Silk plants are great too! Just gotta make sure they're not plastic and sharp, which can rip delicate fins. If you have a plakat, you could maybe get away with rounded plastic but I wouldn't chance it.
Real ones! I promise they're so easy as long as you know the basics of plant care. My favorites is the amazon sword but once you get the plants established, they'll do their own thing and help your tank and fish out much better.
Definitely real plants. I have the same tank and cut out the “built-in filter” since it takes up at least 1 gallon itself and I read people had difficulty with regulating the temperature.
Even as a first time aquarium keeper a while back, I always stuck with all natural decor. Real rocks, real plants. I started with just house plants rooting in the top of the tank though, pothos, wandering Jew, spider. Then I slowly added easy aquatic plants like hornwort and Anubias. Most sites that sell plants describe the level of care as easy/beginner, intermediate, etc. I also never buy plants that say they need Co2. I’m not wanting to get that far into plants.
Anubias, maybe some Java fern. They don't need to be rooted, just tied or glued to something, feed from the water column. I had beautifully planted tanks with only those plants and moss for YEARS and never used a special light or a drop of fertilizer. And anubias rarely loses leaves, they don't really melt, and they don't shed. They grow slowly, but that's a good thing for a 5g tank.

This is an excellent presentation... I'm on Amazon looking at this unit and did a RUclips search. Here we are! I'm sold, I wish that instead of the pinch-flow control, they put a turn-valve inline - aka globe valve. That would help with start and stop water changes. Sold! The long, smaller diameter tube that gets it down in between plantings is a huge bonus. Thumbs UP, wishing you all the best!

Newb here. I just got a tiny little desk top beta tank and got a regular gravity feed gravel vac. I had problems trying to prime the tube in such a small tank even though the packaging said it was for 1-15 gal tanks. When I pumped the up and down action stirred up all the debris. Yuck! The trigger thing sounds like the perfect answer. Thank you for your review. Going right to Amazon next. Gotta keep Mr Finley happy!

I noticed the aquarium I bought him the aquarium itself isn't the best.. aqueon 2.5 Betta fish aquarium..
I just ordered a sponge like filter so I'll try that out..but now my biggest issue
It seems like I have to clean his tank every other day...I want a siphon that holds up ..that does what it says and doesn't need too much maintenance

Python is fantastic for changing water, especially for larger tanks. This is more for precision vacuuming with the benefit of you not having to stick your hand in the tank water. Maybe you want to get some uneaten food out, or do some spot cleaning. I agree it's more useful for smaller tanks, as bigger tanks has better options. Still a nice tool to have.

Hello friend, I wonder if there is an opportunity to cooperate with you, although I know the probability of reply is extremely small, but there is a chance I still want to try, I want to invite you to take an unboxing video of our products

This thing is garbage do not buy. Mine worked for about 1 minute then would not suction anymore. Definitely not a good look. I was skeptical to even purchase and I should’ve went with my gut feeling about this product. It was a cool idea but very cheap quality
