I have looked at this collapsible kettle a few times and I know Mark Young is a fan of these.
I realised that i always carry things in my kettles, for example a stove, gas, coffee lighter so the space is never wasted, so as much as I like the concept I can’t see myself getting one.
Also the heat exchanger pots are so efficient it saves gas and provides very quick brew times.
I have the same grill stand all be it the larger size, which is about twice the length but the same in the other dimensions, I wish I had purchased two small ones instead.
    Always enjoy a WO video.

Thanks for watching, Analogue Cat, and for all the insights. Yes, as cute as the little kettle is, it probably isn't going to be as durable and versatile as an all metal one. If the main goal is weight savings, it's more of a contender. That's an interesting point about using two of the smaller, more square-ish grill stands instead of one longer one. Having two would actually provide space for larger pans and more versatility for the amount of fire under each. Good call!

Portable, Folding Stainless Steel Camfire Cook Stand is very nice and its cheap . I will get me one . The Thin, Straight Hardwood Spatula too

    • @wobblyotteroutdoors
      @wobblyotteroutdoors  2 года назад +1

That cook stand is just the best. I literally use the straight wood spatulas most times when I cook. I admit feeling a little silly for buying flat sticks, but I got over that pretty quick after using them.

Another great video! We really like the cook stand, lighter, cutting board, and spatula. Also LOVE the wooden coffee cup! Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work!!

Thanks so much! That little wooden cup looks a lot differently than it did when I got it. It originally was not smooth on the surface; it had a pronounced texture. A bit of sandpaper sanding made it nice and smooth. 😊

Thanks for the video, personally I would consider the Firebox stove an essential considering their versatility, I have all 3 Fireboxes, the nano, the 5” and the new one Scout. I’ve used the older ones for years with wood pellets, twigs, Trangia alcohol stove, charcoal and the Isobutane insert, cooking all sorts of different things, I love them. I really like the cutting board, is beautiful and handy. As usual your videos are very informative and down to the point. Thanks.

We completely agree with your take on the Firebox stoves. We have two of the 5" stoves and the little Nano that I absolutely love. Thank you so much for watching, and sharing your thoughts and kind words.

@@wobblyotteroutdoors by the way I also love the carbon steel pan, I have a 10” and a 8”, the 8” has a small foldable handle that is hollow and you can grab a medium size stick and place inside the handle to make it longer, so far I haven’t had the need to do so but I’ve tried it and it works. I think they’re called Viking pan. Check it out in Amazon.

Thank you so much for all of this Carmen. I've only been using the carbon steel pans for a year or two and I absolutely love them. The Viking pan sounds cool! I'lll be checking them out.

I was revisiting your videos because I love your reviews, I got the Sea to Summit water bladder and mine came also with a little tiny shower head you can attach, I don’t think it’d wash my hair but certainly handy for a body wash or the feet that always get nasty dirty and you don’t want to stick inside your sleeping bag, I have this and 2 GSI similar, 10 liter that I take always when dry camping, once the water is finished you roll them up taking hardly any space, water tastes weird at first but the more you fill and empty the taste goes away, priceless for dry camping. Is best to use gravity as they’re made to not waste water but they work flat too just slower flow which helps not to waste water, the fact they’re black helps heat up the water if you place them in the sun. In my opinion they’re absolutely a must.

Aww. Thank you so much. Oh, the little shower head sounds simply wonderful. I'll be revisiting the Sea to Summit... and also checking out the 10 liter GSI Outdoors water carriers for sure! Thank you so much for sharing!

Thanks for the mention Cris! And good video, I like the format. In addition, I'll be getting the small campfire cook stand and a wooden spatula.

You're welcome. We appreciate all the information you share with us, so much. I am pleased with the thickness of the material used in the cook stand. It seems well made. I hope it lasts 'cause it's such a nice size. I'm interested to hear what you think of the straight wood spatula after using it for a while. I use them most every time I cook, but did feel odd about buying a stick at first. 🙂

I think u need a bigger pot, half the foods in the fire! lol I use a titanium pot and lid 750ml, u can use it on the coals and my gas and burner fit inside. It also has a clip on handle to pour and the lid has holes to strain.

Yea, those squash bit can really jump. 🙂 That 10" carbon steel pan is one of my favorites. It's seasoned so well it's nice and slippery. Glad you're happy with your titanium pot.
