I was there & 24 too. Only just tho' almost 25 .
Just showed this to our 17 year old daughter, can't believe I was 18 then. James, Carter, nirvana's first, blur. So many great acts. All I remember about the sisters set is lots of smoke. Great times.
This performance was so underrated I still don’t understand how this was not more praised….. the whole vibe of this performance was incredible…..
A marmite band. Lots of fans were obsessed, but they had so many haters. The NME and Melody Maker would give them a lot of publicity but some journalists in those same publications would love taking down Eldritch. Strange to think how much influence these grotty papers had over the 16 to 21 market.
Best audio and performance I've seen yet on one of these boots.
i think this was the best act i have ever seen,, i was not a fan.. I have seen ...public enemy,, page and plant,, pink floyd, de la soul,, pixies,, happy mondays.. stone roses..PIL.ozzric tennicles.. pulp..the orb,,iggy pop,, james brown,, rage against the machine..& many many more. all sorts.. sisters of mercy.. excellent.. i dont even like their music.. would not buy an album but.......... live.. effing escellent.. the whole world was mind blowing... maybe it was the five rhubarb and custards.. who knows?.. they started like Duran Duran and ended like Black flag... blew my mind.. i am glad someone posted this.. because to me its almost unbelievable.. i have been telling everybody, for years: the sister of Mercy are the best (live) band in the world.. ever.. now I have proof
I was there as a 21 yr old, what a great night.
Super, tez bylem
Same ! 🤘🏻😎
@@fabgir2010 Fuck we're old.
Same same :)
Bylem na tym koncercie, super.Mialem wtedy 19 lat.Co to byly za czasy
I've had this bootleg (same audio) on CD since the mid-90s. I always pictured the gig being in daylight. I should have known better!
I got to Alice and had to stop to process... I totally forget sometimes that the band he put together for Vision Thing actually toured.
Almost with Public Enemy, Gang of Four and Warrior Soul. But the man could never let anything like that go down....
Also, totes in that overlap of people who consider both Andrew Eldritch and Chuck D among the most important voices of their generation.
Eines der besten Sisters Konzert die vier auf RUclips zu sehen sind. Danke.
I may not have even heard of them yet when this was performed. But by that year's end they had become my favorite band. And they still are.
It was a cool show, but you definitely hear glimpses of how his voice would deteriorate into a painful raspy cackle years later.
Chain smoking
Great set list they did at this gig.. and man the lighting design is excellent
The only concert of S.O.M i have seen :)
OMG I luv this guy!
I saw this tour 4/1/91 in Washington D.C at the Citadel, and again in LA. at Irv. Med. Amp , this recording does not even cum close to giving them Justice.
I was at both of those shows. The DC/Citadel show with the controlled dry ice smoke, and him in white with hair slicked back. Tony with hat and glasses, Andreas with blond hair and glasses. Tim with just hair. Andrew turning and ducking his head would turn as he sang next line and be 10 feet away from where he sang the last line. That was an amazing show. I've seen them 8 times since and loved every time. But nothing was like The Citadel show.
My third Reading, At the age of 21. Just fantastic! x
Not too many people headline a festival and still look sweet as fuck.
I was there aged 19 - I'd been obsessed with the Sisters since hearing This Corrosion (at 15). And some c*** ripped open my tent and pinched my stuff...
Not still bitter or anything...
Jesus loves the Sisters
Me too
♥️💘
Was there.
Was awesome.
Very cool!
"Ruft mich, wenn die Sisters laufen!"
- Jemand, völlig blau, auf einer Party in Ruchheim, 1991
I was there at the age of 20 and lost my sole to rock n roll....literally. the sole of my desert boot came off during Lucretia and I suffered for months afterwards.
I was there as well!
This show had to have been incredible. The execution of the songs is flawless and the band's musical prowess is incredible. These guys could have schooled 90% of the bands that followed them. Can't believe more musicians in the last 3 decades have not named the Sisters as a significant influence.
Yes you were. Looked and sounded brilliant.
ist das geil, ich feier hier gerade sowas von ab, dankeschön für den Post
I saw the Sisters in 1990, 2000 and last year. But it was never as good as this.
I was there with my sister Shirley. We were in our 20s
A great gig and there were some wonderful looking people in the audience too. I remember a lady in a full wedding dress, which I thought was excellent considering all the mud, ha ha! :-)
I'll donate a kidney to have been at this bastard show
I was there. No organ donation was necessary, although a mate of mine did sustain injuries when he thought it would be a good idea to get involved in the goth mosh pit scenario :-0
❤
Ya know, new Sisters fan here, even though should have been all over this growing up in this era back in the 80s, just realized something during the Vision Thing performance in this set. These guys were a serious foreshadowing of Velvet Revolver. If you squint just right, ya kinda go "Is that Scott Weiland?" lol
thanks fpr share us it
Brilliant. I was there, right at the front and protecting my rather more ... slightly built friend from becoming so much smeared viscera on the crowd barriers. And yet I remember almost one of the details, so this film will have to make up for that.
Best live version of Lucretia
Was in Heidelberg in 1990 and Hannover 1991 myself. Watched the Munich and the Reading shows. Way better sound
I was 19 at this gig! Now 49 😳
That is awesome!
Age is just a number. I was 23 in Heidelberg 1990 and Hannover 1991
Made it to 52 and a half thus far. Hope after their Euro Tour they'll come to North America later this year. Show #9 and 10 is on my bucket list
2O at the time, now 52.
🎁❤
I got pulled out of the front of this gig because of the insane crush (I was also really stoned).
Sadly, I was not there.
Merci! ... falls Du Dich an einen UPloader (sisteruli) bei`m Dark Circle Room! Einfach nur Dankeschön!!!
Fab
Good
Who's the female backing vocalist?
Ofrah Haza
Could be too early for Ofra and the voice sounds wrong; they'd been touring with Suzanna Josefowicz that year, so she seems the most likely.
It was Suzanna Josefowicz
Favorite song of this live performance would be Dominion and Flood 2…
a parodie to 1985 (-; maybe . the drummachine & sound was else , unforgettable .
schmoke & miRRors
Z👽
As you can see you can see nothing.
Which is the correct set up for a Sisters gig
