Greg, you’ve got to try a pie from David’s hot bread on wondall Rd at manly west. Across the road from the wynnum manly leagues club. It’s a hidden gem! You won’t be sorry. I worked at a bakery that had award winning pies when I was at high school… David’s hot bread pie leave them for dead. Trust me, it’s be eaten a few pies on my time.
Hi we have so many things in common when it comes down to food in the UK and over there we also eat tons of pie's and fish and chips and Marmite and vegemite although i have to admit i do prefer your vegemite to are marmite as yours isn't to over powering, great as always mate 🍻🙏🙏🙏
I would consider myself a pie expert, and I can tell you that Old Fernvale Bakery sells the county's best meat pie! I'm confident in saying this because I visited 9 other pie shops within the same week for the vlog!
Fernvale Bakery is definately up there with the top dogs. Robbo's bakery at Karalee was a gun for years but sold to new owners who don't make them the same. Syds Pies off Drew's Road on the service road of the M1 is a bell ringer too. Their Guiness beef Pie with mushy peas are outstanding. I've heard WA has some crackers too. Be keen to try
Few points Greggo. 1) literally round the corner from my joint, so could have called me in for the review 2) Muzzas is okay, but only 5 mins away is a really bloody good pie. Stone Artisan Bakery, its inside the Rock n Roll fruit shop & Deli, on Logan rd Greenslopes just passed Stones Corner 3) 40c for the dead horse is a disgrace. When i come to power, charging for sauce will bet met with mandatory jail time!
Always wanted to visit Australia, a old hunting buddy was from Queensland but I guess With today’s world I might never get to see it. But I got these vids! Really appreciate it and enjoy your content!
Steak Tomato and Onion sounds good and the Custard Tarts look top notch but charging for the sauce sachets is just a no no.and maybe it's convenient it's next door to a Doctor/Pathology/Podiatry 😳
@@somekindaguy100 my work crew and i all bought pies there. most definitely tasted like cat. smelled like cat. but then again, what would i know. i don't have an old wife.
@Ben Earle i think it happens more than you think. restaurants have been caught serving all manner of things posed as "beef" over the years. horse, meat was a huge scandal in europe a few years back. they eat dog in china (they even have a dog meat festival) so not sure why that would surprise anyone either. what one race sees as edible, another doesnt. just saying.
Fair review Greg. I've been to Muzzas a few times. The Pie shop you need to review is "Syds Pies" on the service road of the M1 near the Cleveland exit. It's a pommy joint and they have a Guiness Beef Pie that's amazing 👏
@@limosine Who cares. Better for the environment is better for earth and its inhabitants. And plus, I see nothing wrong with paper straws. They seem to work just fine for me.

I would actually prefer a really thick gravy like that, because there's nothing worse than when lava-hot gravy spills out of the pie and burns your arms or hands. Not so sure about the meat, but even allowing for the fact that ol' Greggo likes everything "well-done," I've never seen stewed beef pink inside. Maybe @Brad Tippa is right: it's not actually beef, it might be pork shoulder but I think it could also be silverside.
Haven't had a Muzza's pie for years, but they were always a solid choice. That combo of the firm pastry and thicker gravy made it an excellent pie for eating on the run. Reckon a 7.5/10 would have been a fair rating back then.
Ha Ha you know he is from New Zealand? he used to own one in auckland and a relative bought it from him and it is still going strong in fact had pies from there last week just thought you might like to know in NZ pies have to have 75% meat content in aussie pies only 25% so chew on that

If that pie is an indication of the quality of their pies I'll be giving them a big miss. Pity given the variety. The only upside I could see is that the filling would not run down your hand & arm & burn you if it was too hot.
Love the slogan on the sign “Buy one or we’ll both starve.” 😆😆
The best ever slogan with deep meaning.......😊👍
Hi Greg
I struggle with mental health issues and watching your videos puts a smile on my face when needed
Thanks greg
hope you're well kevin -paul

In Los Angeles there are many things, but no AWESOME PIE SHOPS like this one here! What a wild assortment of quality pies! Oh my goodness me. 😳
Try The Pie Hole along Lincoln Blvd or the pie shop next to Chipotle on San Vicente in Brentwood.
You guys have a better choice of other things

It looked absolutely awful.

Chicken and apricot pie wow that’s different you should try that next time I like chicken pies cos it’s not so chewy
That's how the beef meat pies look from my local grocery store's store brand except larger.
Easts tigers are in corpooroo
Riverhills Bakery is my go-to for pies. Tastes fantastic and their pies only cost around $3.40 - $3.80 each.
Hands down another top review well done cob

Definitely cornflour . Added to the gravey ,mostly gravy and less chuncks of meat .humm you did say it was small . Just a pie . 6 grego lol
Looks like a nice enough pie but I think you guessed it Grego, too much flour in the gravy. Excellent review as always!!!
Have you tried the scollop pie?
That English place you went to on the M1 the go when it comes to Pies

It didn’t look appetising. They over thickened the gravy.
