I am surprised about The Host placement honestly, I LOVED the book, the movie can ... grrr.... I wish she would write more of that series, I liked it better than Twilight.
The only movies that I've seen on here are the Twilight saga. My least favourite was Eclipse because it was boring 😶😶 but my favourite was Breaking Dawn Part 2 😊😊 And I loved Tim Burton's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland ❤🖤
I actually, and perhaps controversially, LOVE New Moon and the movie. I tried rereading the books after I had covid in 2020 because all the movies were on TV the week I got sick and I only made it through New Moon, tbh, and it made me fall back in love with the story. I also (perhaps controversially) will say I loved the Shadowhunters TV show and I love the cast with my whole heart as well. They did change a LOT, but honestly, I think I may love it more than the books.
the most amazing book to movie adaptation imo is atonement with Keira knightley & james mcavoy adapted from the book by Ian McEwan. that movie has such a special place in my heart 🤍
Hey Hailey great video as always! I did want to mention that in the very beginning of the book Insurgent the character does cut her hair. Which very convenient since she was working on both those projects at the time. The insurgent adaptation still really sucked but thought that may be some helpful information 😊😊
When she brought that up, I was trying to go back in my mind because I thought it was in the book as well! So I’m glad I saw your comment. It’s funny how some of these books/movies merge together in my memory since it’s been so long.
@@ElizabethNicoleSchwartz Booktube is problematixc. And everyyear they get worse. Last year a lot of the YA promoted on here was trash, ,now they've turned their back on YA altogether. And there are some people that Booktubers would literally shoot dead if they were handed loaded guns. I don't mean even just individuals, literal GROUPS Of people. So they can all get off their hmighty horses and stop acting like they want kindness fo reveryone when they clearly DO NOT.
My thoughts that you didn't ask for: 1. I wasn't a fan of the acting in The Fault in Our Stars(besides 1 character), so that would be a no thank you for me. 2. If you take Percy Jackson as a movie that isn't based on a book and don't expect it to be anything like said book, it's a fun movie. The books were just SO MUCH BETTER that it's hard to accept that as an adaptation. 3. Miss Peregrine's gets me so frustrated. Love the idea, LOATHE the changes in characters/powers. 4. I was so interested in the book The Host. The movie falls flat, but it's mostly watchable. I don't really have strong opinions on any of the others.
Great video 💖 Had to read The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton in highschool, so I watched the movie first. Hated it, a lot! Then I read the book and loved it, and then I watched the movie again and it was unbelievably amazing. Every single little detail written in the book is in the movie, only if you haven't read it you miss all those things. It's the only time that happened for me with a book to movie adaptation
I haven't seen all of these, but the ones I have I agreed with you completely. Especially The Hunger Games and Twilight. And The Book Thief. It was an amazing movie, but the book is just so incredible. It was probably an impossible task to make the adaptation better than the book.

I haven't seen all the adaptations that you have, but I've seen most of them and I would say I agree with the vast majority of your opinions. Also, I've read Five Feet Apart and yeah the movie is better.
The Netflix adaptation is so much better, but I would understand if you still found it bleak. That story of what happened to you as an extra sounds so icky.
A couple you didn’t mention that I would add: Eragon (movie gets a no thank you) Vampire Academy (my fav vamp series of all time so I honestly give movie an okay because I sometimes watch it just to be in that world) Avalon High (MAJOR no thank you… only watched the trailer but that was enough to rank lol)
Avalon HIgh is a Disney Channel Original Movie, that's enough to convince me to watch, especially with people being so anti-Disney Channel. True, their adaption of How My Private Personal Journal Became a Bestseller doesn't sound like the book at all, but even that movie can have its merits. I haven't seen either of these yet but I like having DCOM's that willb e new to me so I can savor them at a later time.

but she doesn’t cut her hair THAT short, it’s shoulder length. that’s part of the issue on why it’s hard to separate them
