  • Here is an age old tradition from a university in Ontario, Canada - Queen's University, here is Oil Thigh!
This song has many verses, yet most renditions on YT only have the first verse with the chorus played before and after, followed by the chant. The second, third, fourth, and fifth verses are rarely sung, yet it mentions previous rivals of the Gaels, like Toronto, McGill, and even Yale.
This song started being created around the 1890s after an upset loss against Toronto. Queen's created this song as a way to bring spirit and hope back up for the team. If you could listen closely, the melody is "Battle Hymn of the Republic", which is also the fight song of Georgia, among other schools and teams.
    With that, hope you enjoy!
    LYRICS
    Chorus:
Oil thigh na Banrighinn a' Bhanrighinn gu bràth!
Oil thigh na Banrighinn a' Bhanrighinn gu bràth!
Oil thigh na Banrighinn a' Bhanrighinn gu bràth!
    Cha-ghèill! Cha-ghèill! Cha-ghèill!
    1st verse:
Queen's College colours we are wearing once again,
Soiled as they are by the battle and the rain,
Yet another victory to wipe away the stain!
So, Gaels, go in and win!
    [chorus]
    2nd verse:
Varsity's not invincible, they tremble at the news
Of Queen's College Colours and are shaking in their shoes.
Yet another victory, the chance we dare not lose.
So, Gaels, go in and win!
    [chorus]
    3rd verse:
McGill has met defeat before, they've heard the same old tale
Of Queen's College colours, boys, the ones that seldom fail,
Remember Captain Curtis and the conquerors of Yale,
So, Gaels, go in and win!
    [chorus]
    4th verse:
Western's White and Purple have come down to Queen's to score,
We sent them back to London as they'd ne'er been sent before.
And Queen's again were victors as they were in days of yore,
So, Gaels, go in and win!
    [chorus]
    5th verse:
There may be other colours to the breezes oft unfurled,
    And many another college yell by student voices hurled;
Queen's College colours are the dearest in the world,
So, Gaels, go in and win!
    [chorus]
    Chant:
    What's the sport of Kings? Queen's! Queen's! Queen's!
Oilthigh na Banrighinn Cha ghèill! Cha ghèill! Cha ghèill!
Oilthigh na Banrighinn Cha ghèill! Cha ghèill! Cha ghèill!
    Goooooooo Queen's!
    (Chorus in English:
The Queen's College and Queen forever!
The Queen's College and Queen forever!
The Queen's College and Queen forever!
No surrender! No surrender! No surrender!)
