Christ, what a good review. I'd never have the strength of fortitude to even try a mechanicore. I'm happy with my fix figuration Deep Striker and EX--S :D would love if you paint this and decal it with proper sentinel markings! Lol
Came here after seeing their firehawk, would you think it'd be ok to try a mechanicore kit as a beginner with only a couple bandai kits built? Really like the firehawk but a third party kit with some issues could crazy difficult especially on the scale mechanicore does (tho probably won't be able to get one but hope you do a video on it when it comes!)
For me with only a couple I think you need to do a couple more and try a couple of third party kits to get the feel if you are able to overcome 3rd party issues like parts finding and fitting, sanding and gluing parts. This way you will not be shocked when you build a kit from mechanicore.
@@epistarter1136 I think it depends on what line you like. There are third party kits like supernova with the edited Wing kits to Daban with the unicorn line to other 3rd party kits like the judge moonlight, hermoxian thor and trailblazer kits.I have actually seen other people saying that some of these kits fit better than bandai so getting old 3rd party kits might be good for the experience. The supernova line might be a good place to start, their heavy arms kit and nataku look good to me the desthscythe is pretty hard to find from where I am from.
It just takes time If you are happy to spend time building plastic kits it's definitely no big deal The best thing about mechanicore kits is that the outcome beats everything.
I got this kit. I’m debating if I want to even do the led’s. If I do I know I’ll only light it up once when I’m done building it. And then never again. Same with my Rodams I’ve built. So I’m not sure if I’m going to use them. Should make it a lot easier.
Thank you very much for the review, it is an interesting kit, high end difficulty to fix all lose parts, painting and detailing. Scale wise it seems smaller than a 1-72, did you check the actual size?
Oyeah I was gonna get it but seeing the streams and the final product it looks very bland and problematic for a 400 dollar kit, I can just get virtue, metal build amatsu mina and another 60 dollar kit that would prob look way better in the end. Small but alot better unless ur godlike in painting and dealing with losing parts and stress when it comes to this kit xD
Not to knock on your effort to build something like this...but this is a typical overly decorated (notice not designed) Chinese knockoff gundam(a trend that we have seen in many resin conversion kits for Bandai's gunpla) that the person who made it has no idea about why Ex-S has been such a legendary design for long time hobby fans. It is not just the over-crowded details that spells bad taste. The horrendous overall proportion, the gaudy shapes and forms of the surface elements, the excessive-use of cheesy led components, and lack of consideration about the stances/postures of the final built product, are all insults to the great og design. I know this thing isn't cheap but the finished product looks like a cheap toy made by some stupid fanboy who has zero understanding about mecha design. No amount of painting skill will save this mess from being a absolutely big hot pile of dog poo in my book.
As much as I partially agree with this statement I think it's very petty and fanboyish of you to say this wasn't designed, bad design or not, it's still a varient
I can't even imagine how epic this will look when it's painted, detailed and decaled up. Mad kit.
LETS GOOO! FINALLY A REVIEW ON THIS THING! KEEP MAKING VIDS! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM!

I’m debating on getting this.. it’s been on my mind for weeks, it’s such a badass kit! but the cost is crazy high.
Excellent review, thanks for all of the details and comments!
Tbh this the first time I've seen Mechanicore kit oob review. Respect.

@@CoffeeGriever do you know some third party kits that look nice and would be good for experience?

I think some of the "pointless" photoetch parts were meant to be seen through the clear version of this kit that I regret to have not gotten.
Yes someone enlightened me during the stream
superb review - thanks very much for the thoughtful and considered analysis!
It's a good day when you release a video
Painting will probably resolve most of the looseness. Nice review dude 🤓✌️

Is it possible to change the direction of the head of this kit?I am concerned because the face is in the same position in all the examples.
i think you have the leg booster swapped..but great work, hope I can build mine soon..🤣
Omg suprb video review more pls! How much did you pay for this beast?
Did the LEDs in the base of your kit not work until all the wiring was connected?
No
Why does the entire upper body and lower body not standing straight up, the upper is qn inch behind the lower body on the stand.
It is $1,000 now..😢

It's bigger than the PG Unleashed and about same height as PG unicorn so the scale is right
where's mechanicore website
I wish I could buy just the base.
Anyone know of a place where these can currently be bought?
I would need 1 year just to build this guy.
Wow leg... I gove up the leg parts.. too heavy
Will you paint it?
Maybe, if I decide to torture myself
@@JLGunplaUK hahaha
with a cost that high I expect at least an enjoyable build, this is a nightmare loose brick. Even the final look is not worth it...

That's not EX-s. That's from china 0033 not bandai
Wow didn't know it's not Bandai thanks
Of course it's it not Bandai, it's MECHANICORE, it says as much in the video title..........
