Joel Surfs G-Land for His First Time (and gets an INDO EYE TATTOO)

- We all can relate to having a drastic change in our life that completely clouds our world with darkness. Something along the lines of losing a family member, breaking up with a long term girlfriend, or losing your job. Joel didn't let darkness take over and decided to visit Indonesia for his first time. His dad surfed G-Land back in the 70s and he grew up hearing the stories. So when he contacted me about taking him out to some good left handers and filming I immediately suggested we do a proper trip over to G-land. JOEL WAS GAME!
We hopped on a fast boat from Bali arranged by Jawa Jiwa and 2.5 hours later we were in Javanese National Park paradise. Joel was able to experience a lot of firsts. Monkeys. Tropical Fruit. Warm Indonesian blue barrels. And a mental uplift from life's realities from a far distance away.
We spent 3 nights at Jawa Jiwa and Matt the owner set us up so proper. It was ridiculously good food and even a BGS Cafe on-site providing the most frothiest of coffees everyday.
Joel asked if he could get a tattoo of my Indo Eye logo after the trip was finished. As if I was going to say no! What an honor. What a legend. And what a trip together to capture priceless memories and enable a hard time to become one of the best experiences of his life.
Joel doesn't have social media either and simply wanted these memories for himself and his family. It was a true pleasure to make this trip happen for the dude and I hope you enjoy this video as much as we did making it.
