Your video is good for beginners, it is comprehensible for me even without a transcription. In my opinion, there is much better to listen to an audiobook or a podcast with the transcription. It can improve simultaneously an elocution and a vocabulary. Only reading, particularly silent without listening can strengthen the bad pronunciation.
I absolutely agree! (It's DANGEROUS to only learn new words by reading in English - it's important to HEAR them spoken too!) As your English improves over time, try to listen without a transcript - this will help you train your listening skills!

I am reading a book called the road to character. It talks about your eulogy virtues(like honesty, bravery, kindness) that gets talked about at your funeral and résumé virtues, the ones you list on your résumé to get a job. It says that most people would agree that eulogy virtues are more important but our culture and education system encourages us to develop résumé virtues. Finally, it shows us ways to grow eulogy virtues in ourselves.

My preferences are The Guardian, The İndependent and The Sun. İn my opinion, reading newspapers is one of the great ways to boost the vocabulary. İt also helps us to be familiar with the culture. İt is highly essential in learning a language. I am also a bookworm.:) However ı read in a wide range of contexts, sometimes ı take a recreational approach to read:) As for the book recommendations, ı am a big fan of Harry Potter So, the first book that ı can recommend is the series of Harry Potter. I can also recommend the detective novels of Sherlock Holmes and Robert Galbraith ( the nickname of JK Rowling. Cuckoo, Sİlkworm and Career of Evil. Furthermore, for those who like travel and discovering the new cultures, my advice would be The İtinerary of Marco Polo. For İntermediate learners, the short versions of Jack London's novels could be great. By the way, good luck in Lingoda Marathon. I hope you will push your Spanish skills to the next level ;)

I am Italian and I am reading Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. It is so full of adjectives and nouns whose existence I couldn't ever think of, and I believe it is based on 1800's language patterns. Am I wrong?

As an old man I liked to see The Old Man And the Sea is on your list. Some literary critics consider it as Hemingway's magnum opus. I read it (translated) when I was a teenager (at some point in the past near to the 8th century BC). I agree with you recommending John Steinbeck. He's among the best american writers of all time. From his autorship I read The Grapes of Wrath (translated). I'll try to read Freakonomics in english. Presently I'm reading The Conquest of the Incas by John Hemming, a superb narrative history about the fall of the south american precolumbian empire. In the past I was reading to understant the meaning of the articles , but now while reading I can notice how the words are arranged, how to move from an idea to another.... etc. I think reading gives us an ability to write correctly by imitating what we read.

In the past I was reading to understant the meaning of the articles , but now while reading I can notice how the words are arranged, how to move from an idea to another.... etc.
I think reading gives us an ability to write correctly by imitating what we read.
