Damn Leon! You are the Saw Whisperer! That saw had some problems and sourcing the parts and I totally am amazed that you could get all those parts for a 30 year old saw. True wizardry!! Impressive.
40 or so years ago H-L made a 290 & a 340. Solo had bought 'em so they would have a saw in that size. Both saws had problems with the carbs coming loose b/c of no support. H-L issued a kit for those. It was a bracket on the air filter side. Got any, know where I can get some?
I've been trying to figure out how to get the throttle rod out to be able to remove the carb. I like they have studs but is difficult to get the carb off.
Many of the old Echo saws I’ve worked on, need the main carb retaining screws removed first and once you can move the carb around, you can then move it into a position that allows the choke and throttle rods to be removed.
That's only a 45cc saw. It's got a lot of intricate parts around the carb area. Fuel lines are molded & very hard to find. Hated working on 'em. Btw the 451 is essentially the same saw.
Had one of these in near perfect condition in my dad's garage, dad passed away, and brother sold it for $25....I was mortified, dad paid big bucks for it new.
What's up glad to see you back on Channel your content is one of the best thank you
the kioritz corp engines i have worked on were well made, sense of design that was better than other makes

I have found the old echo's to start cold really easy, very few pulls. I've used or worked on a 601, 500/510, 451, 302, and 301.

I have a 452vl , excellent saw. Whats the difference between it and 451vl?
Mainly some fuel lines & I think fuel caps. Saw's around 45 years old.
i just got one on ebay 65$ to my door not running has all parts. I was looking for a fun time bring it back up to work lvl
The 452 is essentially the same saw, minor differences. Those are only 45cc & came with a 16" bar.
