The actual airing of this performance on Letterman was the first time i had seen the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and it was pretty mush instant love. I'm so glad i found this video again.

Being a bass player, I usually don't care for a bassless band, but the music is so good I didn't notice the lack of until the end. And to the previous poster who commented the drums being negligible, if you watch YYYs other vids you see subtle bits of well placed technique. I enjoy virtuosity from time but the 80s are over, its all about the song now and not about playing nore notes per seccont than most people could dream of.

i love to watch how singers act on stage. it's a lot easier when singers play guitar with their singing because then they can kind of hide behind it. she had a very...interesting stage presents. great song!
I didn't know the band 10 minutes ago (except for gold lion) but after watching a few live videos i came to the conclusion that MAN this Karen girl can totally rip it off in front of an audience ! I LIKE that !!
i agree... that's probably the reason why the are nominated for best alternative album and not for best live performance... also 2nd best album of the year speaks a lot...
nick zinner is actually a very good guitar player (in addition to having great stage presence)...you try coming up with such simple but catchy riffs. I would also consider brian chase's drumming to more than adequate for the style they are going for. Style and execution count just as much if not more than technique in rock.
I totally agree with that. Id much rather hear her real voice (which i think is lovely) than some super digitally edited voiced over recording that most of these people do when they perform.
